Brought in a dress 3 weeks ago and I knew it was a lot of work for this dress. It was the only size left, but not too far from my original sizing but for the amount of stuff that a person has to do with this dress....well let's just say it's quite a bit. He had me try on the dress, pin it, marked it, and today when I went to go pick it up, he had me try it on and lemme tell you, it fits like a glove. I can't possibly be making this up. It hugged in all the right places, like the dress was made for me (even better than the original sizing if I'm gonna be honest). Florentin is honest, kind, and a man of his words. For all of it, it was over 100. Some say it may not be worth it, and some would say it's worth its value. I have never even found a go-to person/place for alterations back home, but I am so pleased and happy I found one in Portland. I wish I could've taken a before/after photo but I'm not one to rave about a place unless I really think it's worth it.

He was so easy to work with and my dress was ready sooner than expected. I would highly recommend this business- I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Thu Fashion - Patchwork on ripped cargo pants

So when I buy dresses or jumpsuits, I need them taken in at the waist and sometimes the sides. That's when Thu comes to the rescue! She knows exactly where to nip and tuck to stay true to the structure of the outfit while tayloring it to my shape. She has done alterations for me on formal dresses, business clothes, casual tops, slacks and maxi dresses. Everything looks amazing because she is a perfectionist. Look at how she dresses everyday to come to her shop and sew, and you will see that Thu knows how clothes should fit and be presented. Thu has a vibrant personality so if no one else is in the shop while you are there, be prepared for lots of conversation and laughs! I would stop by in off-hours during the week to avoid waiting as others tried on clothes and got fitted. So if you don't want to wait, avoid lunch hours, after work and Saturday's. For the quality of work and attention to detail, her prices are more than fair. Highly reccomend Thu for your alteration needs.

Abraham's Fabric Clinic - Didn't even try to make this wearable

There were three layers to this dress so I feel like it was not a simple task. She had me try on the dress so she could get an exact measurement. Fast turn around time. Very nice!

The seamstress here does a horrific job. She is either highly inexperienced/unskilled or does not…read morecare about the quality of her work. I brought in three tank bras and a brand new silk dress to have the straps shortened. She completely butchered my silk dress (which was not cheap). It's asymmetrical now, with a crooked hem, and lies funny (there's a hump on my upper back). She cut the straps (but not in a symmetrical way) and simply brought the back up higher, so the crooked hem lies awkwardly high on my neck). You can see that she sewed the hem a couple of times and had to take stitching out and redo it, so there are holes in random places in the areas she was working on. Yes, the fabric is probably really difficult to sew, but she could have told me she was not able to do it. Instead she did a botch job, and it's unwearable. As for the bras, she simply sewed a hem across and left the bulky remains, so they are unwearable. When I picked up the items, she said it was too thick to sew down. She did try to sew down the bulk on one but didn't even try for the others. All of them are unwearable, though, because the bulk should have been cut off (would have taken two minutes to do it that way). An inexperienced seamstress would have known how to solve this problem. She must get lots of complaints because she makes you pay for her services up front. I just walked out the door and didn't check her work until I got home, so I had no chance to ask her to fix it. Of course, I'm never going back. Don't bring anything here that you care about. It's not worth it, she'll only make the clothing even more unwearable. She probably expects you to complain and won't do a good job until you ask her to. Don't waste your time.
