I try to work with people who are a small business and thought Marcello sounded like a good gamble. I contacted Marcello in the late afternoon of Wednesday and he came later that same day to diagnose the problem. Showed up on time, figured out the issue, and told me he would order the part in the morning and come back the next day to fix it. Literally exactly what happened. No fluffs, no upselling, cleaned up after himself, was professional on the phone and in person, and just told me what to expect and that's how he delivered. Service call was $75 and it would be applied towards the repair. I knew that was fair based on cost of gas, travel time, his knowledge of appliance repair, and the time to diagnose and repair the problem. My parts cost was roughly $200 and since I paid in cash I received a little discount as well. I would absolutely recommend Marcello to my family, neighbors and friends. I figured, why not, I'll give him a call and see what he can do. I'm really happy I chose him. Matt was super honest and professional, never pushy or anything. He took his time to figure out what was wrong and was really cool with my kid, even showing her some of his tools, which actually made the whole thing way less stressful for me. The problem turned out to be a mysterious leak in the part of the fridge that helps cool the air. But instead of trying to sell me a pricey fix, the repair guy suggested just adding more of the coolant fluid to give me some extra time to look around for a new fridge. He assured me that once the part and the freezer lock were replaced, the issue would be resolved. Based on that assurance, we followed his recommendations and spent approximately $2,500 on the repairs. Fast-forward, last week, the freezer was again not working properly. I contacted him because, naturally, we were frustrated after having spent that amount of money. Instead of acknowledging our frustration, his response was, "It's not like it broke down in 2 or 3 days, it took 5 months." He came out again last week and charged us another $658. Unfortunately, the freezer still did not work properly after the service. The check has already been cashed, and we have now decided to purchase a new refrigerator. What is most disappointing to me is not simply the money we spent, but the fact that I specifically asked five months ago whether we should repair the refrigerator or replace it. I relied on his professional recommendation, spent approximately $2,500 following that recommendation, and ultimately ended up needing a new refrigerator anyway. I have already communicated my concerns to him and left the decision regarding the most recent payment with him. In my view, when a customer spends thousands of dollars following a repair recommendation and the underlying problem ultimately remains unresolved, it is reasonable to expect the service provider to acknowledge the customer's frustration and stand behind the work. My experience was that the interaction was pleasant as long as everything was going according to his expectations, but when I raised concerns about the results of the repair, I felt my frustration was not handled professionally. I am sharing this experience so other customers can make an informed decision before spending a significant amount of money on repairs for a Thermador refrigerator or freezer and I wish instead of relying on his advice I researched the issue more to see that maybe repair was not the way to go.

He gave me an exact breakdown of the cost and deducted the diagnosis fee. When he replaced the part, the burners were only a little improved. He said the original regulator did not work correctly. He thought there might be a problem with the gas line, and he came back with an associate that had more gas experience. The line was unblocked, and the burners now work beautifully. The work was done quickly, and Mel & Sergey were very nice. The only downside was that I had to pay by cash or check. Credit cards are not accepted.
