This is by far a hidden gem. If you want a tasty home cooked breakfast at a reasonable price, you will stop and enjoy it here. I've had the breakfast sandwiches, spicy potatoes and eggs/bacon combo. I've only been 2 times so far but it's enough for me to know that this place needs to be in the regular rotation. In Lexington we don't have a true "hole in the wall Gem"...until now. I like that it's off the beaten path so to speak. The first time I had a BLT and I never thought such a regular sandwich could be so mouth watering. The bacon at Roy's is hand cut and phenomenal. The second time I decide to try out the Braveheart omelette with regular eggs (swapped out for the egg whites) and a side of bacon of course. Roy's Grille knocked it out of the park again. Soooo....I've had Roy's Grille a few times and told my husband about it this morning. I ordered a BLT W/ home fries. He had the double stack w/ bacon and home fries. He raved! He was even excited about the pork nachos he read on the 'specials' board. So much so...he went again this afternoon to get them. I admit I ordered a patty melt. You know your food is good when you eat at a place twice in one day, y'all!!! The pork nachos was HUGE!!! I had one to taste...oh...my...word! I agree with my husband...this needs to be a regular menu item. Even if it were served as a smaller size it would be well worth it. Glad this place isn't closer. I'd be in trouble. Amazing. There are no frills; the food just speaks for itself. We went there for breakfast and it was amazing and almost unnaturally tasty. The chef was kind enough to give us samples of the in house cured and smoked bacon and the house made pimento cheese. I had the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, my husband had the steak omelette and we had a side of home fries to share. It wasn't greasy or under/over cooked. It was perfect. Do not be discouraged to come to this restaurant because it is in a gas station. When you walk in you might not think it looks like much, but when you taste the food you will not be disappointed. This place is fantastic! We were looking for a quick, local spot for lunch, and decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint. I got one of the specials, pulled smoked turkey sandwich (with a delightful homemade mustard bbq sauce) with mac and cheese. It was wonderful! My dad got a hamburger that he absolutely raved about- said it's the best he's had in a long time! My mom loved her food also. The customer service was as superb as the food! Like pretty much all the reviews say, you'll be taken back by the gas station front. As the old adage says, don't judge the book by it cover! The unusual location also helps the food stand out even more because the review is not about the Super magical waiter that know when to show up to refill the drink and disappear. It not about the atmosphere of the place that has hand crafted furniture and warm glow of candle light. It all about the food! The lady we interact with there was super friendly and helpful. I ordered shredded pork with their homemade potato salad and carribean coleslaw. My wife ordered their burger with homemade bacon. It was yummy and the burger was was really impressive, especially that homemade bacon. I also really enjoyed their homemade potato salad which has the consistency of a thick pudding, no chunky potato bits. I love it so much that I bought their pint. How good is it? It's so good I created a Yelp account to share the goodness. Cheeseburger? Good. Carolina burger? Gooood. Barbecue? Great! This is hands down the best burger in Lexington, possibly all of Columbia. Good char, juicy, fresh veggies on top. Pimento cheese was a tasty mix of several cheeses, just enough mayo to make it creamy, and spicy enough to give it bite. I'd eat it on a flip flop. The pulled pork was amazing, with a mustard sauce that puts every other midlands restaurant to shame. A hamburger and fries is an American classic but not many do it as well as Roy's Grille. I had a Bacon Jalapeño Pimento Burger and it was probably the best burger I have ever had, anywhere. Yum, yum, yum! My husband, daughter, and I were looking for a place to eat a quick lunch. My daughter found Roy's Grille in the Lexington area, so we decided to stop. The beef patty on my melt was the juiciest, most delicious I've had in ages. My husband, a burger connoisseur, said he couldn't remember the last time he had a burger this good. The sweet potato fries, with the cinnamon-honey drizzle was also very good. We all agreed that this was a place where we'd eat again. Just stopped by to check it out today for lunch. Friends have told me how good the food was and we decided to try it. So glad we did! We both had the pimento burger and it was wonderful. Great juicy sirloin; cooked just right with all fresh condiments, great bun and incredible pimento cheese. I had the Caribbean slaw as side and it was very good! Can't wait to go back and try the pulled pork; it smelled great! The grill is located inside an Exxon station across the street from the Post Office but it has a nice small eating area and the people running it are very gracious and welcoming.
