Needed a Valve Adjustment/15K Service done for my 2007 GSXR 600 and after checking around RPE Motorcycle was the CHEAPEST place to have it done (In Orange County), and after speaking to Nate (their head mechanic) who really knows his stuff I felt pretty confident leaving my bike in his hands. I love RPE, I just went down there thinking I need my clutch replaced and they test rode my bike and told me it still has life in it... I am very pleased with my experience at Vance and Hines, I have 2007 yamaha R1. I had been taking it to another shop for 4 years, but some problem with the clutch system had always remained. I took it to Vance and Hines not only did they correct the problem, but took the time to explain in detail what the problem was, and to my surprise it was due to a botched wield job the other shop had done. If only all mechanics could be this good. I had an oil leak on my 2001 Buell M2 and tried several shops before RPE. All with little success. Other mechanics could not fix the leaks, and were not even sure about the source of the leaks. One shop in the bay area attempted to fix my bike's oil leaks for months, and just couldn't do it. Another shop couldn't figure out why my shifting was rough and the neutral light wasn't working properly. These were big shops working on big bikes. Finally, while on a visit to LA, I looked up RPE. I pulled up to RPE and met Nate, one of the owners and a master mechanic who listened to my issues, inspected my bike, and pretty much diagnosed all of my bike's problems in about 1 minute. Where other mechanics were vague and uncertain - (even Harley mechanics at dealerships who could not give me straight answers) Nate knew exactly what the issues were, drawing them out as diagrams on paper, explaining in detail exactly what was going on with my bike. I left the bike with Nate for a few days - all issues corrected. The leaks were due to bad crankshaft seals, both left and right. Rough shifting and dead neutral light were the result of a worn out shifter detent plate. Again, these are things that just baffled other mechanics for months. Happy with all the repairs, I asked Nate how he was able to fix what other mechanics had missed for months. He has been riding and fixing bikes since he was a kid, and racing bikes most of his life. This guy is a bike jedi, plain and simple. His knowledge of motorcycle engines is vast and thorough. I don't know about you, but I want a jedi master taking care of my bike, and nothing less. This is a place I absolutely recommend. I will go to no other mechanic in Southern California. Thank you Nate and RPE. My bike is back in black, and badder than ever. :-) read more

By far the best and honest shop I have gone too. Nate is very honest and provides awesome work. I dropped of my 05 R1 here after going to 4 different shops got my valves adjustment done and full tune up was very happy with the work that was done on bike. Nate notice something different on my bike so he decided to dig deeper and make sure that everything was good on my bike most shop would of not even done that guaranteed. I have gone to this shop 3 times in my life. All 3 times I've felt unwelcomed. I get ignored by the guy every time. Hell be on the phone this last time I waited 20 mins. The first thing we can think about when first riding a motorcycle is being safe, having proper gear to take a beating so we can come home to our loved ones. After visiting this motorcycle shop in Whittier, I was shopping for leather carbon gloves, and decided to go with the pilot, $65.35 gloves. I wanted something that would last long. After 2 weeks, the stitching and velcro just for the right glove was coming off and I took them back because they were defective. Well this tall cacasian male said I was putting them on wrong, called me an animal, and offered me $20.00 store credit for them. Then, he wanted to trade the gloves for a pair of used $15.00 gloves that were returned by a second costumer because it was also defective. This is unacceptable and I will contact pilot to see what there warranty consists of. What a poor way of displaying costumer service. I would honestly give it 1 star, just because it's local. I'm disappointed with the situation and will never return for any business here. read more

I give this rating not just as a customer who has bought parts or has had service done, but now as a customer who has purchased a motorcycle. Some shops talk about providing "good customer service" while other shops demonstrate "great customer service." If you are in the market for a bike and you want fair pricing and great customer focus..... these guys are legit! I bought an HD Sportster 883 Superlow thanks to Rob who worked with me on a fair price - win/win! But this is where customer service went from "good to great!" There were some details about the bike that I needed changed up to make me sleep better at night, and Rob exceeded my expectations. I know there were personal hours invested by Rob and Nate, but they made it happen because it was important to me, and it's how they run their business - focus on the customer! I had been in RPE before the gentleman behind the counter didn't acknowledge me so I had left and Went somewhere else. The other motorcycle shop recommended RPE. Second chance, the mechanic came out showed me a few options and sold me on a set of new blinkers. Great service doesn't always stem from a large dealership, nor fake attitudes in hopes of upselling unneeded parts and service. What you'll find here are honest and very knowledgeable staff who actually pay attention to details -motorcycles need more than just an oil change!! It gives me peace of mind being told if my drive chain needs adjusting, my brakes need replacing, or my valves don't need adjusting for another 16k miles! Knowing the history of specific models is an added perk they possess! I went here cause its nearby and the reviews were all good... i wanted a good professional inspection of the bike change oil and any simple things like greasing the chain or tightening loose whatever part and see if there were issues to be adressed... my fuel light has been on the whole time so I let them know they said its probably trouble codes and I told him I think its only low fuel indicator. So theyre charge 85 bucks an hour 40 for oil. Like 25 for filter. 10 to recycle oil. I was like alright whatever just get a good inspection lets do it. Called me said ur fuel light is a bad fuel light sensor ... well isnt that what I already told u.. so other than that they didnt do anything else they did not mention anything else had been adjusted cleaned serviced washed nothing.. most expensive oil change youll ever have. Do it yourself in half hour for 30 bucks and ill be doing google to replace the fuel sensor or another shop who is willing to repair it at a flat rate.. not one that charges inspection and tells me what I already know. read more

I had my front rotors polished and front end kit with emulators done. Upon service at my regular dealer they found that the rotors were not true. One was out of recommended alignment. This of course wore down the pads at an acelerated rate. Upon further inspection, the suspensions were cut at different lengths with different settings. I paid for new rotors and pads in order to fix with my dealer. Upon notifying these guys I got interrupted continually stating that Harley is trying to rip me off. I never asked for anything but was continually told that Harley shouldn't be tearing stuff down that far and they wanted my money. I am truly dissapinted not only in that I paid over $1000 for something that was defective but I got attitude upon making the phone call. Of course I won't go there again and unfortunateley cannot recommend them. read more
