I have a 2000 Road King purchased new in October 1999 from Laidlaw's. My bike has been sitting in the garage for the last 5 or 6 years just covered up with work life getting in the way of riding. Now that I am retired I went to Laidlaw's to talk to the service department about getting my bike picked up and going thru everything. I walk in and Brent Laidlaw who sold me my bike back in 1999 was there and I talked to him and told him of my issues. Brent told me my bike was worthless and can not get parts but we have plenty of new bikes to sell you. Brent said to leave your name and number with the service manager and they would arrange to pick it up but doubt they could do anything with it do to parts. The service desk said the manager was out to lunch so I left my info and never heard back from them. I left there that day without a very good feeling. I am glad I never heard back from them. A friend of mine told me to Google mobile Harley mechanics and that is when I found Larry's Harley Services in Whittier. He is not mobile but that was ok because I could just have triple AAA pick up my bike. I called Larry told him my issues and just by talking to him a got a very good feeling about the guy. He also told me parts would not be an issue he would just have to locate them which would be the parts inside the tank. (who knew there was parts inside the tank I thought the gas just flowed out into the injectors Boy was I wrong) I sent my bike to Larry and met him in person and very easy guy to talk to. He said to give him about a week and I would be back on the road again. He found the parts for inside the tank at Glendale Harley no problem. He went thru my entire bike servicing everything and also my bike was a complete mess sitting for the last 5 or 6 years that Larry's son detailed my bike and it looks like new again. Took my Harley bike to Larry to install an aftermarket exhaust , I rode it for a few days when I realized a loud noise. The all thread adapter 02 sensor was loose and fell right off. Originally charged me $650 then rein verse me $100 total $550 for an install that wasn't done correctly. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

Larry was a Godsend. I honestly don't think I have ever gad someone take better care of me as a customer than Larry. I had broken down with a blown out clutch in the middle of the desert at 3pm on a Saturday and needed to get to Born Free on Sunday. It was looking grim considering most shops aren't even open on Sundays. When I spoke with Larry on the phone, I could sense a genuine interest in wanting to help me out and we discussed what possibilities I had given my limited options. After I sorted out my issues with transporting the bike over to his shop, he allowed me to drop the bike off after hours due to my circumstances and that helped me out tremendously. I have a 1999 Road King Classic EFI. I had not turned it on for 2 years and wanted to have it serviced and fully checked out. The Harley dealers and local "Harley Master Mechanics" all told me they don't work on these older bikes. First of all I want to mention how hard it is to find a knowledgeable Harley mechanic after a few unsuccessful calls to mechanics on Yelp I finally found Larry. I have a XL 883 hugger Sportster boared out to a 1200 I had a couple problems my carb was leaking gas out the overflow hose constantly and I had rough idle I also mentioned to him that I wanted to reroute my crank case breather bolts because they leaked oil into my carb. So I spoke to Larry and he quickly had an answer to my problems. He suggested that I rebuild the carb and that he would reroute the hoses on the crankcase breather bolts down the frame of the bike. Set up an appointment fast and easy for the next day he had my bike done in one day it was running nice like a bat out of hell I'm super happy with Larry's work not to mention since my motorcycle was bored out it was a bit complicated for me to tune he suggested certain spark plugs and Gap which solved my problem will be back for more work on my bike with Larry would recommend for Harley bikes. read more

Larry took my street glide in on short notice and was able to locate and fix a electrical short that I had knocked my rear lights. It was in the fairing. He also changed my primary oil and made sure everything was running perfectly. His prices are very fair and he's very knowledgeable. Larry did an amazing job installing my slip ons. I ran into a fair bit of trouble putting them on myself as they wouldn't budge and the guy did it. His prices were reasonable and he took my bike in at 7 am because I had to go to work and couldn't drop off any earlier - & he allowed me to pick up my bike much later than a normal dealer would allow. For a while now I had been having some issue with my Harley, having to jump start it just to get it going. Local shop said it was a battery issue and didn't even bother to double check to see if that was the issue. This is a real shady dude, don't take your bike here unless you want to leave with more problems and unexpected price changes He told me $250 for clutch cable and labor and then called me back to let me know he was only able to find a cable that cost $320 alone plus another $150 for labor I was baffled at the fact he didn't call me to ask if that was okay...he just bought it anyway I asked him for the receipt to the clutch cable and he said "he didn't have one cause he paid with his credit card" He was really upset cursing at me on the phone over a receipt that I'm entitled too After picking up my bike I paid the 320 for the cable but he said "not to pay him for the labor and that he never wanted to work on my bike again" I noticed when I turned it on the idling was way too high around 1800 rpm which is so obvious he tried some sketchy business My buddy ended up fixing the problem by releasing some pressure in the clutch adjustment read more

Larry is a great guy and a great Mechanic. I had a Clutch recently installed by another shop and it was done poorly, so poorly in fact it only lasted around 300 miles ! Before the clutch plates went bad. Looked around for a good shop and found Larry. This guy is good ! He fixed my clutch within a day and even went as far as to research what happened to the other clutch....turns out the clutch plates were never soaked properly....if at all. Larry came to my house to pick up my son's bike a 2002 Road King, as no AAA company wanted to pick up my bike at the time. They wanted me to wait 2 days and make a resevation to have it picked up. The bike had brake issues that my son tried to fix, but he only made it worst. It had no front brakes and the rear brakes were missing the seals and other items. Larry did an outstanding job in trouble shooting the problems with the brakes on my son's bike. He is good Harley mechanic and knows his Harley stuff.
