Ray was referred to me by a friend. He came at 8:30 pm to check my air that went out that same day. After spending 4 hours the next day trying to save my (very old) system, his crew installed a new system that evening so I didn't have to wait. He didn't even charge me for the hours he spent on the old system, and got the warehouse to open after hours so he could get a new unit at 5:30 pm. We have air conditioning by midnight! He was not able to fix it after several visits and does not answer the phone. AHS would not send another company out. Took a part that was never brought back. Had to contact BBB on both RR and AHS. There is a constant electrical hum when the unit is completely off. 2. Electrical wires are hanging below the ceiling. 3. no drip pan has been installed. 4. Two of the four bolts that hold the unit in the attic were never installed. 5. Water is dripping from the unit onto the floor. 6. The unit in the attic is not enclosed. 7. We are in a condo. Called RR heating and air and received a call back the same day, and a quote that evening after I had sent pictures of my furnace. I was replacing a 40+ year-old furnace. I was looking at a 97% efficiency, but Ray recommended a lower efficiency due to reduced maintenance, After I consulted with my longtime friend from another state in the HVAC business, he agreed. This was related to the difference in the savings and the size of my residence, around 1600 ft.². I also found similar information on the Internet. The furnace was installed three days later and took about a half a day. The job site was immaculate when they left in the furnace installation was a huge improvement over the old one. Came an hour late, treated me like an idiot, couldn't fix the problem. Also careless. My furnace wasn't working and I thought maybe it was the thermostat, so I replaced it. I'm an electrician, and I know I installed it correctly. The RR HVAC guy arrives and doesn't believe me that it was installed properly, so he double-checks all of my work before examining the rest of the furnace. In the process, he manhandled the thermostat so hard that it tore off a chunk of drywall, and when he reinstalled it, he left one of the screws out. Super careless. When I noticed he was missing a tool needed for testing the electronics, I offered to grab one from my garage, but he declined the offer and tried to McGiver his own way around it. It ended up working but took twice as long. Then he finally said the gas valve had to be replaced, but when I asked him some questions about how he diagnosed the problem, he said it was "complicated stuff that only a professional would know how to do." I had another guy come the next day and he was able to fix it in 20 minutes. The gas valve did not need replacing. Avoid these guys like the plague! read more

Run. America Home Shield assigned my broken furnace to this company. They came out on the 4th, then a second time, then on the 17th. The tech couldn't find my house and called me and flipped out. And I quote... "I expect the red carpet rolled out for me when I come to fix your heater" - WOW, who says that right? "You need to drive to me and I will follow you to your house. Knowing its been nearly 3 weeks and I didn't want to start the process over again, I swallowed my pride and apologized, and tried to give directions but he talked over me and said, 'you don't get it, I hate people." Then he shows up 4 hours later, looks at the 3-year-old unit and says' Maytag, we dont work on Maytag, sorry and leaves." NOTE: 3rd time they came out? Then I call spoke to the dispatch person, very sweet and understanding. I shared my experience and she apologized. I did ask if she could figure out what was wrong since it's been 3 weeks w/out the heater I wanted to give the next guy a leg up. I didnt hear back, so I called at 4 pm and guess who answered? Yep, the same tech. He said we had nothing to talk about and he closed the ticket. I would not trust this team w/ my wife home alone. Pay full price and run. read more

I'll say the first two techs that visited my property were pleasent and seemed knowledgable. However after 30min of my 2nd visit my central air was still not working so I called the main line. This is where it goes downhill fast. They have no one answering the call (a sign of a quality company). I left voicemails and sent text messages (had received one from them) to no avail. No response until late evening a woman named "Debbie" called back saying someone the original tech would revisit today. Being the beginning of the hottest week of the year and having a sick child with an infection (fever in triple digits) it was important for me to get this fixed as soon as possible. The second visit never happened. After calling back to see where the tech was, they told me no one could make it today but tomorrow between 10a-2p someone else would come. Again no call, no show. This company was setup by my AHS warranty service. After calling them back they gave me their own run around telling me they needed the official diagnosis from this vendor. It took over a week to get RRHVAC back out. The person who showed up may have been the owner (he kept referring to the other techs as "my guys"). He was pretty rude to my wife, cutting her off mid sentence then trying to blame our AC problems on our electrical. He tried to say $600 repair should cover it. I bet he thought my wife was a push-over. Many hot days and a new servicer later it turns out it's low refrigerant. To sum it up, STAY AWAY FROM RRHVAC. ** Update ** The owner just called me shortly after posting this to harass me, reasserting he knew what he was talking about and that I was just online "talking $##t". I was assigned this company through my warranty company, American Home Shield and unfortunately I have to agree with all of the other reviewers who were assigned them. While they did no actual work on my unit (just diagnosed the issue, which was caused by a previous AHS sub) All I will review is their professionalism which was lacking. First, good luck getting them to answer the phone. If they do answer, they quickly tell you to just text the number and hang up. They aren't even all that responsive to texts (took almost a full day to reply to schedule my appt). The main guy, I spoke to a couple times (never got his name), complains about AHS and their process yet when I requested a copy of the photos their tech took during the visit, he told me, I don't work for you and won't provide the photos to you. I wasn't going to leave a review but I felt this man was quite rude. He even hung up on me when I questioned why they hadn't sent in the report to AHS after a week of being at my house. Overall, I feel this business is poorly managed. I understand HVAC companies are busy during the summer/hotter months but then hire some more help! This absolutely the worst company that I have ever encountered. I don't even know how it possible that this is a licensed company to perform work. Ray is the most disrespectful, unprofessional, person that I have ever encountered. His company was contracted through my home warranty company for a leaking AC. The tech arrived and stated,"this is a really clean home with a nice drain system. They designed it so well you technically don't need this pump because any leak is already flowing to the basin. There is more than likely a clogged line, this will be an easy fix." Fast forward to Pat removing the pump without my consent and then reconfiguring the already existing PVC pipe. The leak was never fixed and water now flows upwards. Additionally Pat made an attempt to take said "broken" pump with him as I would have no use for it. I took the time to reach out the my home warranty company and RR HVAC. My home warranty stated that the technician described the job as "poor drainage system" to which I debated because that was never discussed with me. I was FINALLY able to get a hold of RAY the owner who stands behind his companies crappy work. He would not let me speak. He even went as far as hanging up the phone on me when I made multiple attempts to explain what took place when HIS employee damaged my drainage system. Ray then called back to yell at and berate me saying he would not come back to fix anything and continued this story of a poor drain system as a means to exploit the home warranty company and their employees. He stated he would no longer take calls from me as it is not his issue. The only thing decent about this company is poor Debra who probably has to field all of these calls due to the poor service the techs due as well as the poor customer service that they provide. He explained to me that we "didn't need a Ferrari" and sold us an energy efficient unit for a VERY reasonable cost. The installation personnel were very professional as well. I find it VERY refreshing to find such an honest, forthright, company. I will not hesitate to HIGHLY recommend them to everyone in the future. Best HVAC company I have ever worked with. Two fires in my area in the last two weeks, it's hot out here. Then my AC stopped working. I have MS and two fluffy Alaskan breed dogs so it was a difficult situation RR sent the first man out, he was extremely informative and kind. However, he was unable to fix the immediate situation. Not his fault because the AC appeared to be doing the best it could at the time. The owner of RR reviewed the first guy's notes, and on his own...came to my house a few hours later to be sure I wasn't in an extreme heat situation. Low and behold, the unit went haywire and shut down again right after the owner left. He came back and immediately found the crucial error, fixed it and finally after months of enduring too high heat for my MS, I was able to cool the house to a good temperature. My husband and I were calling around today for help with our mini split. He gave us a quote and my husband told him we're going to call around to a few places. This guy tells "yeah you can get a jackass to come fix it for you who isn't licensed". Then he calls my husband to tell him how dumb he is for doing the install himself for not hiring a professional like him. My husband writes him a bad review for the horrible customer service, but it doesn't end there. He calls my husband and tells me he doesn't care bad reviews are still good publicity. What a wacko! My husband looked into his business and it doesn't match his Craigslist, yelp && California license are all different from one another leading us to believe he isn't really even licensed himself. Professional- I would love to give Ray 5 stars on professionalism, trouble shooting and on time service... in two days came into my house, diagnosed the problem, eliminated the issue, and clearly explained what went wrong and thru it all Ray kept asking me if I understand whats being said in order for him to explain it better. On time- When American Home Shield assigned RR HVAC INC...within 40 minutes received phone call from Ray on 20-Nov Sunday and told me that he is wrapping up job in La Mesa, CA and asked if he can stop by. 30 minutes later Ray showed up and got into attic, long behold identified the problem LIMIT SWITCH. 21-Nov received call from Debra during my work meeting, when returned call Ray answered and gave me the good news that part on hand and he can stop by between 1500-1900 to install it. Showed at 1615 replaced bad part and 30 minutes happy customer with heat and ac working as advertised. Ray came in as RR HVAC INC and left as a friend which I will be hiring for maintenance on my unit moving forward. First phone call to the company: A guy (supposedly named Jason) picks up the call and proceeds to yell angrily that "...his phone was been ringing all day and he's trying to work...and its 100 degrees outside. That people keep leaving him bad reviews. He fixes people's AC and they still write bad stuff. But he doesn't fucking care anymore. If he comes to my house, that I better write a good review. He tells me to send him a text with my info. Tells me he's turning off his phone." He ends his tirade and proceeds to hang up on me! I attempt to get American Home Shield to assign a different vendor, but of course - they won't. Their call center representative insists that I deal with RR HVAC. Second conversation: Same guy answers his phone but uses a different name! The entire time he takes on a rude tone - interrupts, interjects commands, and controls the conversation. I end up getting a different vendor assigned. If you don't want to be in a service industry job, then don't be in one. If you don't want business from a home warranty company, then remove yourself as a vendor. If you don't want people to write poor reviews on Yelp, then don't be a dick. Simple as that. I have to say I am extremely pleased with the result. David came out - the same day I called!!! I could not believe that. Kudos to the lady who scheduled the appointment. She was juggling kids just getting home from school and working me in at the last minute. Thanks - that was awesome customer service. David showed up, we looked at it (the fan had stopped), and he was able to fix it during that visit. He had the parts on the truck and resolved it quickly and efficiently. Selected by AHS (home warranty) for servicing my area and I have to say how impressed I am with the outcome, service, and overall professionalism I received from Dave (tech) and Debra (scheduling). They've come to my house twice now to fix issues for me, both satisfactorily and without any 'protocol' issues with the home warranty company. Honestly it was very seemless. 1) AC unit clogged and needed to be cleared - Dave was the 2nd tech they sent after the 1st didnt quite do the trick. Dave tested his work using a bucket of water and it took him 3 tanks of CO2 to clear the line - he really made sure the problem was fixed before leaving! 2) Heating unit was acting up and he spent 2 hours in attic to diagnose and replace the fan, while also giving advice on my other unit issues that were likely thermostat related (as he checked it all out). Dave also wore shoe bags to protect our carpet and is just overall a very easy to talk with person. Thank you Dave and Debra for your service, this is a company to file and use in the future! I asked him to prove that I had an appointment today but he had ZERO evidence of scheduling an appointment. The guy misdiagnosed the issue, said I needed a voltage regulator, then stole a $50 part (emergency disconnect unit) before he left because I refused his fee for an estimate. He wanted $600 but I hired someone else who replaced the capacitor, a $30 part. There is no voltage regulator on this AC unit! The parts + labor would have been less than $100 but I had to buy the part he stole and pay extra for the labor to install it. read more

He just kinda nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders and left. Finally, I got a random text from Debra at like 1am telling me they "ordered the part". I got that text on 16 September. I opened this work order on 11 August. Ridiculous. When I called to ask for an update after that one, I again got the same "hello? huh" i can't hear you" song and dance from the owner. I'll say it again, the customer service, lack of knowledge (even of themselves), lack of communication and lack of preparedness is as bad as it gets. This is the second time we have had this company out through our warranty, once for the AC and this time for the furnace. The technician Patrick is competent and friendly. He was respectful of our home, knowledgeable and expedient. Will make sure to request him personally for any future issues. Dear owner of RR Heating: I really want to give a great review to your company and AHS! Please help me get my furnace fixed. The part was supposed to be in and I'm not sure why it's taking so long, but the first guy that came out was very knowledgeable and said that since it's an old furnace, it will take some time to the OEM part. We're going onto a month in the coldest and most rain we've had in a long time! I've been able to get some updates via text - unfortunately it's difficult to reach anyone by phone - but that's almost par with any company these days! I will update my post. If only there was a zero star option. Not only was the guy drinking on the job but when I called to talk with the owner I got told that was his best tech and he does honest work. The tech first said that the Freon was too low and the valve was leaking, then he said that it was actually over filled so that was the issue. He claimed he fixed it but it's still not working. Called the owner again and he cussed me out saying I was f*ing stupid. Wouldn't answer my questions and he wouldn't come back out to see it still isn't working. This is the worst company, with the worst owner. Ray has zero customer service skills and Pat is an alcoholic. Do yourself a favor and go with a different company. NEGATIVE FIVE STARS!!! Do yourself a favor and read the other negative reviews as well - the positive ones must be fake! This company - most especially the "owner" Ray - was the most rude, disrespectful, pompous jerk I have ever encountered in any business! Our Home Warranty company (clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel to find shady contractors to save themselves money) sent us RR HVAC and their first interaction was to schedule an initial visit - which my husband took the day off work to be home for, only for Ray to call 5 minutes before the close of the 6 hour window, to say he wasn't showing up. (Little did we know, this was just the first clue to what awaited us with this awful company...) A few days later when RR did bother to show up, the technician arrived, in his personal car, no company logo or identifying info, and didn't even go into the attic to assess the HVAC issue we were having. Instead he proceeded to ask my husband if the shed on our property was empty because he needed a place to live/store his stuff because he was in a messy divorce. (Which is not in itself a big deal - we felt bad for the guy - but this is further illustration of their unprofessional-ism). Then, after the technician confirms the part needs to be replaced (just by asking us about it), we had to deal with Ray again to schedule the replacement of our unit. Over the following week, he either inundated us with calls, or didn't call back for days - no in between. Then, when he finally got in touch and told us the cost that wasn't covered by our warranty we asked for an itemized estimate to see what that cost was for - he WENT OFF on us for daring to question him. We calmly explained that we weren't suggesting he was being dishonest in his quote (although his reaction made us think he may be) that we were simply being smart consumers who wanted to know what they were paying for before paying. He tried to insult us and say "everyone else just gives their money with gratitude, because $1700 isn't a lot of money". Well, it may not be - everything is relative - but I don't know any people (rich or poor), who are good with their money, that don't want to know what they are paying for when they drop nearly two grand. Then, Ray continued to escalate and raise his voice at us, saying he had tons of customers lined up to take his next appointment time and if we didn't take it in the next 15 seconds, we were out of luck. And, that if we questioned him, we "were stupid because we would never find anyone else to do the work as good". (Hahaha) We weren't going to be strong-armed by this Neanderthal who thought treating us like crap was somehow going to fly! Even if your home warranty company tries to send this shady, rude, slime-ball to do your repairs - call and refuse (like we did) - or, if you're looking on your own - choose absolutely ANYONE else! Seriously - I'd rather sit inside my house in 100+ degree weather, wearing all of my sweaters, before ever dealing with this loser again! read more

This company was assigned by American Home Shield to service our condo. We have had to call them no less than 7 times without response and they have yet to honor the AHS assignment and come out to do the service. Not sure why they have a problem responding but this is not good business. We are very frustrated with this companies response time or lack of any. read more

The owner was rude from the minute I spoke with him. Very hostile and arrogant. I didn't end up using him as he was very unprofessional. I feel sorry for his employees. read more
