Had some wood flooring damaged after a pipe burst in my home. Decided to go with wood looking tile…read moreinstead of wood this time. Thought I got a great price ($15K) on the flooring I chose. Tile was beautiful, the installers not so great. Left a hole (missing piece by my staircase and when I pointed this out to them, they said the carpet would cover it. WHAT?! NO!!! Then the grout used would come off a bit every time I cleaned my floors. Went back to the office to speak with Dave the owner. Sent pics, kept saying they would handle it. Nothing. Then stopped accepting my calls and wouldn't return any calls. This went on for a couple of months. Finally took to small claims. Judge ruled in my favor. They sent out another company from Rainbow or Bonsall to fix their mistake. When they showed up, they were told the job was a lot smaller than KC Floors told them it was. They were not happy either. Save yourself and your money from the scam, go elsewhere. Not good people, not good business.

Empire even called the day before to confirm, only to call again on the day of installation and say the carpet was on backorder. This happened three separate times. After the third time, my parents had enough, so I suggested they call Flatout Flooring. (I had also recommended them to my grandparents a few years ago.) From start to finish, Flatout Flooring was incredibly easy to work with. My parents ended up getting a beautiful high-end carpet with quality padding, and everything was installed exactly as promised on the scheduled date. The installers were professional and pleasant, and the finished product looks phenomenal. The quality is far better than what they were originally planning to get. If you're in the market for new flooring, I definitely recommend giving Flatout Flooring a call. They'll save you a lot of stress, frustration, and headaches.

I would NOT recommend Marko to my friends…read more 1. Poor flooring installation One of my floor board cracked after 3-4 months, which is not acceptable. The quality of the core job is not there. And this crack is only after 3-4 months of installation so the cause of cracking must be either related to improper installation or material. But Marko said he checks all the boards before installing - so the material should have been good - then the reason is probably installation (unless Marko failed to check the board before installing). No prior event of dropping heavy objects and my household is quiet. Only normal uses of the floor. I reached out, because I am covered under his lifetime warranty - he said he would come. On the day of service, he did not show up -and he forced me via text to delete my yelp review of him and promise to never write a review about him - he said he would not honor his lifetime warranty until I do so. The warranty should not be contingent to the review. He was invading my consumer rights of sharing my frank experience. I told him that I will update my review properly after the repair - which is how it should be. He rejected. He later changed his mind for some reason and texted me "you better delete that review once I repair it" - at that point, I was not even confident that he would really take care to repair this, and yet I wanted to resolve this gracefully so I decided to give this another shot and we arranged for his visit. And guess what, he did not keep up with the appointment again (and failed to notify me), highlighting his lack of professionalism again. On a separate note, somehow, he knew exactly the location of the crack from a simple photo I shared here - as if he knew about this in advance. Very skeptical. There are multiple locations in my home that may look like the photo. 2. Lack of details Overall his finishing details were not there - most of the baseboard joints or nail holes were not painted, he spilled some of the flooring glue to the flooring product which left the marks. What was very frustrating was that he handed me over the paint and told me that I could paint those junctions if I wanted - I paid him for the full service, why do I have to paint those? In the end I had to call him back to get those done but then it took him over a month to come back. And even then, the job was not done completely. I did not bother to call him again because I didn't want to deal with it again. 3. Communication challenge When I asked him technical questions, he was not able to (or did not care to) address them. I had concerns about some of his approaches and asked him to share the technical rationale, but he never replied with the responses he promised to share. Not sure if he did not have info or did not care to respond back (he said he was busy, but then I noticed that he kept uploading posts on his Instagram) - but either way, it was frustrating. I also felt that he is a bit old-fashioned in his approach and that he has done things in a certain way, without specific technical knowledge - which could be partly driving such lack of ability to share specific technical details logically. And at some point, he seemed very annoyed by my asking questions (he expressed this in his communication) - which I also found very frustrating. As a customer I think I have right to ask and understand what is being done to my house, so that I can make an informed decision - but then, he was not respectful on that end. He also did not consult with me sufficiently before getting things done - and then I discovered that the jobs were done to the stage where I cannot reverse back and I just had to accept what was done (lesson learned for me too - that you should be always present and available while the job is being done) - and when I asked him that I wanted certain ways, he responded saying that he then cannot guarantee his work - then I replied back to him asking then how he could guarantee and defend some of the pitfalls with his approach - and he did not respond. Prior to getting my business, Marko was very responsive and available, and threw all these promising words - once I hired him, he is not the same person. After this updated encounter, I could clearly conclude that it is even worse - he doesn't behave professionally, doesn't put customers first, and try to threaten customers. As a young woman, this was quite frustrating and scary.

Dealing with stone anything can be very complicated, cutting, setting, sealing, cleaning, polishing, repairing all these things are very technical and need to be handled by a professional like 911 or you can easily ruin your beautiful stone if you're not careful. Maybe at some point this store was great, but my recent experience with this place has been a…read moreheadache from the beginning. The time to receive our flooring was ridiculous and the cherry on top was the unprofessionalism the whole situation was dealt with. The communication was the absolute worst, customer service wasn't any better and instead of trying to be helpful we got scolded for contacting the manufacturer directly. Not to purchase additional material, but to simply get an exchange since we got sent the wrong shade on accident. If the communication was there we would have reached out to this business directly, but it hasn't been, so we saved ourselves the headache and contacted the manufacturer. Never will be spending our money here or recommending it to anyone.
