Had some wood flooring damaged after a pipe burst in my home. Decided to go with wood looking tile instead of wood this time. Thought I got a great price ($15K) on the flooring I chose. Tile was beautiful, the installers not so great. Left a hole (missing piece by my staircase and when I pointed this out to them, they said the carpet would cover it. WHAT?! NO!!! Then the grout used would come off a bit every time I cleaned my floors. Went back to the office to speak with Dave the owner. Sent pics, kept saying they would handle it. Nothing. Then stopped accepting my calls and wouldn't return any calls. This went on for a couple of months. Finally took to small claims. Judge ruled in my favor. They sent out another company from Rainbow or Bonsall to fix their mistake. When they showed up, they were told the job was a lot smaller than KC Floors told them it was. They were not happy either. KC Flooring is a joke. They never finished the job and left our house mess and we had to finishing it ourselves. nd wasn't even installed but the countertops where done. I called and they never came back. gave us our key back that we gave them to finish. In the end we had cut the countertops myself to now top mount the sink, install the faucet, finish the base boards and the trim where the carpet meets the laminate. Hello, I've been sitting here trying to decide how to begin this review of KC Flooring and More of Lake Elsinore; feeling a bit overwhelmed with how to put my most heartfelt respect, admiration, and appreciation of Mr. Dave Carlton, the owner of the business, into words. The truth of the matter is that, I cannot. So, I will simply state the facts and let them speak for themselves. When I started my home improvement project, my friends told me to, "beware of anyone who makes time-based promises." However, in this particular instance, a time-based promise is what I needed; this is to say, I needed the new flooring in my home to be installed by a particular date in order for the remainder of the project to succeed, on time. I keep thinking about the first time I met Dave Carlton; you see, I scheduled 6 (six) flooring vendors to be at my home, on the same day, in order to make bids. Of the five vendors who actually showed-up on "big day" (smile) Dave was the quietest of them all. Unlike the other vendors, he did not brag about his technical prowess; he did not attempt to convince me how honest he was; he did not regale me with cautionary tales of how others later regretted not using his services; he didn't even tell me how lovely my house was (smile). You know what he did? Unlike the others, he entered my home with an air of gracious confidence and old-world professionalism. Instead of glad-handing me with a sales pitch, he immediately focused his attention on my home, taking-in every detail. He was so calm and quiet that I honestly thought that he was not interested in doing the job. Then he turned to me and asked some very specific questions that none of the others had asked. After I answered, he began measuring every inch of the house. He did this without bravado or fanfare. The house was his primary focus. So, I left him to it, thinking, "Well, this guy isn't going to get my business." Yes, it's true, I was jealous of the attention he was paying to the house, rather than to me. After the others left the house, Dave was just finishing up with his measurements. I explained about the extent of my vision loss and this did not seem to faze him, in the slightest, a nice surprise, I can assure you. Before leaving, he assured me that he would send me a quote before the end of business, that day. At this point, I began questioning my own behavior during that day as I realized that Dave was the only person who actually discussed new flooring for my house. As he exited the front door of the house I jokingly asked him the size of one of the areas in my home; he stopped, looked down at his notes, and answered the question with such precision that I was left speechless. The quote arrived, as promise. Now I don't want to write a novel but the truth of the matter is that my experience in Dave's showroom was something that I will never forget. While in his shop, Dave made me feel safe; as a person with limited eyesight, this is a rare feeling for me when in a new environment. Even though he had other customers in the store, no matter what he was doing, he kept me in line-of-sight and, when he had to go and answer the phone or tend to another customer, kept me informed as to where he was in the store at all times by saying things like, "I'm over here Mark; are you okay?" To a visually impaired person, such consideration is worth more than solid gold, believe me. I could go on and on but the essence of my message is that Mr. Dave Carlton is an honorable man who kept every single promised we agreed to in our contract. And, "yes," not only did he and his team complete the outstanding work on time, they actually completed it ahead of schedule. Dave took all of my calls and when I left voicemail messages, he returned my calls, the same day. He kept me informed of the ordering, shipping, and installation status, every single day, without fail. These are the facts and I think they say a great deal. Once again, Dave and KC Floors came through with flying colors. I went in looking for tile because I have naughty little dogs, but my husband really wanted carpeting. Dave showed us a waterproof, stain proof product that met my husband's requirement for softness and my requirement for ease of cleaning. And the carpeting works... We just need catch the soiled area and clean it, and we have no stain and no odor. The installation was flawless. I actually came in the week prior to order the carpet. My card didnt get charged till the following week. Again, you have proven yourself and business to be untrustworthy. As I told you before, I will never do business with your company again and will make sure that I advice everyone I know to not do business with you. I came to you knowing your grade D reputation and you lived up to it. And as for your carpet, if I wanted 9 ft of carpet, I would have ordered 9 ft. but I didn't, I ordered specific size 10.5ft x 6.5ft and was advised that "that's not an issue, It only comes in one size" so dont make it sound like you went out of your way. Hell, you couldn't even delivery to my house during the time you said you would. Seems latency and timeliness is one of your guys major downfalls, just look through your other reviews. read more

This company had ups and downs for us. We had an outdoor counter top put in and they came and gave the estimate fast which was a good price. However, when it came to scheduling the office personal just tell you a date to get you off the phone. They don't have accurate schedules and when they say they'll double check and find out then call you back, they don't call you back. Then when they came they didn't do all of the work and had to come back another week because the installer was apparently unaware of the full scope of work he was to be doing. The scheduling and organization is poor but the installation did come out good. read more

Not happy with my carpet! The owner, typical high pressure sales guy, told me that it would never get flat like our previous cheap carpet so I spent the extra money to upgrade the pad & get better quality carpet. Now, a couple years later, it's very flat & faded in several spots. They put vinyl in my bathroom that was clearly not cut correctly because there's always been a big gash by the door yet they refused to fix it. Had to beg them to come out & finish the baseboards, shouldn't have bothered because they look awful. In addition, they didn't caulk the floor correctly because the edges started peeling up not long after &, no, I do not get the floor wet, I know better. I feel like I got ripped off & jipped! I DO NOT recommend KC Flooring! read more

In July KC Floors and More was highly recommended to me. Dave the owner was great he came over the next day to get measurements and give us some suggestions. In August when we got the keys to our newly built house and scheduled our floor instillation. First we were told 2 guys would start on Monday and be finished by Thur/Friday. On Monday we asked the 1 man who was there if he we should cover all of our brand new ceiling fans and stove. He said No he would cover those items. On Tuesday we stopped by the house. The ceiling fans and stove were not covered and he was using a table saw in my living room! When I called Dave to complain he replied "it's a construction zone it's supposed to be dirty." Dave was really rude and had the your a woman attitude (when my male cousin who recommended KC floors) called his whole attitude changed. They didn't finish until the following Wednesday. An additional $300 had to be spent to have my house cleaned along with the painters being rescheduled. Afterwards we had to call Dave numerous times because of quarter round that wasn't attached and more importantly air pockets in our floor. After some calls he sent the guys back out to fix the air pockets. We still have them. After a month and more calls with zero response or empty promises we still have air pockets in sections of our floors. 2500sq feet of flooring,1000s of $ spent and no response = A waste of time n money to a company that should not be given a single star. read more

We contracted KC Flooring to install carpet in our home. They sent two installers who appeared to have never performed carpet work before. They took two 10 hour days to do what a third party has claimed is an 8 hour job. On top of that they left nails throughout the carpet one of which I stepped on barefoot causing bodily harm. The carpet installation was horrendous, seams were not properly done carpet was above the baseboards in some places and below it in others. The top of the carpet was cut open by the poor installation team. Nothing was properly stretched. The stairway is a joke. I can literally place my hand behind the the carpet in several places because it is sticking out so far. Nobody should ever use this company. They are not professionals. I offered to let Dave the owner come view the situation to fix it. Not once did he apologize. He blamed his office for having the wrong crew. It's his office, his responsibility. I told him the tear in the top of the carpet needed to be replaced. I paid for new carpet, his response was he would see what his installer said. I cannot believe the rudeness of this company. They also promised us a rebate check. When we asked about it they gave us the run around and we still have never seen it. ^^UPDATE^^ 2/15/2017 Installed carpet is now coming up in several locations. We were told they would come back because they were missing parts to complete the installation and they never showed up. We have contacted the owner and he says the office will schedule to get back out. This has not happened. We are now filing a complaint with the contractors state license board. Dave Carlton cannot be trusted. I hired him and his installers to install vinyl flooring at a condo that I own. The work they completed was done well but they never finished the job. I made arrangements twice for my tenant to be at the unit and the installers failed to show both days to finish the job. I made two previous payments, one to get started and one when work was near completion. The third and final payment was charged to my Visa card without checking with me to review the project and determine if everything had been completed properly. He also charged for material that was never used and never purchased. I hired them because they were faster than HD and I needed to get the job done quickly. Beware! read more

Not happy!are kids finally moved out and we wanted nice carpet in the two spare rooms.My wife picked out directional berber carpet.So the day of install was going good till my wife came to me and said why is the carpet going different ways so i asked the intallers and he told me that the carpet came from the mill not cut straight by 4 inches and then told me to just keep one of the doors shut WOW!You would think the installers would have said something to us before laying the carpet but no or they cut the carpet wrong. so i called and spoke with michelle she said someone will call me back so dave called me and said i gave him the wrong measurements and he has to talk to his installers and he will call me back no phone call back to this day.If i gave them the wrong measurement why do i have two rooms with carpet in them but one is the wrong way?very poor customer service and will never use this company again. read more

Honestly I wasn't going to write any reviews regarding this company and it's services provided. The entire experience was laid to rest until they emailed us and wanted to know if could write a review. Ok.. so first things first ! I like the flooring. But I WOULDN'T EVEN want to give them a 1 star rating due to them being very unprofessional and their lack of miscommunication. The entire process of installation itself was such a painful process. It was all due to lack of miscommunication. At fist when we met with the sales representative of the company ( We were referred through one of our very good friends) he only spent a short time with us during the appointment. He did explain the basics but that was it. We thought we would actually gain some product knowledge meeting with him but he was out the door in 5 min. We had to visit the local Home depot to get more info The only reason we went along with this company because the quote for the flooring fit our budget. The contractors took almost 4 days to finish a living room and 1 bedroom ( the job started on a very late Wednesday afternoon and ended on Saturday afternoon). The first day they arrived 2 hours late .The last day they left at 10:50pm IN THE NIGHT ( to be exact) and they still had to send one of guys to work on Saturday for about 2 hours. Anyways after going through this very frustrating process we called the office to let them know. It didn't seem like they really cared what we went through. My husband called and spoke to the same salesperson who visited us but there was no follow through at all. I called and left several messages but NEVER received a response nor a courtesy call. We were NOT looking for a discount when we called your office ! We just wanted to feel empathized and valued being your customers. And also for you to take responsibility on your end for the lack of miscommunication and not being very well organized with the materials during the installation. BOTTOM LINE .. I have seen some of the bad reviews and was surprised. I have had a great experience with KC Flooring right from the start. Dave could not have been nicer while we were trying to choose our flooring material. He let us take home large samples so that we could choose the best fit for our needs. When it came time to scheduling, they were very flexible with our calendar and actually fit us in last minute. The work crew that came showed up 15 minutes early each day and installed the floors - they were polite and professional. At the end of the workday, they cleaned up and left the next day's work neatly in a corner. We will eventually cover most of our house with the flooring, and they have worked with us to do it in sections. I would use this company again without reservation. read more

I've used KC Flooring twice in the past, and felt confident using them a third time, but this time it was not as expected. I understand that at times delays can occur with product, but to not have open communication with the customer was very disappointing. I had to be the one to follow up with them on more than one occasion to check status on the installation. Please refer to the post by Michele H. on 12/26/19....most of this is true. Since the flooring we originally ordered was on back order and then "not on the container" we were told to choose another product so we could get some flooring installed. What's not true is the flooring we chose to replace the product we originally wanted was an upgrade. Yes, I did ultimately refuse the installation because that particular flooring felt super thin and didn't come with the premium attached cork pad that I saw on the sample in the store, which was very noticeable - the only thing that matched was the color. It also came in a box labeled APEX and not COASTAL (which was the product name on the sample in the shop). The square footage listed on the box also didn't match up. We decided to wait for the original flooring we wanted and then had to go through two different installers to finally get the job done which was completed on 01/02/20. I'm thankful that it's finally all done and I waited since I'm happy with quality of the flooring and the way it looks. Nonetheless, they really need to work on better communication with the customer. They should have been in contact with me, not the other way around. I would have had no problems waiting if this were the case. Instead, it became a very frustrating situation. On a final note....I was NOT offered any type of discount as mentioned by the manager in response to Michele's Yelp, but that's OK. My floors are finally in and I'm ready to move on. read more
