I decided to get a bicycle for my commute to work. The RTC Bike Center was the first place I looked at. The technician there, John was really helpful and gave me some advice and suggestions. I went to 4 other bike shops but came back here to purchase a bicycle. I am very happy with my purchase but the customer service is outstanding. I have been back a couple of times to have adjustments done and every time John always is so upbeat and friendly. He is always talking with others and has plenty of good stories to tell. Between the Gunshots Yelling Alcohol consumption and horrible customer service calls you better pray before boarding any of these buses! I've even witnessed a lit cigarette being smoked and the driver did not care! Transdev is the contractor that employees RTC drivers. They are also no help in addressing these issues. Late buses with no consequences except the people and children waiting in the Las Vegas heat! So much for keeping a job that I'm going to be late to and get fired from. Truly a joke of a system. I went riding with my son on a particular weekend, where the Las Vegas strip was only filled with "bike riders", mostly groups of families and friends. This was a fun night! Especially since we have been home for over 2 months, due to social distancing. I thought to rent bikes, and going for a ride might be just what we need, to bring our morale up! I was so excited to start our tour (even though we are locals) that I didn't really read the instructions well enough. Because of my mistake, I was charged for late fees and going over the allowed time. I contact their customer service eminently, in regards, and they were nothing but helpful and understanding with me. They ended up refunding me the whole amount charged, even though it was my fault for these charges. Personally, I think their personnel exceeded with their customer service, they were nothing but understanding, especially in these hard times we are all facing together as a nation. I want to recommend their services to anybody out there, that is trying to experience something new or just to fall in love with bike riding again. Where to start? Pros: - John is the man. He will even teach you how to inflate your tires! (Tell him I sent you.) - There are bikes, clean showers, lockers and restroom facilities exclusive for members (I cannot recall how much membership was, but it was not expensive), air pumps, now only one remaining chair, and if you have to park your bike outside: roving armed guards who seemingly deter theft enough so one's vehicle is still there upon return. YMMV. (Lock your fucking bike up correctly [that includes the saddle, yo.]) - New!: There is a bike stand outside. It even has tools (if any of you steal them ....) Cons: - Those same armed guards may entirely too trigger-happy so you may end up being collateral damage if you resemble a zombie or are talking to one when they are put down. - Only open from 7AM to 7PM (although, parking outside is open twenty-four hours, obviously). Neither Pro nor Con: - So-called Zombie Apocalypse taking place outside. Some days they are ultimately entertaining, on others they want to make you just cry . Do not ride your bike within the curtilage of the BTC. There is an N.R.S. for that and I have heard -- although never actually witnessed -- guards are quick to get on you about it. Never experienced it myself, I prefer to strut about while steering my bike by the head. Yeah, I am cool like that. A local bike shop that operates out of the RTC Bonnavile transit hub. I've bought a bike here and have had various repairs/upgrades done. The staff is friendly , knowledgable and don't try to upsell you. As a matter of fact , the staff is always open to engage in bike talk regardless of what you ride. This particular shop also have a bathroom with showers that is available to members for a very minimal fee. The parent shop of this place is Las Vegas Cyclery. This shop doesn't have as many accessories as a full blown shop but they have all the essentials. Repair costs are affordable. Another guy changed the tube, not the tire cost 15 . So not even 5 MINUTES LATER OF LEAVING THIS PLACE FRONT BIKE TIRE POPS!! HE CHARGED me 50 to change tire and tube since he didn't check the tire to begin with!!! Scam!I'm paying for your mistake!!!!!! Update same day so I personally called them told them they should not have charged for a second tube explained to him how it was wrong he wasn't rude or anything though I did not like the fact he says " why dint he tell me that when he was here?" .... ummm that's not the point the point is you know better and you know what you were doing period. Ok during the shutdown i bought a bike it wasn't in the best of shape and had these ugly tires that were orange. I wanted new tires tires changed and tubes because a slow leak and new grips for the handles. Eleven months later with 3 phone calls from them in-between asking if I was ok with the time it took I told them its fine because everything going on shipping of products will take longer and I knew the white walls were worth it. Finally I got the call your bike is ready excited I rushed over I was thrilled with the tires they didn't replace the grips tho. I figured the bikes been there long enough and didn't mention it . Paid $89.69 was moderately happy but then in the morning tire was flat eleven months and they couldn't even give me new tubes I even asked for them at the start when I called to talk to someone was giving the run around excuses and no call back to try to resolve the issue I was nothing but nice to them and respectful because of everything going on but I don't recommend them not very professional and over priced I saw how much my tires cost online and it was half what I paid if your going to charge for a service please give the customer what they want . I work in pizza if a guest ask me for a pizza and I give them a side of fries instead are they going to except it i wouldn't but I gave them what they asked for and what they wanted the first time round. I had to wait a few months to put this on because I wanted to be sure I gave them enough time to call and try to resolve this before I put on word down. read more

I have a membership at RTC bike Center, $30 for 6 months. It's absolutely fantastic and so convienent towards my life. I work downtown area at the Justice Court during the weekdays, all i have to do is wake up, throw my business clothes into my bag and wear my cycle bike gear on. Ride down Alta/Bonneville(One of Las Vegas's great bike lanes to ride through) arrive shortly from my house to the bike shop. Clean up with a shower and throw my gear in my personal locker. And have a friendly coffee sip with the provided kuerig coffee maker the bike shop has for members only. And then 20 till 8am I walk down the street to clock in for work. Life is GREAT! I never have to worry about not having enough excercise into my day and Im twice as much more productive and cheery during my day because of the power of cardio excercise and getting your heart rate going. ***One request probably i would reccomend to the manager or owner of the Bike Center is to provide filtered water to fill up water bottles and for the coffee. Additional Covid-19 changes not reflected on Yelp are that the bus terminal in which this store is located is under lockdown and only 1 customer can enter the store at a time. Additionally, only 1 door to the terminal is open and entry is strictly regulated. When I called about getting some repairs done, I was not advised of the entry issues. There was a customer in the store when I arrived, so I was not allowed entry and advised to wait; however, there was also a large line of people waiting to get in the terminal to use the restroom and people milling around all over. I needed some adjustments to my sons' mountain bike so I brought it in and I couldn't have been happier with the service. The mechanic, George, was friendly and fast. I watched him interact with other customers who seemed to be regulars and was impressed how friendly the atmosphere was. I am very satisfied with the work done. This was probably one of the worse experiences I've have with one of these types of company. First, the website along with the bike stations states that for a 24 hour pass is $5.. not true whatsoever. They charge your card $26 dollars and keep it as a hold for days even after returning the bike. You only get to use the bike for 30minutes intervals which is stupid in my opinion if it's suppose to be a 24 hours pass for the day. After learning that they charged my card over $50 dollars for two bikes for 30 minutes, I called just to be told that they cannot help me by returning the money to my card and that I could leave a suggestion. Overall, it was a terrible experience and honestly not worth the time or money you're going to spend doing it. read more

I want to file a compliant about a staff at the RTC downtown bike center. His name is John. About two weeks ago, I took my bike over for flat tire problem, he charged me about $15, but he did not tell me that he only replaced the tube without changing the old tire which I just found out today. I ride my bike a week after it was fixed, but my bike went flat tire again, I called John and he told me to take it over for checking. I went there today, John dined everything I said, and I was being insulted and mistreated by him, he was so rude and yell at me all the time. Great place to get your Bicycles tuned up! Took a bike I bought cheap, asked Mark to replace missing Brake pads and check my flat tires and tune it up.. he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Told me he would go through the bike and call me if anything else needed attention.. he finished in half the time.. and let me know the parts he replaced and adjusted and informed me about a part that may need to replaced in the future. This was my second time visiting this spot to fix my bike and both times I had a really good experience. If it's not John helping me out with a flat tire it's Jo helping me out with a whole lot of tire changing, chain changing, gear changer, and a lot of other things.. man its so helpful and pleasant knowing that you can get the help you need at a reasonable price and having someone go through everything with you step by step so you are not left in the dark with problems that could be a issue down the road..
