My first time using movers so I was very nervous, but Chapparal moving was the only moving company that would give me a quote thru email after I filled out their questions from their website. Every other place would spam call you, but due to my work I can't sit on the phone and talk just to get a quote. SUPER fast responses, and good pricing. Didn't price gouge and the price the quoted was exactly what I paid. I even had to move up my moving date and they were so great about moving my reservation to accommodate. I think everything was done within 3 hours, and they even offered haul away service as well for 2 couches I didn't need anymore. They already came highly recommended from a friend who has used them a few times herself, and I will also be recommending them to anyone looking for movers.

The "owner" will say she didn't know there was a 2 hr minimum. His movers that he hired, to put in my place DID know there was a 2 hr minimum and still asked the girl who opened the door to do most of it, then, they grabbed her butt. I made this move as easy as possible. I locked the cats away, took the drawers from one of the dressers down. They had 4 things to move and I asked (with the 2 hr minimum) to bring down a piece of glass and a filing cabinet, which they assured me they would do and they did not. They left all the dresser drawers in the old apartment as well as the couch cushions and everything else they were supposed to move. I'm concerned they know where I live and would never let them near a place with children. Even after I blocked the phone number of the guy who sexually harassed and assaulted, he then found a new phone number to text from. Completely inappropriate and disgusting, didn't Actually do the move and the owner is taking ZERO responsibility. He put these predators in my house with a single female, his employees tried to take advantage of another female by herself in several ways and then tried to blame someone else when the people he employs KNOW there's a 2 hr minimum and tried to con someone else into doing it.

And the truck arrived with 1/3 of it open and all the bins dumped over!!! They busted a full jug of laundry detergent all over our stuff and ruined shoes and some furniture. I will say the guys (not firefighters) were kind...just young and not trained on how to treat other people's things. The warning here is to supervise the whole process. I came around a corner and they were casting my fishing poles and swing my clubs...goofing off. I have called management and no one has contacted me to even apologize.

Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again.

Everything arrived at the destination in perfect condition. We even got compliments from the receiving movers that Simon and crew did a good job loading the container. We packed everything ourselves and used our own moving blankets, boxes, crates, wraps, etc. No stairs were involved. We highly recommend Simon and crew.

We had issues with Bobcat Movers not taking great care of our belongings. We only had them move…read morefurniture and a refrigerator. They didn't bring an appliance dolly, and I SPECIFICALLY told them to be careful with the refrigerator so as not to tear the flooring -- and then they tore up the flooring in our brand new home. They did pay our repair person to fix this but there's no reason they should not have had the proper equipment to move the refrigator as it was on our inventory. We then found a dent in the door of said brand new refrigerator. We then discovered the master bedroom dressor is coming apart, and the drawers no longer work because of this. Also a brand new piece of furniture. They didn't handle things with care. They were in a hurry to get to their next job that afternoon, and quality suffered.
