The only redeeming part of this review was the appetizers. They actually had taste. The pasta courses were atrocious. The bucatini was worse than butter noodles and Parmesan cheese at home. Just absolutely tasteless. The rigatoni was decent at best but was served to us luke warm. The brown butter ravioli was also tasteless. I don't know how you can drowned flavors out of food but this kitchen is great at it. To top it off at the end when the service was not very good. Our server said Ethan Stoll is getting rid of tipping so you don't have to worry about it. Lucky for them because the service and timing of food wasn't anything exceptional. A new Italian place, seeing this I knew I had to try it out. Noticed this place pop up after Redmond added yet another apartment building, so we finally decided to create reservations for 7:45. After arriving it took a couple minutes for them to fix a table, and after being seated a couple more for a waiter to approach us. The place had a very open concept with a open kitchen and high ceilings. It was more of a casual vibe with it being very noisy and not a recommended place to take a date and more of a mid to high price range dinner. One thing we quickly noticed was the inexperience from the waiters, from them not understanding basic commodity like giving a bottle opener with a bottle Ayinger. Or having an understanding what components are in a meal, though it makes sense with them having an automatic 22% gratuity to the restaurant itself and not the servers. After all this it kind of makes up for it with the food, once are order was in we were served with are meals in about 10 minutes. The food was very flavorful and the dishes showed a very authentic freshness that I enjoyed. I would recommend getting your pasta dish spicier because I do know without the added spice it lacks the flavor we enjoyed. I highly recommend the focaccia though with it being some of the most fluffy and flavorful bread I've ever had! In conclusion I recommend this place if your looking for a fresh pasta dish with a lively environment. We were a party of 9 and there to celebrate a birthday. We were lucky and got seated in the private glass room with a table large enough to seat all of us comfortably. Food: 4.5 - We ordered 9 entrees and approximately 10-12 appetizers. For dessert, we went with a couple of orders of the Zeppole (like donut holes) and the gelato. All the dishes we had this evening were very well executed. Service: 1.5 - Needs refinement. The evening started off fine. We started off with drinks and then ordered a series of appetizers. Soon after, we ordered our entrees. Food Delivery: We ordered 9 entrees, however when our dishes came out, only 1 was delivered. Then for about 15-20 minutes nothing else came out. Then 2 more trickled in. A few minutes later the rest arrived. This was around 9pm when our main courses came, so the restaurant was not that busy. They close at 10. It was awkward since people in our party were polite and would wait to start on their dinner until everyone received their meal. Server: After our dinners were served, OUR SERVER NEVER RETURNED. We were done eating for some time and waiting. Apparently, after we went searching for him another server told us that he clocked out & left but forgot to tell anybody we were still here. So basically, HE ABANDONED US in the middle of dinner. Not even a courteous check-in or even a word to say, "My shift is ending, but 'Bob' will be taking over and will take care of you." To-Go Boxes: After we figured out who was now serving us, we kindly asked for to-go boxes. Two of the servers were nice enough to take the dish from my wife and another friend and boxed their meals for them. But then another server returned and when I went to hand him my plate, he handed me a bunch of empty boxes basically saying, "Here, do it yourself." Overall: We were there to celebrate our friend's birthday. This was the place he chose, so of course we did not make a fuss over any of this. We ordered a considerable amount of food and tried a wide variety of your menu. Kudos to the kitchen staff, however front of the house (i.e. the Servers) needs refinement. And if you're wondering, even after all of this, we still tipped an acceptable gratuity. In summary... The food is good. The location is great and the restaurant is bright and pleasant. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, then another 20 minutes for anyone to come by to offer us a drink or take our order. My fiancé and I have been looking for good Italian food in the area for a couple of years and just got around to trying this place and we were thoroughly impressed! We had the salumi board which had a great selection of meats with some cheese on top and was a great start to our meal. For our entrees we had the rigatoni and the tonnarelli with meatballs added and both were awesome! The rigatoni definitely had some spice to it but nothing overwhelming and the tonnarelli had amazing texture and the noodles were perfectly cooked. As for service, we were seated right away at around 5:45 PM. The service was fast and we were able to get assistance whenever we needed during the meal. Our waiter Ash was very helpful in making sure we had what we needed and were also checked on by the managers. We were sitting pretty close to the kitchen and I watched multiple dishes come out and be ready to be run to the table. They were always quickly retrieved and when one was sitting, an employee was quick to yell "service" and someone would run the food within a minute. Overall, we felt very welcomed and not rushed through our meal. For the ambiance, it was a cute spot that seemed slightly more upscale than a typically restaurant but not necessarily to the point where you have to dress up. There were groups of co-workers and families there and it seemed to be a warm environment for all. For parking, I recommend parking at the Porch and Park garage around the corner as you can take the elevator straight up to the restaurant. The food here is solid, not a huge menu but what they do they do right. They have all the ingredients you need for a fun place and wonderful food. We were here pretty early so we ate off the happy hour menu which was nice, the bartender poured a great drink, and the couches are nice to sit on after your meal and hang out. I will be curious about the upcoming winter months as the area has a great outdoor section which really makes the space. We will be back to try a few more dishes and to venture off the happy hour menu. We have been using Tavolata as our Friday afternoon cocktail spot for a while and enjoying the wonderful surroundings, views of the park and ok priced drinks (during happy hour that is). We finally decided to sit down and eat something in the restaurant. The first thing we noticed is that they had changed their Burrata and grilled peaches appetizer which was amazing and which we enjoyed all summer to a pine nut and burrata concoction which is nice but, darn i missed the peaches For main course we did 2 pastas and the pork rack. The pasta dishes were very nice, we thought the pork was great until we got to the bone pieces to find it was way undercooked. Im not a fan of rare pork chops Overall, it's a fantastic location, we love the drinks, the pasta dishes are nice if a little pricey and we will not be ordering pork there again. We will be back lots to take in cocktails and apetizers in the beautiful bar area but our visits to the restaurant area will be limited. read more

We've been here several times already since it opened. The bagels are as close to New York style as anything I've tried since I've been to New York. On the smaller side, but dense and chewy. Perfect texture. I could eat these all day. The only downside is that they don't have whole-wheat or multi-grain bagels. Although one of the other reviews mentions a wheat bagel so maybe we missed that? The flavors are a bit limited. However, the toppings are just great. I highly recommend either the shallot or the garlic. Awesome caramelized toppings make these amazing. My husband is partial to the rosemary. The first few times we went they did not have drip coffee, which was disappointing. Now, they have amazing drip coffee making it the perfect place for breakfast. read more

I usual try to get 3 cinnamon raisin and 3 other type of bagels. Most of the time they do not have 3 cinnamon raisin bagels available and kindly offer me others but the cinnamon raisin are the family favorite. I asked if cinnamon raisin were not a desired by others. They told me they were one of the biggest sellers so I asked why they do not make more to have them available. The clerk told me they want to sell the others too. I hope they get their act together and figure out what sells and what does not. read more

Our family went to Tavolata for the first time yesterday. I had been hesitant to visit due to the initial unflattering reviews on yelp. One initial disappointment was the very limited amount of parking available in the building. After circling the garage, I ended up searching for on-street parking. Luckily I was able to find a space nearby. Given how crowded street parking is typically in this area and the very limited number of public parking lots in Redmond, I think this will be a major deterrent to visiting this restaurant in the future. We sat in the lounge since that was the only reservable space (oddly outdoor seating was listed). The seats were comfortable, but it was a little awkward to eat plated meals from these seats. The food and wine were very good but not much different from the other nice Italian restaurants in Redmond. The waitress had a verbal kids menu but it would've been nice to have a printed menu with pricing and options for kids drinks (maybe there was, but it was not mentioned). The pricing here was higher than felt warranted. Compared to other the other Italian places in Redmond which we've visited recently, the prices were 25-30% higher while not being substantially different quality/taste-wise. Unfortunately the high prices will likely prevent us from visiting again for a while. Luckily there are other excellent Italian restaurants at a better price point (and easier parking). read more
