I came in for my birthday free meal. The cashier (Bryson) was particularly helpful. A meal is always just a bit better when the employees seem to be enjoying their job. I ordered the Baja Combo plate. A burrito, a fish taco and beans/chips side. This location seems to be a notch better at the size of the burrito. I generally substitute black beans for both the side and on the burrito. It was as tasty as always, but I find I need to add some of their salsa to add to the general flavor. As a side note, Rubios picante salsa is terrible, however all of the other fresh made salad are enjoyable. I came with a friend, and the food was more than enough to split for lunch. Its location is convenient for parking, but it is busy and can take a few minutes to get the fresh made food. read more

Ordered on DoorDash and I received someone else's order, so I decided to reorder. Big mistake! When my order arrived, I realized it was my first order that had been sitting out for an hour. The food was cold and inedible; in addition two meals ordered contained the wrong protein. I received a $5 credit from DoorDash for the wrong items which does not equate, but whatever. My issue now is that I can no longer order from Rubio's even through Ubereats; every time I try, my order gets cancelled. This is BS!!!! The Dasher and the store were at fault for the issues I had and now I am getting punished for it. They didn't lose any money. They never remade my order! I have an enjoyable meal here. I went with the 3 street taco meal. The meal includes 3 tacos with your choice of chicken or steak. Plus beans and chips. I went with the steak and extra beans to add to my tacos. The steak was tasty and I received a good portion of meat. While this is a fast food Mexican style of food it's still enjoyable to eat. Service was very nice and quick. I enjoyed the salsa bar with the different salsa options. I appreciate that they are labeled and it looks good and presentable. Who wants a dirty salsa bar. There are also limes available to squeeze onto your meat. There are many options to choose from at Rubio's. Plus they offer a kids menu. Heads up ladies the firemen like to come to here to eat so you can also enjoy the eye candy while you eat some food. read more

I love Rubio's and probably have it at least once a week! Favorite dish used to be the blackened tilapia, which is now gone. My stable go-to meal is probably the blackened Pacific Mahi Mahi now, occasionally the Original Fish Taco. Don't forget the seasonal Langostino Lobster! That's a must-get when it's in town. Anyway, long story short, this particular Rubio's never disappoints. Food is always excellent; the speed of service is quick, even during the lunch crunch. Great location! read more

Restaurant is the dirtiest I have seen in a long time teenagers at McDonalds take better care of their store.

Hours of operation outside their location says 10 AM to 9 PM throughout the week. I went to their location at 10:26 am and the doors were locked on a Thursday morning. So I waited until they were supposed to open at 10:30 according to their website and also Google, and they still weren't open. When I called them to confirm what time they open and she basically told me they weren't gonna open for another 30 minutes. That response is the most unprofessional response to give a customer who's wanting to purchase something at your establishment. If you guys open at 11 AM you should put that on your doors to be transparent with your customers and also you should put that on your website. read more

Food was good but expensive for what it is. $18.70 for 3 shrimp tacos, chips and beans, and a large soda. I was surprised to learn the salsa bar was bland and lacked actual spice. I wasn't sure if the chips are unlimited when eating inside. I asked James but he didn't get back to me on that and was short with me and my friends. The young woman who took my order was nice though. I won't be back on account it was too expensive, they were out of Vanilla Coke, and James wasn't very pleasant. read more

Food is great. Establishment not so much. The windows have drinks stuck on them. It looks like it's never been cleaned. The floors are disgusting. They are black. The chairs as well are all black on the bottom. The walls are even black. They need a deep clean. I mentioned this to one of the employees and she said the night shift does mop. Who knows. I have frequented this chain regularly, not specifically this location. I've only been to this location a few times over the years. However, a group of us wanted to eat here as a quick meal after being the area this past Saturday early evening. We tried to use a card, and they were only accepting cash and wouldn't allow us to use a coupon? Definitely understand there are sometimes technology & network issues for not allowing the use of a card; however, why wouldn't you accept a coupon??!!! No excuse/reason was given...not the best customer experience and I don't know if I would ever eat at this chain again. Wow!! Very inefficient. Not sure what possible could be taking so long. There seems to be enough staff. They are just taking a long time to get the food to customers. I went to a few Rubio's and I was surprised... as in how clean and well kept this Rubio was. I almost didn't recognize that it was a Rubio's. The staff cleaned the tables pretty fast and the food came out pretty fast too. Since Rubio's is more known for seafood Mexican food, I had the shrimp and bacon burrito and it tasted pretty good! It was my first time trying it. There were plenty of shrimp and the flavor was appetizing. If you have to go to a Rubio's, I suggest going to this one. read more

But I suggest the combo at 6.49, which comes with two tacos, rice and beans and a drink. Hey, no need to tip. They have a clean salsa bar with about 8 different salsas. Sliced limes are set out too. Try their raspberry tea on tap. It's tasty. Our cashier Ramon had a smile. A lady's toddler dumped something on the floor and Ramon mopped it up and was like "no problem". One of the better fast casual Mexican restaurants pretty much ever and I don't even eat fish. Always get something with chicken and Rubio has never let me down despite many strange menu changes over the years. In this visit, tried the two taco combo with rice and chips for about 8 bucks (about a buck more than it should be really). The chipotle sauce they drizzle on the chicken makes these tacos have a nice smoky taste. Use the coupon option to get a free large drink and you have a decent, healthy lunch. Lots of high tops at this location and a salsa bar that uses two sides finally. read more

Based on the pictures, I thought they actually put a good amount of meat in the tacos. For $4-5 per taco you'd think it would at least be 2oz. You'd be wrong. Three shrimp in one and about 1.5 oz of chicken in the other. Surprisingly, they put the most meat in the lobster taco. Flavor was good, but paying $17 for three tacos that have such a small portion of meat in them is a rip off. Be prepared to walk away hungry. read more

In one word why I would come back to this Rubio's again and again; service. I had an old gift card that it sat in my car through an Arizona summer and I had all sorts of stuff melted to the magnetic strip. So I couldn't check it easily to see if there was any money on it. And the assistant manager took 10 minutes and made phone calls to see if there was a balance on there. You just don't see that kind of service anymore. Beyond her amazing above and beyondservice. They deliver the food to your table. The place is clean. The restrooms are clean. Everyone smiling. They have moved into seafood more in recent years. The salmon tacos that were black and were tasty. I've always like the mahi-mahi burrito. Next time I come back I'm gonna try the lobster tacos or the lobster burritos. They have three different types of fresh brewed iced tea. This Rubio's in Mesa Riverview is clean and friendly. The salsa bar was clean and refreshed often. I was disappointed to find that Rubio's is not yet on the online ordering bandwagon. I'm not a fan of waiting around and taking up a dining room seat. But I will say that my order was prepared and ready with lightening speed! The seasonal langostino burrito is always awesome, and the tomatillo salsa rivals my own (gratuitous booster). The chips and refried beans are ridiculously good. The fish tacos, citrus shrimp burrito and street tacos are excellent. Even a plain salad is good, and they will accommodate your diet; in my case adding bay shrimp and salsa only to a plain salad. One of the worst experience I've had at Rubio's. As a cashier You must be ready to answer questions about the menu. The girl this night didn't know what kind of Fish was on a specific taco. Unusual poor service. We love Rubio's. Our food is always fresh. On Saturday 4/16/22 @ approx 7pm We ordered from counter for eat in.. Our order was 2 bowls with extra lettuce (one bowl with Verde sauce and another bowl with roasted salsa). When we received our order there was no extra lettuce (not the first time) and no sauce on either bowl. When questioned about the extra lettuce we were told there was extra lettuce in the bottom. No, that is the amount of lettuce that comes in the bowl. Then, each of us were given a side dish of extra lettuce. No big deal. Then as we mixed in the extra lettuce we noticed neither bowl had our salsa as ordered. First we were told it is under the other ingredients in the center. When both of us showed the server there was no green or red salsa in either of the bowls he told us it is the same salsa at the self serve salsa station. We got our own salsa. Not a good experience this time. We have been at this location many times and this was our worst service. Glad we chose to eat in or our order would have been less than what was ordered. read more

The Chipotle orange salad is the best salad in any fast food chain. The red peppers and the white sauce give it the best spicy flavor and the leafy greens are always fresh. The fish tacos here are also some of the greatest. I'm a sucker for anywhere with a free salsa bar and the cilantro onion mix adds extra freshness to the tacos and salads, or I like to mix it with the mild to make it more of a pico de guio. Anna is the nicest cashier and gets my order right everytime and Alex always cooks the chicken to perfection on the grill they are great.
