I had a good experience at CAVA. I like their food options and their variety on beverages is fun. It was nice to try all the options. My favorite one was the cucumber mint, and then the tangerine. It is nice that they offer lentils as base, besides rice or salad. I had half lentils, half rice and I did enjoy my food. The build your own option offers the chance to try new ingredients and dressings... the only problem is that I liked my dish and I am not sure if I can replicate it, LOL... Overall a good experience. I absolutely love Cava, and have been to them in many locations and states. The food and service at this location is standard and when I have visited this store it's been relatively clean. My frustration comes from the service here, while they are outwardly nice, they are also overly pushy to drive your meal's price up. For me, it's the small things that really shine brightest, for example, when you ask for a drink to automatically give you a large without asking. Due to this locations stocking issue we had to pay for small drinks because they were "out of water cups". I fail to understand why it is on us for this location's stocking issue (which I can say is prevalent with a lot of Cava's I've been to, but that's another thing). read more

As a pescatarian, I was actually excited to see salmon added to the menu...it felt like a win. The salmon portion itself was solid, I'll give them that. But everything else in the bowl...Light. Real light. The balance was off, and it made the whole thing feel a little underwhelming. And here's the deal breaker for me... I know salmon is fish, obviously...but this had a noticeably strong, fishy taste that just didn't sit right. Fresh salmon shouldn't be giving that. The pita chips didn't help either, they lacked freshness and were hella salty. Definitely not the crunch I was hoping for. I wanted to like it, I really did. It was a big bowl and had a bunch of ingredients that worked well together. I enjoyed this very much. My favorite was trying the drinks! My favorite was the cucumber lime. My bowl had super greens, lentils, basmati rice, veggies, chicken, red pepper hummus, crazy feta sauce, garlic sauce, corn, feta cheese, tzatziki, marinated tomatoes, pickles and onions. The minus one star is because the girl putting all the toppings on was super sloppy. After topping my bowl, she smashed the lid down and all the sauce was stuck to the lid. But don't let the line deter you, they move fast and are so efficient! I love to get the greens and grains bowl. All their sauces and toppings are amazing! As a vegetarian, I love how many amazing options they have--there's always something delicious to choose from. The crazy feta dip with pita chips is a must every time. So flavorful and addictive! Atmosphere - When we arrived, there was a few empty tables inside. Lots of the tables were already occupied. Luckily for us the patio was wide open with no one sitting there yet. I don't like it when places are crowded. While there, many more groups of people arrived. There was a decent amount of tables and chairs in the shop. I think when they get busy, there won't be enough. Luckily they are right next to apartment houses, so hopefully most customers will bring their food back home to eat. I didn't visit the restroom. Not hot inside. I have been to some places where it's been hot. Half of the patio was in the hot sunlight. Three tables were in the shade. The door from the patio to the inside of the restaurant was locked and posed problems for many customers. Eventually they unlocked the door for easier access. They had music playing outside on the patio. No water misters. Food: Chicken and rice entree - It tasted sweet. The ingredients included grilled chicken, brown rice, tzatziki, hummus, feta, pickled onion, tomato, arugula, Greek vinaigrette. Not sure what made it taste sweet. Harissa avocado - I liked it. It was a little spicy. Its ingredients included Harissa honey chicken + hot harissa vinaigrette. Crazy Feta®, hummus, corn, avocado, rice, SuperGreens. Some bits of chicken fat or skin, but difficult for restaurants to remove all of these pieces. I liked that it was a little spicy. There were also some very tough woody pieces of some vegetable in there. There was also an uncut end of a couple vegetables in there. With the bowls came a complimentary small slice of pita. Seemed soft, which was good, and not old. Service - There were many employees. The service here was quick. They used recipe cards to make the entrees. Parking - The restaurant was located inside of a shared parking lot. Was not crowded since it is a newly built area. Used to be a commercial shopping plaza that was deserted a long time. Now they are building apartment houses there. No parking meters or parking structures. A parking structure with solar panels on top or trees would be nice. Otherwise, no shaded spots available. Same as most places. Future - Will come back although amount of food in bowl seemed small compared to the photos on their website that shows the bowls almost overflowing. I really want to love Cava--honestly, the ingredients are fresh, the flavors are great, and I love the variety they offer. When everything is made right, it's one of my favorite spots to grab a quick, healthy meal. But the inconsistency is hard to ignore. Unfortunately, 9 times out of 10, my order is either missing something or the portions are noticeably off. Whether it's a missing topping, a half-scoop of something that should be a full portion, or (most recently) paying $4 for the crazy feta dip only to get a quarter of the container filled--it's just frustrating. Especially when you're paying extra for those add-ons. I keep coming back because I do like what they offer, but it's hard to justify the cost when I'm constantly left feeling shorted. I hope they tighten up on quality control because they really have something special--they just need to deliver it more consistently. read more

This place was good. I stopped by with a friend and sister over the weekend and it was busy. I had looked over the menu beforehand so I knew what I was going to get. I ordered: 1 Bowl with Black lentils, Basmati rice, Tzatziki, Grilled Chicken, Fiery broccoli, Corn, and Yogurt dill dressing. (I wanted pita strips but they didn't have any at the time) 1 Lemonade - Delicious! My friend had a veggie bowl and my sister had a steak bowl. I was able to sample their bowls and they were very different then mine. Unfortunately, the steak was not good as it had no flavor and it got very cold fast. The grilled chicken was delicious and hot! The veggies were cooked well and had a nice crunch to them. The tables were dirty but they stayed occupied the 1.5 hours we were there. It must have been the summer of 2016 when I visited my sister in DC. She had brought me to the mall and showed me the glory of CAVA. It has been 8 years, and I have never forgotten. Maybe it was how glitzy the mall was, but CAVA was incredible. I've had CAVA since, but there is nothing better than having CAVA in your own area! I am not ashamed to tell you how loudly I gasped a few weeks ago when I saw the sign go up. My husband took me out to lunch today, and it was amazing. There is plenty of parking even though there's construction going on in the same lot. The store is bright and clean, and the service is so friendly! We opted to have our lunch dine-in, so they gave us the reusable bowls. I ordered a bowl with half saffron rice and arugula. You can choose 3 dips, so I got roasted eggplant, Tzatziki, and Red Pepper Hummus. I ordered grilled chicken, but I've had their lamb before, and that is also a good option! I also got it with: fire roasted corn, pickled pickles, persian cucumber, Kalamata olives, and my dressing was yogurt dill. I love their ice tea selection, too, and it's nice to have jasmine tea on tap. Definitely recommend downloading the app to earn your rewards AND to order ahead. I'm new to Arizona and the area as I'm here for school. I decided to try this spot because I've heard good things from people back home. Husband and I walked in and looked at the menu for a bit before making a decision. We weren't greeted, but the worker was professional and took our order. She asked us questions to make sure our order was to our liking when preparing it. She even allowed my husband to try some of the spicy chicken before making his choice. The total came out to $25.78 for the bowl, the pita, and one fountain drink. The fountain drinks were rich in flavor and absolutely refreshing in the Arizona summer heat. We tried a few flavors but our favorite was the strawberry one! The restaurant is super clean, spacious, and looks very modern. Food is fine, workers are fine, problem is, when you walk in, they have one of those fans that automatically blows on the doorway to keep bugs out and this thing BLOWS. You would think there's a fighter jet starting up outside by how loud this thing is. Idk about you guys but I don't like feeling like I'm on an active duty aircraft carrier while I'm trying to enjoy pita bread. This thing also sends a transonic shockwave directly into your face if you are sitting anywhere near it. Genuinely is a huge nuisance. I don't know what sort of nuclear fusion reactor powering this thing but they need to turn it down by about 98%. It's actually comical how loud and powerful it is. Seriously this thing could be used as a booster rocket on a space ship. I guarantee there is not a single bug on the planet that does not get instantly atomized the second it comes into contact with this thing. Completely unnecessary. Bathrooms are clean. read more

This was a fun place but also a bit overwhelming. Lots of flavor, protein, and topping options. Simple explanation is Cava is a Mediterranean Chipotle. The flavor pallet is GreekLebanese. There are different hummus to choose from and you pick your greens, protein, grain, and dressing. Good stuff. I went Greekish with the Greek Vinaigrette. Might want to go with a standard option before tweaking. I liked it a lot with the options and such. My wife gave it a meh because the tzatziki sauce wasn't as good as our favorite place. Serving sizes are big. Could easily share. The fountain drinks were odd and we didn't try them. Salad will run you $11 depending on options. read more

I love love love Cava it is like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. The Make your own bowl is my go to and I just like to do a salad but love the multiple lettuce options. I overdid the hummus the first time but have since learned to limit to two and their Harissa chicken is my favorite. Not sure why they upcharge on it frankly but I pay it. The sheer options for toppings is lovely and their salt brined pickles are my favorite. I always get dressing on the side and barely use it. The strawberry citrus drink Is so yummy. My one slight annoyance is the variation on the size of my bowl. The bowl is a certain size it needs to be at least 3/4 quarters of the way full. When below that I am disappointed. read more
