Started a self made brewery tour at Ruby Beach last Saturday. Not much was going on downtown, so we easily found free street parking, and were immediately served inside. Enjoyed my hefeweizen out on the patio and made friends with a neighborhood kitty. This brewery has plenty of relaxing outdoor space despite being "downtown" and there was a lot of welcomed shade. Love the historic brick side of the building, and the bartender was friendly. No complaints here! read more

Something nice in downtown?! The layout has outside seating that feels safe, secluded, and fresh. They have a small lawn area that makes for good use during art events and I love they have hosted multiple GAAM events in the community. Inside is clean and stylist with plenty of seating. Their beer selection is worth exploring and they have slushies which works in the hot Florida weather! They even have an upstairs area that can be rented for events. read more

There is a large patio with tvs, fans, and space heaters to accommodate all temperatures. The indoor space was very charming and we enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking to the beer tender. I had some time to explore on a Thursday night in Jacksonville so I decided to check out some local breweries. I asked a friend before my trip for suggestions, and Ruby Beach was not on the list. I'm going to add it to my suggestion list, though! I'm glad I stopped in. Of the three breweries I checked out, Ruby Beach had the most variety of beer types. One guy behind me asked for a Pilsner. They didn't have one of those. Of course, he asked for a Bud Light first . I really liked the Belgian. I'm past the days where I could drink more than two of those and not feel it the next morning, but it was so good! I also tried the Hefeweizen, which was also very well done. The service was great and they've got a nice outdoor seating area. Definitely check out Ruby Beach, and I'd move it to the top of the list if you've only got a little bit of time. read more

Came here Saturday 1/28/22 for a pop up brunch event. It was very cute. With a food truck outside, vendors and dj! The only downside was the weather.. ridiculously cold but the good thing is that you could go inside and get warmed up with the mimosas or beer flights. We purchased a few things from the awesome vendors. There was everything from clothes to plants and varied types of art being sold. The ambiance was great. The bartenders, the vendors and even the people there. There seemed to be a lot of regulars. I will definitely be back. Parking was also easy to find. Right there on the street. read more

I came with a group of my coworkers the first time. We had a "going away" party for Yelper Austin O. This place opens earlier than 4pm. We get of work at 3:30, so this was our choice. I am glad we chose this brewery! They have daily drink specials, happy hours, and new drink concoctions on a regular basis. I came back for my second visit on Friday. I had a margarita to unwind from work. I discovered two new things about this place! They have a rooftop that they have available for renting out for events and or special occasions. Second is that they sometimes serve Cugino's sausages from Southern Italian! That is a good move. I look forward to my next visit soon. They have all kinds of beer on tap. I am not a beer drinker, so I've never tried the beer on tap. But, the patrons around me seemed to be enjoying their beer choices. They also have flights of beer as an option. The outside patio is a real plus. Parking can be difficult, but don't give up. You'll find somewhere to park. Street parking only. read more

1st time visiting this brewery this past Sunday 2/16 before a show at Florida Theatre.. 1st the positives: Nice atmosphere, and the beer was decent too.. The Negative is that the bartender padded my check; YES....., after I left he went back into the square device and edited my tip and gave himself an extra $2.. I discovered this when i got my credit card statement 2 days after being there. I checked and compared against my copy of the receipt and discovered what he did.. This upsets me on principle because I worked in the industry for many years and was aware that dishonest people sometimes do this;, so I tried calling Ruby Beach a few times and left messages to let them know what happened and no one ever returned my call.. I also tried contacting Ruby Beach on their Facebook page via messenger and no reply at all. I then tried researching who the owner was and online it shows that Mark Vandeloo is the owner so I tried him via messenger on LinkedIn and explained the issue and asked him to please call me today or I was going to leave negative reviews online and on social media. He never responded and still no callback from Ruby Street brewing so I guess they do not care and this is how they run their business.. Total fraudsters, I will not be going back.. read more

Wow! My wife and I came here for the first time on a Saturday evening before a show, and were super impressed. The beer was excellent, and they have other options (like iced beer drinks and wine) if those are more your speed. There was a food truck posted up outside. But the major attraction was the space - beautiful but smallish bar area inside, and an enormous outside area with tables and games. I had no idea something like this was downtown embedded among the offices. Only downside was they were a little understaffed, and seemed to be running out of a lot of things pretty early (like 7 pm on a Saturday). But we will definitely be back soon, great new spot. read more

Great little brewery in downtown Jacksonville. Went for a bike ride last weekend and made a stop at this little gem for refreshments and now I want to make it a thing every Sunday. I planned to get a flight to try a few of the great sounding beers on the menu, but I was drawn to the yummy looking frozen cocktail in the moment. They were premixed with beers and other liquors to be similar to a strawberry daiquiri and a lime margarita. As pretty as they were, there were not nearly as tasty as I had expected, certainly not sweet but perhaps maybe more refreshing that way. My husband ordered the local lager and that was tasty and my choice for next time I visit. What I loved was the ambiance of the brewery. We sat outdoors where we had shade on the patio under the sails and listened to some fun live music. There was a tempting food truck, but was afraid I would not feel like biking back home after a burger. The lower outdoor area had a ping pong table and more group tables. There was a plant exchange going on which looked like fun. Going to get on their social media so I can know about these events rather than stumbling on them. Either way, happy we rolled in, stayed for a break, and cannot wait to get back. read more
