Ruby Cleaners is my new favorite Dry Cleaners. It is convenient to pull right up to off of Desplaines Ave. The shop is very clean and they are so pleasant and efficient. They offer green cleaning methods which is great. No smelly toxic fumes. I do not use the dry cleaning bags (I bring my own cover to avoid plastic) and they happily accomodate. They offer tailoring services as well. I am so happy to have found them. They do not stretch out my clothes and I feel they take great care of them. This place is really great. There is a same day dry cleaning if you bring your clothes before 10 a.m. I had also had her look at my ripped book bag and she was able to sew it back within 5 minutes. I have been here many times without issue. I have had patches seen on clothes / multiple times. Today I brought in 4 items to have patches sewn on and the price was triple. I asked why, and said I have had it done many times cheaper. The man said I have never been there before. I reminded him how they have an account for everyone and he can see how many times I have been there. He looked me up and said oh, you have been here only 1 time but you are lying about the price. Thrn started laughing. Sadly, I do not have any of my old receipts but I could not believe he would look me in the eye and call me a liar. If the price has gone up, just tell me. But don't lie to my face and laugh. I am at a loss as to why this would ever happen to any customer. read more

The owners are extremely friendly and the location with its large parking area is easy for drop off and pick up of your items. I came here because of the great reviews I read. However, I was very disappointed. I dropped off a very special dress, one I used for my court wedding ceremony. It wasn't a traditional wedding dress, but it was still very special to me. I noticed that I was damaged when I got home. Came back and let them know, the owner let me know she didn't understand English and that I should come back when her husband was present. I went to work so my husband came back, and the owner told him that there was nothing he could do because they followed the instructions. I returned two days later and got the same story. He additionally said that I should take it back to the store I bought it (Macy's, Calvin Klein dress) and complain to them. He tried to make excuses for why the dress would turn out like this after a wash. What was most upsetting was that if he or the staff noticed it was damaged ( as he said, he knew it would happen), that they weren't upfront about it when I first picked up the dress. He wasn't very nice or even say he was sorry! Im never coming back here again. read more
