If I could leave zero stars, I would. Do not take your clothes here. I came here last Friday to get two items tailored, a jean skirt and a dress. The alterations were very simple, just bringing in the items 1-2 inches. They asked me when I needed the items by, I said by next Friday. They were provided 1 full week to do the alterations. On Thursday I went in to see if the items were completed, they told me to return Friday at noon. On Friday I arrived at 11:45 am, where they notified me that they shipped my items off to a different location to get the alterations done and that my items had not yet been returned. This is a problem for the following reasons: 1) I did not authorize for my clothes to be shipped anywhere so they did that without my permission, 2) they didn't notify me that the clothes would be shipped anywhere, even though I was in the store the day before asking for the clothes, and 3) they refused to tell me where the clothes had been shipped to. They also refused to give me the phone number of a manager or supervisor to talk about the issue. There was also customer who came in after me to pick up their items and the attendant told them that their clothes also were not ready and to come back on a later day. This establishment is poorly managed and untrustworthy. I would not take my clothes here if I were you. You should probably find somewhere else. read more

I have been going to this cleaners for more than 20 years. I think they do a very solid job. I also think their prices are competitive.

When I dropped off my shirt and jacket I specifically asked what time on Monday you guys would be open until because I worked until 4:30pm and the worker told me 6pm. Your door hours and online hours also say 6pm. I showed up at 4:45pm to find your lights off and door locked. I need my clothes for tomorrow and now cannot get them. I brought in two pairs of brand new pants for my 87 year old mother. these were plain old polyester pants from Kohls, nothing fancy or tricky - she just needed them taken up 2 inches, a quick hem job. I probably should've known better when they didn't put a price on the ticket, but again it's just hemming two pairs of pants... I didn't think it was gonna be a big deal. Came in to pick them up. They charged $50! you have got to be kidding me!!! 2 inches up on the hem done by machine not by hand. How in the heck can you justify $50?!?? I'll start by saying this place is fabulous. I started using them after trying 4 different cleaners when I moved to the area in 2006. The main problem I have with cleaners is they tend to crush buttons on my shirts. Net, net, I've never had the problem with them. All of my dress clothes are custom so it is hard to trust someone. The one time I had a problem with my tux shirt, they were apologetic and quick to fix the problem. This is a family business and James is fantastic. They even allowed us to setup an account so our baby sitter can do pickup and drop off. read more

I really need to use dry cleaning service, but for my down comforter I prefer to get it cleaned professionally so they last longer.

This is the worst tailor ever, they ruined 2 pairs of my seven jeans. The korean lady yelled at me in the store even though they messed up 2 pairs of jeans. The seam across the leg was not straight, one leg was shorter than the other, the seam around the legs were longer on one end and shorter on the other. This place is terrible, they have horrible customer service and don't care if their customers are happy because they yell at you for their mistakes. This place is horrible! read more

How could this dry cleaner be any better? Well, if they would pick up, drop off, and hang the clothes in my closet for me, I guess.... I've been going there and can report 25 years of solid service in tailoring and dry cleaning and any minor issues were promptly and cheerfully dealt with. read more

I took a custom made throw to them and they ruined it and then tried to pass it off as an error by the company that made it. The throw was made by Eastern Accents, one of the finest bedding companies in the US and located here in Chicago. They never have has returns on this item when it is properly cleaned. I won't set foot in there. read more

Quotes are never accurate, 2x they have told me one price and have charged me significantly more when I picked up. If the alteration is almost double the price you originally quoted a customer then you should call and confirm that they still want to do it, not surprise them when they pick it up. I would not go back to this place. They had done something similar to a friend and she told them to just keep the garment. read more

I am 33 and have been taking my suits here for more than a decade. Never had any problems. I started going to them b/c my father always used them -- this is going back over two decades. The couple that owns it is SO friendly and the rest of the staff is nice, too. I live in Elmwood Park and still drive over there when I need anything dry cleaned. read more

I am shocked at how difficult it is to find a good dry cleaner in Oak Park. While Prime Cleaners was able to remove most of the stains from shirts/tie/suit, everything was wrinkled when taken out of the plastic at home. The sleeves on shirts are not pinned or folded in anyway to prevent wrinkling. They are left dangling at the sides so that they are wrinkled when taken out of plastic. My husband's tie was wrinkled and did not appear to be pressed. His shirts did not appear to be starched. Dissapointed. read more

I've been coming to this dry cleaning shop for over 20 years, even though I no longer live close by. They are wonderful. My clothes don't wear out like they used to with other cleaners. The tailoring is also excellent-- Lily is a wonderful seamstress. I saw a wedding dress she made and it was gorgeous, perfectly stitched. In 20 years, with lots of dry cleaning, there are bound to be one or two problems (a button here or there), but they've always made good on it. And, they will have your clothes ready when you've asked for them. The prices are comparable to other cleaners, not cheap, but not over the top either. Probably the worst service and alterations I've ever experienced. I gave them a dress where part of the material needed to be sown back to the seam. They said it would be ready two weeks from the day I brought it in. I thought it seemed like a long time, but I wasn't in a rush. I came in on the Saturday I was told it would be ready and they told me it would take longer; until Monday. When I finally came to pick up the dress, it was no where near fixed. They had not completed the job and there was still a hole between the material and the seam, the exact thing I had asked them to fix. The actual seamstress job was very sloppily done and there were still frayed ends from the string. There was also a new whole in another part of the dress that had not been there before. They said they would either fix it or refund me and refused to do both or reimburse me further for all my driving and service troubles. I suggest going to ANY other place for alterations since they clearly don't seem to care much about quality or service. read more

Who knew you could have a horrible experience at a Dry Cleaners. This is by far the worst establishment in Oak Park. What a shame that a place like this exists here, in a community where we support local small businesses first and foremost. I've never felt so taken advantage and disregarded before as a consumer. If your plan is to charge me 4x the area standard, please at least have an explanation other than "I don't make the prices." Especially when an amount 3/4 the price was quoted on drop off (and clearly listed on the computer). "I don't remember that". Really? Ok. Wow. That's all I can say. Yes, sure counter associate, please pass along my contact information and have the manager call me...and I'm so optimistic that this will be rectified in a way that makes both parties happy.
