First time coming to Ruby Jeans, I've only ever seen their juices at different shops so when I was driving by I knew I had to stop and give it a try. Firstly, the way they styled the shop is so cute. They also differ from the generic smoothie place by not having any blenders or ingredients in the front of house. They make your smoothie in the back kitchen and the bring it to you when ready which I thought made the experience more elevated than common smoothies shops. I ended up getting the java Butter smoothie because I was drawn to the cold brew and dates part and let me tell you, this is the best smoothie I've had in months. I'm a big tropical cafe girl but, Ruby Jeans gives them a run for their money! Their smoothies are about $10 and up, making it a couple dollars more than regular places but it is SO worth it and it makes sense why. I'll definitely be back! read more

Ruby's is a place you can go that not only has amazing, good for you food and drinks, but an amazing story as well. Chris started this in honor of his grandma. The juices can be found all over Kansas City, but the menu items (including the acai bowl I got) is worth the trip in their restaurant. All of the juices are great, even if some of the ingredients don't sound like they would taste good, trust me, they do. The juice I got was called A Few Too Many and it was delicious (and I don't like beets). Highly recommend that you go check them out. read more

I came here while I was at an event and decided to try out one of the smoothies. The one I try was called the big chief, which, if I can remember correctly, had agave, strawberries, bananas, and almond milk. That smoothie was amazing! I want to say I paid $10 for it which is on pricey side. I wanted to try the nachos and a couple other items, but they close down for the day while I was at the event. The fun, colorful aesthetic and storytelling for Ruby Jean's would make anyones day. We ordered at the counter. Staff was helpful and we didn't feel rushed. The comfortable furniture and energetic atmosphere made it an easy wait. I loved getting to watch the fresh fruit being cut and juiced behind the counter. Our food and juices came out quickly. Next time I'll avoid any juices with beets in it because I personally find beets so incredibly earthy and overpowering - but that's a personal issue and overall everything was totally delicious - and healthy! I absolutely love Ruby Jeans the food, smoothies and juices are good and healthy. Their protein bite balls are also delicious. The staff is always nice and knowledgeable and whatever they don't know they will go ask to provide clarity. The inside is really nice and relaxing outside of when they're busy and blending smoothies back to back it can get very loud so when I'm sitting in I typically just have headphones. But on a slower day it's pretty chill and the music is always nice. I I tried a lot of first today and can say I may get smoothies more often since I typically get their juices. "CURRENT"LY (smoothie): was really good and had a good balance of sweet and flavor with what all was in the smoothie. Salmon Benedict Bowl: was really good and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Whatever they cooked the salmon with was a little overpowering and the bread was soggy which I wasn't a fan of maybe I'll ask for it reserved with bread on top. Overall it was a good breakfast meal and fulfilling. Sweet potato brownie bite: was different but good, and it's cold which I wasn't too much of a fan of so I saved some for home and let it sit out it was better room temperature. I will say the texture and flavor is different but it's not bad and I could eat the whole thing, it would have been better in a bite size or ball. read more

I really love this place! I have been visiting Ruby Jean's off and on for a few years now, and I was so happy to hear they had a location on Troost. I drop by this location at least once a week after my morning water aerobics class, and I always go with the Green Dream. (I have gastro issues... so I know EXACTLY what I need, and I like what I like). -- They have multiple food options for breakfast and lunch, juice cleanse packages and more. I think my favorite part about this place is the unmatched aesthetic that includes large windows that bring in an abundant amount of sunlight for all the amazing greenery. Been wanting to try this place for a while! My hubby and I both got smoothies. Mine was pretty flavorful but the consistency was a bit off. Like it's SUPER icy/slushy. So it's more watery than most smoothies I've had. My husband thought his didn't have much flavor and was icy as well. Perhaps we caught it on an off day and we can try again sometime! But for the price idk if we'd justify it. There's a lot of glowing reviews on here for them, so maybe it'll be better next time. read more
