Customer service is outstanding from the very beginning of our quote. Initially I reached out with a photo of my belt for repair. Whether she thought she could repair it. I got there to the small kiosk in the parking lot and enjoyed meeting her. I explained my mom bought the belt for me 20 years ago. It meant a lot to me but it was breaking in two places and unable to thread through belt loops. She explained everything about the repair possibilities. I removed my belt buckle. I paid and left with my ticket. The value for the repair was fair. Below you'll see a picture of my belt. She also told me how to hang my belt to avoid other breakage. I've twisted it up in a circle stuffing it in a drawer. Now, I hang it so there's no kink. I will take other items to her as well. read more

I've been hesitant to post this review as I love supporting local business, but for $57, I'm very disappointed in the service I received. I brought my favorite boots in to repair the rubber cap that came off my right heel, and I received my favorite boots back that are nearly unwearable. The heel she fixed is somehow now off centered, and shorter than the other heel so that it's funky to walk. She replaced the soles of the shoe, which she did not glue on properly, and from the tip of the boot + a few inches, it's fully lifted. I'm just sad, spent more on the service than I did on the actual boots and I have to get them refixed. read more

What a special gem of a place! This tiny leather repair place (it's in the name!) is in a kiosk packed with shoes, purses and other repair items. The owner is exceptionally nice, and the work gets done on time and is of highest quality. I had a backpack with a strap separating, and she completed a rugged stitching that will give me a lifetime of use out of it. Prices were truly reasonable. So few shops like this exist any more. I have been a customer of Tiny's Shoe Repair for over 10 years and historically received good service. Prices were reasonable and the front staff was friendly. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. In mid-July 2025, I brought in a winter jacket to have the zipper replaced. I was told the replacement part would need to be ordered from abroad and could take a few months. I paid in cash and left the jacket based on that explanation. Three months passed with no communication. In early October, I called and was told the jacket would be ready the following week. After that, I left several messages that were never returned. When I stopped by in person the following week, I was again told it would be finished "next week." This same assurance was repeated month after month. Between early October and February 20, 2026, I personally visited the shop five separate times because phone calls were not being returned. What is most concerning is that when I addressed the seven-month delay with the owner, she did not consider it unusual. At no point did I receive proactive communication, transparency about the status of my jacket, or an honest timeline. A simple zipper replacement should not take seven months -- especially when the customer has already paid. While I had positive experiences in the past, this recent situation reflects a serious decline in reliability, communication, and accountability. I would strongly caution others about prepaying or leaving valuable items without clear written timelines and consistent follow-up. read more

I took my boots to this shop for new heels. I was told it would cost me $20 for the heel pads and $10 to clean the boots. I decided to clean the boots myself but when I took them back to have the heel pads replaced, the gal at the desk said it would be $25. First time using this shop. I saw the positive reviews on work much more involved than what I needed so I figured I'd try it out. I brought in a pair of dress shoes in very good condition but with some minor scuffs that needed buffing out and a shoe shine. The time frame and price for the shoe shine and minor cosmetic work was very good. However, when I picked up the shoes and looked at them in the light outside the tiny shop I was surprised to see what looked like dried liquid polish all over the shoes. The scuffs were a bit lighter but all were still there. I walked back into the store and let the owner know. I asked her to look at them outside in the light. She buffed them for a minute or two, never stepped outside the back of the maybe 10x6 shack and handed them back. They dried liquid marks looked a bit better but it was still sadly the worst shoe shine I'd had to date. Rather than argue over a nominal expense, I left and then took the shoes to Sole Performance in Encinitas. While the cost was a bit more the job couldn't have been more in contrast. It seems this business is better for more comprehensive repairs than for minor work such as mine. read more
