Our experience was subpar. I joined the digital waitlist and 2 hrs later we were still not seated. I believe we had waited more than 2.5 hrs before getting a table, at least an hr of that time we were waiting on-site, after checking in with the hostess. We were a party of 6 so I knew seating would be difficult. We were only given 3 menus and no eating utensils/napkins. A different person than our waitress delivered the food to our table. Two of our party did not get their meals until about 20 minutes later than the others. Items were missing from 2 of the other orders (side of included French Fries, a side order of Fried Chicken). We had to wave down a passing staffer for napkins and utensils; there were still none provided even after food arrived. My meal - spicy chicken with grits and Brussels sprouts- tasted good. However, portion size was small. My entree had maybe 3 sprouts and 2 small pieces of chicken. An $8 side order of tater tots consisted of maybe 6 tots! Hub's chicken and waffle bites were dry, no sauce or syrup was provided, and was paltry. Gratuity for our party size was auto-defaulted to 20%. We very much wanted to reduce it, but did not. The waitress stood over him with the credit card machine, which was uncomfortable. We are generally good tippers, but our waitress was definitely not worthy of 20%. Overall, I would not choose to return. The vibe was not warm and welcoming. Service was blah. All the staffers seemed rushed and harried. I don't feel that the high costs of the food was commensurate with the quality or quantity I expect. read more

I lived in New Orleans for years, so when I saw this place pop up, I was excited! The beignets did not disappoint!!!! Definitely the best I have had outside the Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter. We ordered the catfish (2 small pieces)& grits (needed a lot of seasoning) and the French toast nibblers (similar to croutons)/sweet-heat chicken. Chicken was good but everything else was mediocre. We got here on a Sunday morning around 9:45 and were seated easily. However, the rush hit exactly around 10am. I ordered the Biscuits and gravy + add Sweet Heat fried chicken. The biscuits and gravy ( apologize for the huge bite that my wife chomped out of it before I could even unfold my silverware) were great. The sweet Heat chicken was fried to a T and had the perfect combination of sweet and spice, almost like a honey hot. I also ordered the Bloody Mary which was very good as well. The perfect level of spice. This was the first time I've had Spicy Pickled green beans in a Bloody Mary and I am now a fan. read more

Was told the wait is 1hour. It ended taking 2 hours. We were pissed by the time we were seated. I think I know the problem. Group A party of 4 arrives. Then 30 mins later Group B party of 4. You think party A always gets seated first. Nope. What happens here is they link party A to a table that is being currently used and party B is liked to another table. If the table linked party B leaves first. Party B gets seated first. How do I know? Maitre d told me. So because my assigned table had folks taking their time, literally dozens of parties who came after me get seated first. It's a joke. Maitre d was also responsible for bussing tables? Maybe another reason wait times are ridiculous. Maitre d was quite salty. Probably over worked. That said. Once seated. Our server Alona was fantastic- bubbly, energetic, funny. Food was generally really good. Appetizers of Candied bacon and beignets were just ok but fried green tomatoes were aces. Our group ordered four entrees. Catfish n grits, breakfast taco, southern breakfast and three piggies omelet were all really good. Biscuits were pretty good. The sweet butter that came w the biscuits were amazing. Side of pancakes were excellent- a bit sweeter than a typical pancake. Mimosa flight and ruby mimosa were just ok. Enjoyable once seated. But getting a seat requires a tremendous amount of patience. My friend and I had been eagerly awaiting this New Orleans based restaurant. Their opening was delayed several times. The first thing I noted was the austere interior-bland and sort of sad like a bus station cafe. It was brightened a little by photos of New Orleans but overall disappointing. The next thing we both noticed was the noise-it was difficult yet to hear each other over the din. One the positive side our server Janevelyn (apologies if I got that wrong) was knowledgeable and very friendly. I had the Cobb Salad and appreciated our server adding an allergy alert to my request for no eggs. My friend had a full breakfast and said she enjoyed hers-I ordered beignets as my friend had not tried them. They weren't like the Morning Call but we weren't in New Orleans either. I will go back but I will probably be wearing earplugs. read more

Decent atmosphere. Alcoholic drinks are rather expensive except for the canned beers. Even a mimosa costs $10+. The menu is nice and eclectic. I had the mix and match Bennies and one of my Bennies came out cold. They happily replaced it. The food was flavorful but one of my biscuits had a freezer taste. While I am not a breakfast person by any means me and my son decided to stop and grab a bite. When we walked in we were greeted with big smiles and hospitality. I wasn't expecting much and though it would be the typical corporate tasting breakfast but it was anything but. My waitress name was Arlene and she was amazing filled with laughs and made me feel comfortable as if I was eating in my own house. The food came out relatively fast and was nothing I expected. Everything in my opinion tasted like it was made from scratch, and was delicious. It has a very family friendly environment and can be seen in the way the other employees interact, They resemble a big happy family cooking Sunday breakfast rather than the usual employee dreading work. I would recommend this establishment to everyone to give it a try at least once. read more

There was a lot of greatness buzzing about this restaurant so My Family from Ohio & I went there this past Sunday & the service was NOT great at all. I was very disappointed. The first issue was that I told them that it was a party of 10 and the said ok. When our table was supposed to be ready after an 1hr30mins. The hostess informed me that our table was taken & that it will be a few more minutes to figure it out. Then we sit down and our waitress Haley T took our orders and never came back to check on us. They food took another 45mins to come out. They got some of our food correct, some was missing and some cold by the time we got it. We sent a burger and fries back twice because it was made wrong Twice. The waitress Haley T was not attentive to the table at all. Finally a manager came to the table & apologized to us for the service that we were receiving. He was very nice. I will give this restaurant another try in a few months after the holidays. Maybe they can get better waitstaff, hostesses & communicate with the kitchen. However I wish them success with their business. read more

Asked to get some beignets like 15 minutes prior to closing. Fussy waitress, cold and greasy beignets, and hoards of staff just hanging and chatting, we didn't hold anyone up as the place still was fairly busy when we left but one waitress stood next to the table with a broom waiting to sweep. We left prior to them closing and won't be back. I don't think that place will last until 2025 read more

If you reserved a table ahead of time the wait is not bad. Started out with our order and waited 20 plus minutes to receive our drinks (that we had to remind our waiter on). I ordered a simple lemonade and a French truck iced coffee creamy vanilla. We also ordered the orange creamsicle beignets and to say the least I was shocked with how little and hard the beignets were. I also ordered the banana foster french toast and yes I was disappointed with how soggy the bread was and the overall presentation. Overall I would say if the employee to customer ratio would have been proportionate then maybe ignoring the bad food and having a good waiter would have been worth it. My husband and I both had omelets. I had the Florentine and he made his own combo. We enjoyed both; the Florentine with its side salad is now a favorite for me! I really liked the portion size - plenty of food but not oversized. We also had great service from Alona. Since it was a weekday we were able to sit down right away. Zero customer service .... Came in and stood at the front door for 15 minutes as every server and bartender stared at us multiple times and went about cleaning tables and the bartending putting up batches. Then the host or manger or whatever he was got up from a table, to see what we wanted?? We then get sat after waiting and the server comes over and says hey, we close in 10 minutes. Total greeting. Clearly, we were unwanted and the "manager" watched it all happen and then opened the door to let us out. Pretty sad, we were actually excited to try the new brunch spot and waited later to come in because the online wait said it was booked until the time we arrived. Not planning on returning anytime soon. And 75% other restaurant was empty from the second we walked in. They won't make it long if this how they handle weekend brunch business. read more

We were so lucky to catch the opening this past weekend. we were greeted by smiling faces, seated promptly, and made to feel like family as soon as we walked in the door. everyone was so attentive, the food was probably the best meal I had all weekend in South Carolina, the waiter was beyond wonderful, atmosphere was so sweet, bright and cheery and i cannot rave enough about the mimosas. i cannot wait to return for another meal soon. read more

Enjoyed brunch on Thursday morning, not crowded so seated immediately. Noticed the restaurant was neat and clean. We appreciated that the temperature of the room was comfortable, not cold and that loud music was NOT blaring around the room making conversation difficult like so many other restaurants today. Our server Abigail-Grace was nice, very efficient and helpful. I said I would like a mocha coffee but didn't find it on the menu, she made it happen. We ordered three items to share, and all arrived hot in a short amount of time. The fried green tomatoes were my favorite, cooked crispy with a tomato and bacon topping delicious! Will order again. The French Toast Bites with praline syrup, mmm so good as a starter. Biscuit & Gravy came with three nice sized perfectly cooked biscuits with sausage gravy, quite tasty. The biscuits are served with two eggs and bacon. We asked if the scrambled eggs were made fresh or from a container. She said they use a container of egg mix, we said no. She said if you asked for eggs cooked broken (think that was the term) we would get fresh, the eggs were prepared perfectly, tasted very good. I would give a zero if it were an option. we checked in online at 10:09 within a wait time of 20-30 minutes. We arrived and checked in at 10:25. At 10:44 we were told it would be a couple minutes. At 10:53 we were told you are next we are just waiting on a three top. Multiple parties who signed in after us were seated before us. At 11:03 we asked to speak to the manager and Daniel could have cared less. His response was we will seat you as soon as a table comes open. there was a 5 top that had been open for some time. We waited and watched more parties get seated and as a result headed to the car. As we got to our car, we received a text at 11:09am that our table was almost ready. I left my family to wait in the car as I went back to tell the hostess that we were not staying. We went down the road to Eggs Up Grill where we were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait, we were seated in 5 minutes and had food in 15. Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows that you over estimate wait time and please people rather than grossly underestimating and being dishonest with customer. Joined the waitlist prior to arrival and were sat immediately. Nice atmosphere and renovations although it is very loud as others have mentioned. Our waiter (josiah) came around promptly and took our order. After waiting an hour and a half, we still had not received any food (including our beignet appetizer). Our waiter had come around one time to refill our drinks by that point. Other parties that sat down well after us had already received appetizers and entrees and were finishing up. Our waiter never came back around to update us on the extended wait time or apologize for the delay. Managers were running food but never rounded on us to see if we needed anything. Finally after over 1.5 hours, a hostess stopped by and asked if we needed anything. We told her we still had not received any food. Only then did our waiter stop by and say it would be out "any minute". Another waiter then brought out our food (still no beignets). The food was hot and tasted good. Our waiter never came back around to see if we needed condiments, etc. I waved him down to ask for jelly for the biscuit and ketchup for my potatoes. He came back with jelly but no ketchup. Had to wave him down a second time for the ketchup. My husband also did not receive the ketchup he asked for when he ordered. We asked for the check and the beignets were still on there. These were removed upon asking. Only then did he apologize for the wait time. We most likely will not be coming back anytime soon. At least until they work out the kinks read more
