Ruby Tuesday's has traditionally been one of my comfort restaurants. Tonight I really wanted an RT's salad. We arrived roughly around 6 pm. They were moderately busy. We were seated right away no issues there. I typically get the New Orleans Seafood with a salad & baked potato. Well, no baked potato - no mashed potatoes- how in God's name do you run out of all things potatoes? I went ahead and order it with a sweet potato. The shrimp were way overcooked, the fish was almost undercooked & the sweet potato was plain. I have my sweet potato to my wife & tried tomato soup- lord that was terrible. I gave it back. Granted no potatoes put me in the wrong frame of mind My son got ribs & tenders - the ribs were terrible. Frankly, this isn't a bbq restaurant so you shouldn't expect much but they terrible. The tenders good per my son. He ate all of them. Honestly, this entire meal was just a disappointment. The food was marginal to bad across the board. read more

My son found a fake fingernail in his food!!! We'll never be back. I wish I could select a negative star rating. The servers were very appalled and apologetic. We took my daughter and son in law to Ruby Tuesday in Athens Tn. 3 of us had 8 oz top sirloin and they were so tough you could barely chew. My son in law ordered his medium but it was raw. They did fix him another one. My daughter did enjoy her bourbon chicken. The prices go up and quality goes down. The server was nice. Excellent service and a great Meal! I have been to this area many times and never tried Ruby Tuesdays. I had the smokey mountain chicken with grilled zucchini and fresh green beans, excellent! Driving back to Knoxville we stopped for lunch. It's difficult to say anything positive about this place. At 3pm on a Sunday the place was empty so why did it take 6 minutes before a waitress came over. Took 40 minutes to get our food and the kids hamburgers were so over cooked, BLACK and HARD. I ordered two things a meal and a dessert I ended up getting my meal and not my dessert I got all of it through door dash they ended up telling me that I could either come pick it up or they could refund the dessert. I'm technically out here on business so I don't really have a vehicle to use to pick up the order so I went ahead and ordered through door dash again as well as asking for silverware this time to eat my dessert and once again they couldn't follow simple instructions the woman I called and spoke with on the phone was very snooty and short. I was told by my door dasher that they put my order last when it should've been the first thing that went out due to their ignorance and lack of professionalism. read more

Worst service ever. Waited 30 mins for cold food. Went with another couple. They were served first. They finished their meals and we're still waiting for ours. Then was told our meal was held up because they ran out of sweet potatoes. What?? Need less to say we returned our meal due to it being cold and the wrong order. Manager **kindly** removed the delayed meals from the bill. To be honest I felt all meals should have been removed. I'm not one to complain but this experience broke every rule in the book. Went there with friends to celebrate his birthday, and my wife and I had the Tlapia, and by the time we got to Lenoir city, my wife was sick. Had to stop two more times for my wife to puke, and finely made it back to Morristown, where my wife hugged the toilet and I have put her to bed now. For me my stomach, has been cramping and my head spinning some. So please, make sure that if you order the Tlapia, ask your server if it's fresh. Because we all know if fish gets room temperature, and sets to long, puke. Yes, I called them, and let them know, but it will be a while or never before I eat there. After a 12 hour drive, we ordered dinner from Ruby's thinking it would be a solid takeout experience. My complaint isn't about the food but the service. We ordered silverware - we got spoons... to eat salmon and cut a sandwich with. The salad bar was open to people getting their own salads to go ... last time I checked we were living in a pandemic. After a long day of driving on our way to Florida, it was nice to see a Ruby Tuesday near the hotel we were staying at. I had the chicken noodle soup and the new Thai Spring Rolls appetizer. Both were very good and the Spring Roll sauce was great---- enough spice to get your attention, but not overpowering. My wife had the salad bar and the Thai Phoon shrimp appetizer and said the shrimp was delicious. Both of the appetizers made a pretty good dinner along with soup and salad. You have to be kidding. This place smelled horrible, especially the salad bar. The salad bar had such a horrible odor, I couldn't stomach eating from it. I could smell is from 5 feet away as I was approaching it. I went here bc I wanted a healthy lunch and there aren't many options in this area. After I pretty much lost my appetite, I decided to something light lite, chicken tortilla soup. Ha!! Literally, ZERO peices if chicken. Before I left, I went to the restroom and to my surprise, the toilet was a mess, it reeked of bleach and there was no soap in the dispenser. What do I recommend?....absolutely nothing. Asked for a rusty nail cocktail. Was carded...showed her my military ID....I'm retired, in my 60's. Watched her make my drink....put a dash of bitters in it...WTF? Ordered a Cesar salad....was a soggy mess....asked if this was made today...looked like it came out of a tub...no green lettuce...nasty. Brought me another one...same disgusting mess....told them bring me onion rings instead. Ordered ribs...also nasty...saw the cook reach into a bowl, that had been sitting on the counter for at least 20 minutes for the French fries....said please tell me my fries didn't come out of that bowl...well it's been under a heat lamp...asked can you please make some fresh...their idea of fresh was to re-fry the old potatoes....what a nasty, disgusting mess. read more

Haven't they been known for the "extensive" salad bar for years? Why does it suck practically every time I go here (or any others for that matter)?! The ONLY time I go here is when I have the Buy One Get One Free coupons they send in the mail every month and eating with friends. Otherwise, it's a complete waste of money. Oh, and the coupon?? Up to $10 and you have to choose from the steak, rib, seafood, and one other category. Guess how many meals are $10 or less? One (chicken tenders). Most are in the $13 range, and that's for some (usually) dry chicken or tasteless tilapia. The quality and service here is completely hit or miss, and often the latter. My most recent meal was supposed to include baked potato with butter and sour cream but came with garlic mashed potatoes instead. They were good, but not what I ordered. Waitress seemed to not give a s*** about being at work, either. I never complain about food being too salty (hell, quite the opposite, actually) but the broccoli and potatoes tasted as if they had been soaked in 3 parts salt to one part water. Portabella chicken breast with some kind of cheese was actually good. Ruby Tuesday has gone downhill ever since they wanted to start catering to the $75k and up crowd. I had the chicken avacado sandwhich. Something they put on it has a kick. It was pretty good. Avacado could have been more ripe. Very filling. Terry had shrimp pasta. He said it was good as well. Large portion too. My only complaint was slow service. The restaurant wasnt all that busy. I noticed that last time we were here. But that was on a weekend evening and it was busier. I haven't eaten at a Ruby Tuesdays in ages, but it was Mother's Day and I didn't want to cook. All my usual favorite places were closed, and we'd been given a gift card and it seemed a good time to use it. We did get our food to go since we weren't comfortable eating out yet (coronavirus restrictions just being lifted), so that is something to factor in. I got a spinach artichoke appetizer, bacon cheese burger, tots and cheeseburger kids meal. Went with the burger because it generally had higher reviews, wishing I had not. It was crazy greasy without much flavor. The tater tots were soft due to being a bit undercooked and had not been drained enough so they were soft grease bombs. Kid didn't like her slider, ate one and said she didn't want the other. The artichoke dip was okay, but for cost $8.99 (comparable to an entree) the portion was pitifully small. When I showed the hubby he laughed and kindly declined splitting it, which had been our plan. I hate half the burger and about three tots, not the best Mother's Day dinner. read more

Service was quick or it would be 1 star. Just because the workers are in and out of the kitchen doesn't mean all the patrons want to sit in a freezing environment. I ordered the bourbon salmon, a baked potato and grilled zucchini. Sounds great right? The zucchini and salmon was so over seasoned it wasn't edible. The baked potato had fake bacon bits, again salty. my guest ordered chi strips and fries. He too said everything was heavily salted. Let me start with the good stuff regarding this Ruby Tuesday in Athens, Tennessee......the food was excellent. I had the hickory pork chop. It was thick, moist, cooked perfectly and so tender that I could cut it with my fork. My wife had the half-rack of ribs which was delicious and falling off the bone. We shared both dishes, and we each had a bourbon sauce, I believe, that was very good. The beer was tall and cold and my wife had the Apothic Red wine which is a good red for RT to have on the menu. Our server was very good at his job, Michael W to be exact. He was friendly, attentive, and offered honest suggestion. Here is where the wheels start to come off... OK, the salad bar itself was good in terms of what it had to offer and I appreciate the freshness of the items, the problem is this: the plate was literally straight out of the dishwasher, so much so that each plate still had a puddle of water sitting on it. A cold salad on a hot plate isn't exactly a great way to start the meal, especially when the hostess told me that the plates were so hot because they had just come out of the dishwasher and then went back to her conversation with another co-worker. My commentary continues here in a negative fashion because the facility itself has far exceeded its years in terms of its need to be shut down, totally gutted and then re-opened. The carpet was thread-bare and tacky feeling under my feet, and the table had been wiped with bleach water so many thousands of times that it was literally sticky. When my wife and I walked in, the place had that smell, you know it, old, musty, and with ground in dirt that no amount of cleaning can eradicate. This is not a commentary on the personnel or the food but the management/ownership needs to step up and fork over the money to give this place a makeover. Seriously, this is a nationwide chain and my question is 'Who is minding the store?' Someone is making a lot of money while the customer is getting a less than acceptable dining experience. If not for the great food and the exceptional service from the server I would have had to drop a one star on this out-of-town dining experience. read more

The food looked great. Too bad it wasn't. I had Chicken 'Bella (chicken, portabella mushrooms, artichokes) Roasted Brussel Sprouts with White cheddar, and green beans. The chicken was hot when it hit the table and was cold 2 minutes later. That made me think it was previously cooked and re-heated in the microwave. UGH. The Brussel sprouts were not cooked very well. They tasted raw. Same thing with the green beans. There is tender crisp and then there is crunchy raw. My friend got the BBQ pork chop, the sprouts, and mashed potatoes. His pork chop stuck him as heated up in the microwave (like my chicken). The mashed potatoes were instant, and his sprouts weren't cooked either. We both left half a plate of food, and the waitress never asked why. She also never came back to see if we wanted another beverage or anything! She brought the bill and asked if we wanted dessert at the same time. We just wanted to get out of there. Terrible service and barely edible food. read more

The salad bar was very disappointing. The lettuce selection was mostly heel end cuts of lettuce heads and large leaf lettuce was lacking in the salad. Not a lot of leaf lettuce to be found. The spinach was slimy and gross. Ordered the grilled shrimp and they came cold and mushy with a side of green beans that were overcooked. Sad. read more

Wife and I waited for almost 30 minutes for her pasta dish and my burger. If I wait that long, it better be right. Instead of medium as requested it was well done. Today we decided to grab a bite to eat between events. First and foremost the restaurant was slow at first. I could tell the front of the house was low on staff. We were sat, and ordered drinks, we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. The bar drink took 10+ mins as well as the waters. When we ordered everything was just really slow. Those that ordered the salad bar really enjoyed it. However the food was incorrect on one of 4 plates and one another plate was a big hair under the food. This plate was compd by management and we opted for the salad bar instead of a replacement. . All around the service was ok. Could have been alot faster and smoother. A big issue is the lack of staff. This location is surrounded by major hotels and we thought it would be fast experience. Don't be in a hurry if you go and focus on salad bar and you'll be fine! read more

Dirtiest bathroom I've ever seen in a restaurant, really. The dirt caked in the corners and grease on the doors would have made your stomach curdle. I regrettably ate my food prior to going in the restroom, boy now I wish I hadn't.... because if you don't have pride to take care of your bathroom, there is probably little pride in the kitchen. First off, the hostess was horrible. She was rude and very chaotic. A lot of motion but she was not very efficient. The table was clean and the chairs were not wiped off so there were leftovers from the previous guests. Two servers for the entire restaurant. Where was the manager? Kept getting told they were being made....... finally are told by server that the kitchen staff was actually refusing to make them and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Strange......
