Stay Away. Not Veteran and Active Military Friendly. Veterans' Day Meal was contingent on downloading and using the Zaxby's App. Left after standing in line for 20 minutes to be told by the cashier they only honor the service of Veterans if we use their app. Other Restaurants are out their that truly honor Veterans and we will use them going forward. Having lived for over 6 decades on planet earth, only ONCE in my entire life have I ever placed an order with fries and not gotten any ketchup with it. So I thought, well they must have overlooked putting some in our bag. So upon returning to the counter to request some, I was informed they didn't have ANY ketchup...for anyone...at all. Grilled Cobb Zalad was 10/10 Healthy, fresh, high protein, no grain fast food is hard to find and this ticks all the boxes. This store is clean and looks like it was recently updated inside. The staff is always nice and the food comes out fast. read more

Usually gets one thing wrong in order and normally over salts their chicken. On the plus side pretty nice staff

I have love Zaxby's since they started, there seasoning on the chicken is different plus they have a pretty good selections of items. But I've seen through the years how they keep raising their prices(which I understand for inflation/cost of living) which I don't mind. But when your company raise's prices plus you keep cutting the portions, specially on your chicken strips down to half and slimmer than what they use to be. I and many others have a problem, don't be soooo money hungry, because that is why many chains throughout history have closed their doors. A six piece platter should not cost almost $10, you don't even have 2 dollar worth of food cost in that plate. For that I could go to a sit down restaurant with a waiter or waitress and pay even less than that and get more food for the money. I admire restaurants that through out time nearly raise their prices and still make an honest living. Another thing on this particular Zaxby's on this past Saturday, I felt so bad for them, they were so short staff that when I placed my order I was told that they had a 30min wait on the food after I placed my order(thank God it did not take that long). i ordered a kickin chicken sandwhich. waited atleast 10-15 minutes for one car and finally i got my order. i drove off only to see practically an entire bottle of buffalo sauce and ranch soaking the entire box flowing over the sandwhich. picked up the sandwhich and it was dripping everywhere. they must be mad when you come an hour before close or just careless and stupid. I'm a fan of zaxbys chicken. Decent prices and one of the only place in Athens other than sonic I can get a lime coke.

We usually eat here once a week. We hadn't been in awhile due to the food being over cooked so we thought we would give it a try for supper one night. I ordered 10 boneless wings plain with sauce on the side. My chicken looked and tasted like it had been heated and then reheated again. It's sad that this is the best chicken place in town but I will be skipping it for awhile. Now the customer service is great, the food, not so much. read more

I have honestly never had a bad meal here. Yes I understand it is fast food and normally I would at most give it 3 stars. However, since this is a relatively small town and I am here about once a week I have been discounted for loyalty once and had my meal completely comp'ed once. I mean how awesome is that. Always have nice employees and they also have the Coke machine where you can mix your own concoctions. To be honest not a bad spot to stop. I love Zaxby's Blackened Blue Zalad, but not enough to put up with this Zaxby's. Service sucks and don't even think about going through the drive thru unless you want to spend all evening waiting for your meal. Last night I had my husband run to town to pick up dinner. He was in the drive thru over 30 minutes and when he finally got home with our food, my salad had no chicken on it! I didnt have time to go all the way back to town, so I called. I let the phone ring and ring about 20 times and finally someone picked up the phone and left it off the hook! I was so angry! I'm telling everyone I know that Zaxby's of Athens SUCKS! And when I say rude, I mean RUDE. Instead of a Hi Welcome to Zaxby's, how may I help you?, you get a What Do You Want? No manners, from any staff members. Next comes the food. I've eaten at other Zaxby's before, and I've been satisfied with their chicken. But this one? It's either SO. DAMN. BLAND. Or its so full of flavor that it becomes bitter. And from time to time, its burn. Not black and charred, more like cooked dry. And of all the food you get, you are very unlikely to get a correct order! You can order anything off the menu, and you're most likely to simply be given a Chicken sandwich with fries. No matter of you order a salad or just a drink. It's very annoying. So lets wrap this up: For all the Zaxby's out there, most are good! This one? No, not at all. Worst Zaxby's I've ever had.
