The food was good, the service wasn't great. We sat at the bar around 3pm and only got asked how we were once or twice. We had to raise our voice more than once to get our checks, refills and napkins. The woman at the front is absolutely awful. Completely unprofessional sounding and looking. She had a huge hoop eye brow ring in, and NEVER smiled. When I called another time for a to go order she answered the phone "ruby Tuesday's WHO IS THIS" i said "excuse me?" She said "RU-BEE TOO-S-DAYS E-LIZ-UH-BITH" And was just so rude the entire time that I was on the phone with her. I couldn't believe they had her in the front as a hostess as well as answering phones. Good food but you guys need better front of house staff... please. read more

for at least 5 years now, iv come and parked at this ruby tuesday, but iv never actually eaten there until now. its just the fastest way to get out of the car when you're going shopping at the jersey gardens. but when you shop so much your debit card starts to get declined (and yet, i could pull cash out of the ATM with it, w/e), you get hungry. so i wander into the bar, feeling like i just cut a hole in my pocket and made it rain all over cole haan and saks fifth avenue (worth it). the salad bar caught my eye, so after studying the menu to no avail, i wandered over there and made the most egregious "salad" ..... how can i even call it a salad, which is supposed to be like this healthy thing that keeps you regular. i should call it a wad of just every single topping combination i could muster onto a plate - oh my god it was delicious. oddly no croutons...whatever, eggs, pasta, bacon bits, pile em on and keep it moving. i piled it on so hard im pretty sure some of it fell onto my new leather shoes, im still over here trying to scrub out that stain. maybe if it gets the point where its not that noticeable, i can exchange it. idk, its just annoying that five minutes into a pair of new shoes, and i fuck it up because my salad bar greed + my general messiness caused some collateral damage. it was a really great salad though. for 9 dollars, im sure i ate at least 3 or 5 lbs of salad...versus the 1 lb you would get practically anywhere else. i wish salad was priced by the plate, not by the pound. greedy fuckers (not ruby tuesday, i mean all of those other places that charge by the pound, you know who you are). how much can you really charge for something you're gonna poop out in 4 hours anyways. sorry, that was nasty. i had to say it. anyways, i chowed that down, then at 4pm on the dot, i asked them about the happy hour deals and got myself a $2 miller lite. I usually don't review chain restaurants, but when I do. I make sure it's serious. After watching a movie at the Jersey Garden Lowes, we decided to finish the night off with dinner. I knew we should have just stayed in the mall and go to Chili's Too. Let's just say I have never used the Feedback option for a restaurant, but I was just so peeved. Here is the feedback I left for corporate: I just returned from a very frustrating experience at the restaurant. It was relatively empty and there seemed to be plenty of staff. In fact, there might have been 2 managers. We were warned that sitting at a booth instead of a table, which we were originally offered, would result in some time before a server would be able to help us. I didn't realize it would turn into a hair-pulling experience beginning to end. We had been going through the menu and finally decided what we wanted to eat. We put our menus down to show we were done. It was probably 15-20 minutes before one of us went up to the hostess to ask where our server was. Our server then came to the table, apologized for the wait saying the problem had to do with a shift change and told us the manager was on his way. Personally, an apology and and resuming normal service would suffice, but I am not one to argue with a company's standard procedure. The manager asked us if we were getting anything at the bar. No. He then asked us if we wanted any appetizers. This is apparently industry/corporate standard. I don't like this option, because we know what we want to eat. Why would we add to that? Simply because it's free? The food was prepared super fast. Definitely moved our ticket to the front. Arrived ahead of our drinks, in fact. Fish tacos, lobster mac and cheese and Prime bacon cheddar burger were all delicious. I even had an entire claw from the lobster mac! At the end of our meal, the waiter takes our plates, but he doesn't ask us if we wanted dessert right away. Instead he comes back after 5 or so minutes and asks us. We, wanting to just finally be done with the meal, told him No. Instead of bringing us the check right away, he helps two other tables (one of which he brought them a check). This takes another 10 minutes before I have to tell the manager directly what our server was doing. There was no apology this time. The manager simply tells me he'll get the check. I hope this can be corrected for future customers. Hopefully it is just an outlier and does not usually happen at the restaurants. Thank you. read more

This Ruby Tuesday is worse in all aspects on terms of food compared to its other locations. The tables and plates are filthy and aren't kept clean. Even the salt and pepper grinders are soiled. I had to go to the bathroom after just handling the menus to wash my hands. That was a first. The food is also horrendously smaller in portion compared to what we've experienced. Either my table grew in size, or the plates shrunk. About 20% in portion size if I'm estimating. All of the entrees looked like as if they were ordered from a kids menu, and we don't even like large portions. What's the deal? I had the fish tacos with the salad bar. The salad bar looked sad and wasn't wiped down for over 45 min's while we were there. Most containers or sections of stuff were empty and needed to be refilled, yet nobody was interested in doing it. No croutons, oh well. The fish tacos were disgusting. The fish itself was mushy in texture like it wasn't even fish. The tortillas....weren't tortillas. Even the store-bought ones would have done fine enough. Other people in the table ordered stuff with chicken such as the tacos or quesadilla. Both said the chicken was ultra fatty and needed to be trimmed of fat. Nothing was hot, it was just lukewarm. The only good thing was the service. Albeit passive-aggressive and turning aloof once knowing we weren't buying specialty drinks, our waitress did her job better than the cooks did theirs. Maybe you'll have better luck when you come dine here. Who knows? Maybe we were there on a bad day. Either way, we won't be back. read more

Yikes! I don't expect high quality food at large national chains but this one didn't even live up to my very low expectations. I'm sure there are some good dishes on their menu but please steer clear of their dry rubbed baby back ribs. I have never tasted baby back ribs this dried out. Also, the dry rub is definitely like nothing I've tasted before. That is definitely not a compliment. This is the only non-breakfast restaurant within walking distance of 4-5 hotels so lack of competition has probably led to poor quality. You know, I'm such a pushover on these reviews! But you also know that I don't rate on some nebulous standard of what 5 stars should mean, I rate based on how well a place meets the need for which it's intended, and tonight it was wings and beer. I walked up to the bar and said, "Wings and beer." The young lady at the bar said, "Hot or mild." "You tell me, what do you think?" "Mild". "Ok, give me mild with a side of hot." Then she said, "What kind of beer?" You know me so you know how the conversation went from there: "You tell me, what do you think" "I like Blue Moon." "Ok, give me a Blue Moon," which I usually don't like if for no other reason than it usually comes with an orange wedge and especially since the angry looking non-communicative oaf with the f-off arm fold next to me had a PBR (see The Saloon), but I put myself out there so I had to stick to my guns and get the Blue Moon on her recommendation. Well may I say the tall, ice cold Blue Moon appeared immediately and shortly thereafter so did the wings, which have never been hotter (with heat) and the spice with the side of hot was perfect too, so coupled with the other courteous and prompt bar girl looking just like the star of Divergent, it certainly rated a DJ 5-Star for delivering exactly what I came for. Hopefully they'll work on their Yelp rating, which the young ladies were inexcusably ignorant about, because this is a nice little place and the salad bar is second to one (the salad bar at work, you figure it out!). read more

First time in Ruby Tuesday and what a disappointment. The portion was so small for the price they are charging. I ordered a chicken entree, with one side, and a choice of the salad bar. Seriously when the food came out, I felt like I ordered from the kid's menu or something. For $13.50, I had a small chicken breast with (perhaps) store bought bbq sauce pour on top with melted cheese. There was nothing tasty about the chicken. I chose onion rings as my side, and I swear there were like 8 small onion rings on my plate. Thank goodness for the salad bar. The entree wouldn't have full me up. I also ordered a shrimp appetizer dish. I was tastier than the chicken entree but not amazing or anything. The place was clean and the waitress was friendly, which why I give the place two stars. Good for Food Allergies Our daughters have peanut allergies and when we asked about safe foods, they handed us a binder of foods that were safe for peanut allergies (and others). Chicken fingers were moist and didn't look pre processed but the honey mustard look watered down. The ribs were true to their description...fall off the bone but must have been laced with MSG as I was very tired afterwards (or was it because of the large meal???). This is my first Yelp review. This place is a mess! I sat at the bar for an hour begging for a new beer and some food. When I sat down,sure they gave me the menus, and then NEVER for an hour, asked me if I wanted to order food. Nope, they hung around at the back of the bar playing grab ass with each other and totally ignored the customers. So I left and asked for a table. Wait staff was fine, but the food was horrible. The grease was dirty making the fried foods dark and tasting burnt. I sat and watched the manager sit at the greeting station sit there and pick her teeth! Gross!!!!! Just before food was served, girl who I assume was our waitress (she never said or introduced herself), brought our drinks. My iced tea had no ice. When she brought food, I had to ask for ice, which she brought. That was the last time we saw her until 15 minutes after we finished choking down our meal with empty glasses. My cajun pasta was ok except for the blackened bits of charcoal that was supposed to ckicken. The chicken in my wife's chicken sandwich was so dry and stringy she couldn't eat it. When the waitress finally reappeared after we finished, she didn't ask why most of her meal was uneaten. Finally got the check and she charged for the cheddar she asked to be subbed for the swiss. Grabbed a plate and it was dirty... underneath another dirty plate and on and on.. disgusting dried on food and gritty coating on every plate. Finally find a clean one and on to grab some salad. Everything looked old. Carrots were in water and frozen, mushrooms looked slimy and old. Hummus had a hardened coating on it like it was left uncovered in fridge. Simply put the whole display was gross. I informed the manager and she took it off my bill. I watched her and the staff looking over the entire salad bar. Pretty horrible service all around. My husband and I went to eat after a long, hot day at the fields for one of our children's sporting events. After getting a seat in the bar area almost immediately we were greeted by our server fairly quickly. This is where things went bad...after ordering a tall Miller Lite and coffee we didn't see our server for 16 mins before I got my cold beer. Our server brought the beer to the table assuming it was my husbands and then turned to me to ask what I ordered again? We corrected him and then reminded him it was a black coffee that we were missing. Our server did apologize profusely stating that he was also serving a large party in the other room. Ok, no big deal - let's order food. We proceeded to order for the table, chips and queso with 2 to-go orders. Chips and queso came out an add'l 15 mins later and was luke warm but at this point It didn't matter, we were starving. Finally, when we did receive our to go orders the crispy mac and cheese was room temperature on the outside. So I stuck my finger in the middle and to my surprise it was ice cold! After having left Jersey Gardens famished on a Saturday night (the lack of service at the Chili's Too made us get up and leave), my boyfriend and I decided to head across the street to Ruby Tuesday's. Now, this was my first time at Ruby Tuesdays. I figured it was something like a TGIF's or Applebee's. Surprisingly, I was actually pleased. The restaurant has a casual dining feel to it, with booths and tables spread throughout the restaurant. The place itself was clean and spotless. As soon as we arrive, we are immediately seated. Once we are seated, our waitress comes over ad hands us the menus (not bad at all considering the horrible service we received at Chili's Too minutes before). Our waitress was very friendly. She was always there whenever we needed her. We ordered the Queso & Chips as an appetizer. My boyfriend ordered the Parmesan Shrimp Pasta (spicy shrimp sautéed and served over penne pasta in Parmesan cream sauce) and I ordered the Chicken Fresco (grilled chicken breast with vine-ripened tomatoes, lemon butter, and a balsamic vinaigrette). My entree came with the Garden Salad bar and one choice of side (I chose the grilled Zucchini) As soon as our orders were placed, the waitress comes over again with complimentary Garlic Cheese Biscuits. Granted, they weren't Cheddar Bay biscuits, but they were good. There were many different options at the salad bar, all of which were very fresh. The food was really good. My chicken was moist, juicy, and full of flavors. The zucchini was prepared well. I hate mushy vegetables and it wasn't mushy at all. I got to taste my boyfriend's entrée and it was very good. I really liked their Parmesan cream sauce. Food portion size was alright and the prices were reasonable. Overall, it certainly is the better option in the area, especially if you're planning on heading to Jersey Gardens. Eat here instead of going through the aggravation of long lines and horrible service at the Food Court or Chili's Too. read more

They did recently make some changes to their beer list, removing most of the craft beers that I used to appreciate. Gone is the Dogfish Head and the Sierra Nevada IPA, instead replace by more mass produced beer like PBR and Molson. How disappointing. Three stars since they're a chain restaurant that seems to be following the instructions from their corporation and have little control over the products they serve. read more

My husband and I had dinner at this Ruby Tuesday while we were staying at the Extended Stay America across the street. The garlic and cheese biscuits were disappointing. Sorry, but I can whip up tastier biscuits in 30 minutes. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake appetizer was pretty tasty. Kinda small and overpriced, but tasty. The Grilled Salmon was satisfying as well. Nothing special about the sides I ordered: mashed potatoes and broccoli. The sangria pitchers are delicious, but not the best deal. It's kinda tricky to eat the fruit in the sangria, and a lot of it goes to waste. No complaints about service. Our waiter was right there whenever we needed him. Keep in mind it was 9:30pm when we showed up, and the restaurant was pretty much empty. Overall, not too bad for a chain restaurant. read more

Ugh... I hate leaving bad reviews... but it must be done. Our server was sweet enough, but really just not the level of service you expect when you go out to dinner. We had a group of 14, so I get that mistakes can happen. I ordered an appetizer that never came. When he started to bring out the main course 30 minutes later, I questioned him about it and his response was "oh we ran out". No apology, no offer to bring something else. Also note that this was at 4pm at the very start of happy hour, and it was the loaded chips advertised as one of their happy hour specials. How can you be out of chips?!? I had also ordered a water to accompany my Cucumber Cooler (which was delicious btw), after I finished dinner he said "did you want a water"? My entree was the Southern Fried Chicken salad and although it was missing the corn AND avocado, it was quite good. I probably wouldn't have taken the time to even post this, but when the water did finally come it had 2 little dead fruit flies floating in it. I tried to get his attention twice to tell him about it, but it just wasn't happening. The server never smiled, never came by after serving our food to see how it was. When she did finally come by, I'd been waiting 20 min for a refill on my water and more ketchup for the fries. We have been here twice on our trip with a huge party. The first time we went, we arrived late and found the manager taking care of us himself, a very friendly guy. We were very happy with food and everything about the service and place. The second time we travelled all the way from airport just to eat here. It wasn't our lucky day I assume. We found a hair in one of our plate. Which made all of us doubtful. We still did eat and food was still good, but that thing kept bothering us.
