Went out for a quick bite to eat never ate here before, unfortunately service wasn't the best it was dead and the waitress took a while to come to us, tables and chairs were sticky, the parm mac & cheese was not what it looked like on the menu tasted bland, food was just a little warm not hot like it was sitting in there for a while. what can I say this is probably the best meal I ate in New Jersey side for last two weeks!!! it is near four major hotels, across from shopping mall and accessible by public bus, by way near airport! I had blackened tilapia with mashed potatoes, salad and coke; - tilapia was fantastic, tasted good and cooked good ($14) - mashed potatoes were great as well, I got double portion - salad was especially good; first of all it's a buffet type so you get it yourself and choose what you want ($4) - even coke tasted good, not watered as at few other similar type establishments in this area all together it was ($18), which is cheaper than other places (Applebee's or TGI Fridays and few others) atmosphere good here, it's clean and inviting, employees are friendly unlike few other places. they have free internet and some tables have power outlet accessible so you can power up phone/laptop read more

Ruby Tuesday's is like an old fashioned cousin that hasn't kept up with the times... Still using dial-up while everyone else had broadband. Corporate rally needs to do a massive overhaul of the place, because it's totally bland. As soon as we say down I immediately wanted to leave. The place was pretty empty, which I don't really mind. The menus were sticky, like they have never been wiped down ever... Maybe the only forgiving thing was or waiter. He was pretty attentive. However I do feel like it took a little too long for us to get our appetizer and food. I'm not sure if I was seeing this, but the edge of my plate of food didn't look all that clean to me, but I didn't say anything because I didn't feel like dealing with that nonsense. I got some kind of seasoned fish, and I love me a well seasoned anything, but mine was overwhelming. My son got corndogs and French fries, and hubby got crab cake and chicken. He did mention that the crab cake was too flat, that it should have been more full. So, no I will not be back to any Ruby Tuesday's unless they do a complete overhaul. read more

We stopped here for a quick lunch after picking up my car from The Residence Inn parking lot next door. I had a smoked prime burger with bacon and cheese and the salad bar salad. Our server was a young man named Charlie. He was very good at his job, recommending some drinks telling us what his favorite was. He also asked me how I wanted my burger to be cooked which pleased me. So I said "medium". The burger came and it was not as juicy as I remember the prime was, and it was well done. I finally got the busy server's attention and told him it was well done. He took the burger back to the kitchen and came back and said they would make another one at medium. After a while I got another one. This time it was juicier. But the meat is not pink inside at all again. Our server came and peeked my meat and said that it was well done again and that he would tell the manager to take it off the bill. I really liked his actions - 1. he came back to make sure it was medium this time. 2. He reported to his manager and asked him to take it off the bill. The manager came to our table to see us (and the burger?) and apologized and told us he would take it off the bill. I always liked Ruby Tuesday for lunch especially because of the salad bar and I still will. The burger was not done right but our server Charlie did an excellent follow up. read more

I walked in right before the 9pm closing time. ( The hours on the door say 11pm, but there is a hand written sign show closing at 9pm). Sat at the bar since there was no hostess at the door. They were gracious enough to serve me even though I arrived just before closing. I ordered some water which does not taste good. I switched to Perrier. Ordered the lobster fondue which came with warmed tortilla chips (my favorite), it was good. Had the Hickory BBQ Chicken Salad and ask them to make it to go since they were close to closing. I hesitated to come here because of the lower stars(2.5) but glad I did. I enjoyed the food and friendly bartender and manager. Heads up the Google/Apple Maps has the incorrect hours. read more

Great Value We recently visited after a long day of shopping at the Gardens, my family was visiting from abroad and was their first time, so they were very happy to try American at such affordable prices. Stopped in this evening for dinner. It was not crowded, requested a table inside, had my temp taken and was seated. After 15 minutes of sitting watching waiters walk by me, I left. The other reviews said how terrible the service was but I didn't think it could be that bad, especially on a Tuesday. Wrong. Sat there and watched them all walk by and then left. It's simple - I like eating here because there's a salad bar and I sure miss those days when I could just waltz into a Sizzler and grab lots of salad and other junk from those counters full of cheap food. Ruby's will always get bonus points for me because this is one of the few sit-down restaurants near Jersey Gardens. If salad is what you're looking for this place gets a solid four-stars ... hands down. But man, the entrees were eeeeesh. I for some reason ordered the dry rub ribs and it looked like roadkill and tasted like mush. The color of the meat was kind of gross and it lacked any actual flavor. Honestly, dry rub should not be lacking in flavor, if done correctly. The only plus was that the meat was quite tender and was tolerable when bathed in BBQ sauce. The fries however, were pretty good. Here's a tip - if you don't want to eat food court junk or Johnny Rockets at Jersey Gardens, head over here, but just make sure you do the healthy thing and grab the salad bar option for lunch. Based on the entrees I've had here before (not just the ribs, but burgers too), I think you'll be just fine if you make it a simple, healthy meal here. read more

Great job from this RT location. Seated quickly on a Saturday night. Our server Pat was attentive and helpful. Suggesting how to order our steaks to compensate for the kitchen's penchant for overcooking. Adding the salad bar for 3 bucks on any entree is a great deal. I usually don't like potato or pasta salads that aren't homemade, but I always like them at RT. I was a little disappointed that the romaine salad and croutons were completely empty for my trip to the salad bar, but that was just timing. I glanced over on my way out and they were full again. Love the cheddar biscuits but they are kinda small so they should give you 2 per person instead of just one. Pat brought soft drink refills before we had to ask. LOVE that. I usually don't give a chain more then 3 stars, but Pat was great and she's why they are getting 4. read more

I'm already a fan of Ruby Tuesdays, most for their amazing salad bar deal. How often can you find an unlimited, all-you-can-eat salad bar along with a nice hearty soup or mini-burgers for less than $10?! Those familiar with the fancy digs of the Times Square Ruby Tuesdays may find this one a bit different. It has more of a casual dining feel to it, with some nice booths and tables spread throughout the restaurant. The seats are comfortable and the place is pretty darn spotless. It definitely feels comfortable, and the staff is attentive but not to the point where you feel that you're being rushed. I ordered my usual white bean chicken chili with the salad bar. I haven't had this dish in a couple months, and the last time I had it was at another location. I was really happy to taste the same warm, cumin infused flavor that I've tasted so many times before. The beans and chicken were tender and the chili nice and satisfyingly thick. The salad bar was fresh as always, with several of the items getting refreshed at least once during my time there. I love how crunchy their greens are and the grapes are nice and plump (seedless and sweet, my favorite!). This location is in the epicenter of shopping mania in NJ. On one side you have Ikea and Toys R Us, on the other is Jersey Gardens Mall and beyond that is Jersey Gardens Movie Theater, one of the biggest in the area. This is a prime location and definitely worth a visit, even if you're coming in from NYC. read more

The salad bar is a thing of wonder, I miss it at various restaurants. I overfill and usually have leftovers when I come here, but the crisp, cold salad is a boon to the hungry adventurer. While the dressings weren't labeled, at least most everything else is identifiable by sight. And the cut ham wasn't bad. Spinach and lettuce, but not much romaine. The cowboy ribeye, excellent mix of fat & steak, and medium rare is done right. The bleu cheese was a bit much, but the onions were fried pretty well. A bit salty overall. Only downside, on a quiet Sunday night, took a bit to get a refill, and the mangoes in the mango iced tea - impossible to get out of the drink (straw isn't big enough). read more

Does this not resemble a hockey puck?? 2 of the 3 ceasar salads our group ordered came with just lettuce soaked in dressing...about 20 min after they were ordered- so we could tell they were sitting in the back. Shrimp was rubbery and over cooked. Defintely won't be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else!!! We thought this would be perfect because it was right next to our hotel- let's just say I'm going to bed hungry. Ok, so I think the world has it out for me when it comes to Ruby Tuesdays - or they just suck in general. I have been to many of them and I guess I'mma glutton for punishment. My wife and I took in dinner here on a school night and sat at the bar. The bar was, dark and dreary and very unwelcoming. We ordered a couple drinks and they were cold and good. That's the only good thing I can say about this RT. So, we ordered.. My wife and I both the salad bar and we shared an Avocado Grilled Chicken Sammach - Grilled chicken with Swiss cheese, applewood smoked bacon, and sliced avocado. Topped with lettuce, fresh tomato, pickle chips, and onion. It tasted good. Presentation needed work, but we got what we ordered. The Salad Bar.. Now, isn't this what RT is known for? Their 55 or so choices for a yummy and healthy salad? Well, after needing to go thru over 15+ plates to find a clean one - which is BS, we finally started to make our salads. Now, they do have quite a bit of choices, but you can tell if the said choices are fresh. Quite a few of the toppings looked old and gross and the four lettuce choices looked old, brown and just about to turn. The hummus had a film over it that screamed "I've been out for hours!!!!" They have 6 or so dressings to choose from. Now, we all love choices, but when your choice is the one in the back right or left, you will most likely drip your choice of dressing into the others on the way to your plate. And vice versa.. if you're in love with some French dressing and it's front and center, it will no doubt have drips of Caesar, Bleu Cheese, Ranch, etc., that was accidently dripped into your beloved French.... Can't you just put them in pourers? That'll fix the drips! Nobody likes the drips! So, we asked to speak to the manager to let them know our druthers. Someone who didn't look the part of a manager, came over. She was dressed like she just came from gym and nothing screamed "Manager". I guess RT doesn't have a dress code for their employees because I would have thought we were in a gymnasium, not a restaurant, by the looks of her attire. Anyhoo, we told her what we saw, she apologized and we noticed fresh salad bar items were brought out pretty quick and old food was replaced with new food. Why does it take someone to say something before things happen? Don't they have employees to make sure items are fresh and good? I worked in a Charlie Browns and my Manager was the devil when it came to our salad bar. Is there pride in ones work anymore?? Well, I guess after this trip, I'll swear off RTs, unless it's just for a beverage or two.... Not recommended at all.. read more

In town and staying at the Marriott just right down the road. Came in for lunch and the place had a pretty good crowd with only 2 people sitting at the bar. I am very smell sensitive and the place just had a strange smell to me. Kind of musty but not dirty. IDK I really couldn't put my finger on it. The staff was friendly and the bartender was very nice and attentive. I got the salad and some soup. The salad bar was sort of underwhelming. The lettuce was on the older side and the tongs to pick up everything was kind of strewn about. Also no croutons. The salad I made was good all things considered. The soup came out and I was almost not eatable. It tasted very rich and I could only eat a bite or 2. The mash potatoes were okay. The drink the bartender made was good and again, was a very nice man. Overall experience wasn't great but staff made up for it. Not certain I would return. read more

While staying at one the hotels near by for a week we dined here almost every night for dinner. The service was good, especially when we had Evie wait on us. The chicken tenders here are not just for kids. So moist and tender like no where else. The salad bar is fresh and very clean. We liked it so much we wished that RT had locations in Washington State. Looked it up and sadly they are not. Plus I had Junior's NY Cheesecake while in the city but surprisingly liked the one here best. Be forwarded it's huge ... but soooo good. Don't let the low stars fool you & give this place a try. The only suggestion I would give the staff ... Please be more welcoming at the greeters area. read more

RT unfortunately has decided to take a route of complete cheapness. They were average initially but have now just gone downhill. 1. Service - service is generally fine 2. Price - way to pricey for what they offer. For ~$14 we got a piece chicken the size of our fist and mashed potatoes. Way to expensive in my opinion. 3. Add ons - RT had decided to do away with the included garden bar in the entree price. They now enforce an up charge of $4 for the garden bar. So the total cost of entrees now exceeds $18-$20. 4. Biscuits - they no longer provide the 'free' biscuits -- cheapo's.... 5. Napkins - they no longer provided cloth napkins. Napkins are paper. Again...cheapo's 6. Food - average at best. Nothing special for the prices they charge. I presume in a few months they will be replace metal utensils with plastic utensils and get rid of the free pop refills...... Stay away from this place.....hopefully they will shut down soon... read more

Horrible experience with the airport location nearby which isn't even listed on Yelp. Likely they don't want people to know how bad it is. Food all came out wrong. Burger was raw. Buns were stale and tasted terrible. The service was abysmal. We don't eat pork and they failed to keep it off our order despite our repeated requests. Waitress wrote down nothing from our order and said she did this all the time. Nothing was correct. We are only a party of two yet she still managed to forget everything we asked for. Write things down! Will never go to any Ruby Tuesday location again since they obviously have really bad quality control. read more

I should have known better than to order steak at a RTs. I even said I know it will be overcooked, but I tried it anyway. Not even close to rare- came out well done. It was dry and wouldn't have been edible if it didn't come tipped with the Parmesan asiago sauce. My friend's gluten free burger bun fell apart before she even got to take a bite. They seemed understaffed during the early dinner hours, despite not being very busy. We saw our server once throughout the whole meal, to take our orders. A runner brought out the food and a manager cashed us out. Salad bar looked great, but again, I learned not to order steak there. read more

Had a great trip to Ruby Tuesday's today. It's been a few years for us since the Paramus location closed down and we missed that salad bar! We decided to make the trek early on a Saturday afternoon expecting it to be dead, but were surprised to find several parts of 10+ people waiting to be seated before us. Our hostess -slash- waitress, Jennifer*, got us seated quickly and was attentive (even though staffing is clearly still a bit of an issue). Went there with tempered expectations and yet were pleasantly surprised. The salad bar was fresh and delicious and the chicken parmesan (a new menu item) was a nice, safe choice... The (3x) 25oz Sam Adams seasonals were cold and well poured and went down easily. Will be back soon! read more

Ohhhh Ruby, what's going on here??? I actually walked out. I was meeting some friends at the bar and after sitting there a few short minutes with no acknowledgment from the bartender, a young lady, we tried to get her attention and her response was "yeah give me a minute", and not friendly at all. I think the real problem is the management, but she still needs to know how to respond to a guest even if she's been stuck with the entire bar. She finally got a glass of water over to me and then the menu. And after watching her for a bit more I could tell it was going to be a long night and I just wasn't feeling like I wanted to eat there. I'd rather have IHOP for dinner. The service was bad three years ago, and it's worse now! No more chances, See ya! read more

My family stopped here on the way from PA to MA on June 15th and grabbed a lunch. The food was so good that I had to write a review. There were 4 of us and each meal was delicious. I enjoy the Ruby Tuesday lunch salad bar for $9, you can add two sliders with fries or onion rings for $1. Definitely worth the price and the dining experience timeline is up to you for the most part. We flew in today in advance of a cruise tomorrow. This Ruby Tuesday is right across the parking lot from the Embassy Suites (Newark Airport) and we decided to try despite the mixed reviews. We had great service - the server was pleasant and attentive. $2 drafts, $3 Margaritas (late afternoon on a Saturday), tasty philly cheese steak pot stickers, a Smoke House burger that was a perfect medium as ordered (and tasty), good fries, crunchy onion rings. My table mates had salmon and chicken mac and cheese entrees and enjoyed them. All in all, a good casual chain restaurant. read more

This restaurant was within short distance of Jersey Gardens Mall. Decided I wanted a turkey burger before did gift shopping for lunch. I got there early afternoon. and the restaurant was pretty full.
