Service not horrible but mediocre at best. My husband enjoyed his mashed potatoes, ribs and mac n cheese. The salmon I ordered was good but the grilled asparagus was not cooked well. The waiter bumped my plate when bringing it to the table and one of my asparagus went flying. I had a free birthday coupon for either the salad bar or a burger. I chose the applewood bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was greasy but tasty. The person I was with had the 6 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and house salad. The house salad wasn't much and the rest were ok. Do yourselves a favor and visit the Outback Steakhouse across the street. The food is so much better and the same amount of money. Hubby got the soup and salad bar. Requested crackers with the soup. Sorry, no crackers. My rib eye steak tasted like it was a pre-seasoned frozen piece of meat. The steamed broccoli had a funky flavor. To their credit, the salad bar was mostly fresh. Stopped here on the way to a concert. A bit hesitant due to only 3 stars and on a Saturday night at 5:30 the parking lot was pretty empty (the place across the street was packed). Staff was very friendly, server took really good care of our table of four, food was tasty (we got the Libby BBQ and were pleasantly surprised. Not sure why the ratings so low, maybe things have changed here for better ( or maybe our standards are low LOL) but we do recommend and suggest you give this Ruby Tuesday a try. read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience at this Ruby Tuesdays yesterday. After we were seated, it was at least 20 minutes before the server came by to even take our drink order. We wanted to order our food then but she said she'd come back which took another 10 minutes. They seemed to be understaffed but everyone also seemed to be moving in slow motion. After 30 minutes we finally ordered ribs and sat waiting for another 30 minutes at which point we were told that the ribs were still cooking and wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours! I had actually called before we arrived to ask if they had ribs and they said yes (we had had issues with the ribs not being ready at another location so wanted to make sure). We asked again when we ordered and we're told yes. How it took 30 minutes before they discovered that they were not actually cooked is beyond me. It was the most ridiculous restaurant experience I have ever had and we will never go back there. We spent a full hour there and left without a bite to eat. Unbelievable. I have worked at multiple restaurants and understand that things can happen but oh my goodness, this was unbelievable. The management and communication at this restaurant was terrible. read more

what can I say it was great hot food and amazing staff . new GM Kevin came over and talked to us and helped make choices. the staff was so sweet and awesome . the tvs need some help and outside need to be cleanup paint and please cut the bushes over grown looks closed and rundown. inside is nice and smells good. can't wait to come back read more

Went for lunch with a business associate, host was friendly and noticed we had briefcases, offered to seat us at a booth so we would have work space. So intuitive and was greatly appreciated. I got the quesadia combo which comes with the Amazing salad bar. They gave the freshest and widest variety of different things I have seen in quite awhile. One trip was enough, I was so full I could not eat the other half of my combo. Our server was prompt, attentive and friendly. She brought us garlic rolls that we buttery, soft and steaming hot. Went to Ruby Tuesday Christmas Eve for dinner. We use to eat there once a week. Stop going because the restaurant was so dirty and run down. Music so loud you could hardly enjoy your meal. They started to make changes, told the bread away, cutting back on the size portion of the meal. Had to send food back many time because it was either under cook or cold. Decided to try it one more time Christmas Eve. Walked by the Salad bar food looks like it had not been clean all day. Got to out table and had to change to another, table was broken. Table cloth had tape on a rip, wall paper was coming off the wall, floor had food all over the place. I have never walked out of a restaurant before! Guess what, got up and walked out managers did not seem to care. Went across the street to Out Back and had a great meal. I Winn NEVER go back there again. read more

I went and visited this Ruby Tuesday in hopes of having a great meal but instead revived my table revived a burger that was well undercooked, a burger that was completely different from what the person ordered and, pasta that was supposed to have cheese sauce instead was just pasta. Maybe the service was mediocre today as it is 'Saturday' instead of 'Tuesday'... Maybe they should NOT SIT people in the section to be "waited on" by "bartenders". I am glad that I came for the Garden Bar as it was SELF SERVE and that I was not thirsty (refill only happened when "manager*" came by). Buffalo Chicken Tenders with NO BUFFALO SAUCE... lukewarm soup... ordered by others at my table. "Manager*" made a BEELINE for our table as several sat around looking for our bartende...er...waiter for at least ONE REFILL of water. At least the "manager*" brought us the check, then LEFT(!) Our bartende...er...waiter later came over and asked how we got our check(?!) I did not tip above 10% this time (as I was in Food Service for years, I understand the necessity for tips to balance wages, BUT I do no tip 15% or higher for mediocre service). * I put this beside "manager" as he was in a nicer shirt and slacks, but who knows. Ruby Tuesday's is a little expensive, but I'd say it's pretty worth it. Not my favorite restaurant, but ok. I usually get appetizers as meals there (I know it's weird, but usually cheaper for plenty of food) One of my favorite appetizer-meals I've had are the wings. I like original sauce the best. Worst customer service EVER.... we stood at the door for at least 10 minutes with not another soul around to be seated ....SEVERAL employees seeing us and not uttering a word. It was so obvious that NO ONE wanted to seat us. Someone from the back even came out and stood and looked at us and then turned and went back to the back.... I know they weren't at capacity because there were only 2 tables of people in the whole place and none at the bar.... it's no wonder they are closing them all!!! Ruby Tuesdays - How we've met up quite a few time already, but how I am pleasantly relaxed with you and your service. First off. its a 4 out of 5, due to the food being served great and pleasurably good!! A few times, I've came with my family and a few others. Other times, its just been my family & I. The place has decent landscaping around it. The wait is affordable, its not that bad, unless you bring a huge number with you. Its a little bit calm and relaxing, people are not that loud and noisy. Have had their salad bar, and its fine. They are slow at refiling things in there. Our meals are good the servers are good, too. I like the square designed plates they use with rectangular plates as well. The wait for the food to be brought or served can be better. But its alright. I find the set up on the table are set for parties, a tiny bit weird due to its size. Likewise..... It's all good. 4 for me on this place I recommend it read more

I came to Ruby Tuesday's to watch the VCU vs. Michigan basketball game. I sat in the bar area to watch the game. Ruby Tuesday's had some good NCAA basketball game day specials.Sliders were $1 and tacos was $2.I ordered some sliders and a fried chicken taco. The sliders were good. The burger on the sliders came medium. If you like well done meat, be sure to tell your waiter. The taco was average. I ordered the Ruby Relaxer drink. The food was excellent but the experience stunk. We stopped in to get (4) to go orders. The Bar Area smelled like cigarettes, now realizing it was the two guys sitting beside us. I moved to the end of the bar. Our wait was reasonable but gave the two time to go outside and smoke another cigarette. This time we had to move to another location. Don't smokers realize that after smoking, when they talk, they are STILL blowing all that smoke that's now trapped in their lungs into the faces of whoever they're near? Just after hearing a lot of plates breaking in the kitchen our food arrives. My Wife says, "Thank God" as we paid with a $100 bill, which they would not accept due to they don't have a pen to check for counterfeit bills. This was a wonderful experience. Dionte the waiter was awesome and very attentive. I ordered the artichoke dip and it was perfect! I have had many from different places but theirs was pretty great! I ordered the shrimp pasta and the shrimp was seasoned to perfection! I'd recommend this Ruby Tuesday definitely! read more

This restaurant sits directly across from Outback, which was my original choice. At the last minute I saw Ruby Tuesday and remembered their excellent salad bar and happy hour drink specials. I recommend the lime cilantro dressing with spinach from the salad bar. I always order the grilled salmon and grilled vegetables. Nice value and a quality meal. For a road warrior, this chain represents consistency and fast service. read more

My wife and I eat out a lot. We loved the Ruby Tuesday at Broad & Gaskins, then one Saturday we went you had closed it. Okay that one was great don't know why but we decided to go to the one in Mechanicsville VA today Sunday September 2nd 2018. Just to reference the Ruby Tuesdays you used to have way down broad street near downtown always sucked! That one you did right by closing! This one will be next and if memory serves because of the same lack luster (I don't give a crap about the customer attitude) We were seated in the bar area and the waitress/ bartender did not even know how to make a black Russian. kept bringing me a white Russian. so she took our food order and we never saw here again near our table again She was more interested in playing around with the manager on duty and disappearing with him in the back we figured they were having a lot of quickie sex. My wife would have loved to have more butter and sour cream for her potato but we could never find her. Then after we were finished eating we waited 5 minutes(I timed it on my phone) before I got up and had to hunt her down to ask her for a to go box and a to go cup for my wives dinner left overs. This is exactly what was happening at the downtown Broad street location and they are now gone! Its what was happening at the Applebees right up the street from your closed location and now they are also closed. I guess this will be the next location to close especially if the customer service attitude is (screw the customer I here to play and have sex on the job) I own 5 automotive service locations in the Richmond area and if I were to have witnessed what I just experienced at any of my locations, lets just say some employees would be working someplace else other than my shops. the drinks weren't that good, the food wasn't prepped how it was supposed to , it was very slow getting my food when business was slow.

Called ahead to this restaurant and they said there was a wait. We got there and they honored our call ahead. Yay. We get to our table. Server comes up, "what would you like to drink?" --no greeting, nothing. Water and sweet tea-- came back just fine. Yay. Server--"what would you like to eat" us- "we aren't ready just yet" -- walks away. Comes back 5 mins later-- we order. We got up to the salad bar then head back to the table. Half way through the salad, the food comes out.... a bit soon to be honest. The food was really unpresentable. It looked nothing like we have seen. It was pretty sloppy. My food tasted okay, I had herb crusted fish ad I didn't notice it wasn't cooked until my date who had another seafood dish was RAW. You could barely cut through it, it wasn't falling apart at all, it was awful. Server-- never came back to ask about our food or ever fill up our drinks. I had to flag her down and tell her about it which she took away from the table. We didn't want to reorder anything else. When she comes back with the check-- she says "I'm so sorry that happen to you, the same thing happen to me when I ordered that dish" "...... um what!? That is not what you say to customers. Throughout the night servers were sitting at tables and chatting. We even overheard one waitress telling her customers how wheezy and sick she was...... this place was a mess. Our server, Kristen, didn't seem to understand that there was an advertised offer on the tables that stated , "free shrimp fondue if we don't suggest it." Extremely rude and disrespectful. My family and I went to enjoy a dinner at this location. We sat down for 15 minutes without a single person coming over. They didn't even say we will be right with you. Simply ignored us. Another party came in AFTER us and were greeted promptly and almost championed. Not one but two people came over to them and were kissing their ass like the paperboy at Christmas. Still no one acknowledged us. I simply got up and left. We have eaten at this location several times, and while there have been some ups and downs, I must say that it has all been good of late. Last Sunday was stellar with Saige as our server. She was super friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. The garden bar was fresh and well stocked, and Saige delivered our plates piping hot, just the way we like it. Too often a server lets the food sit far too long in the kitchen prior to bringing it out, but not this time. The steaks were tender and delicious, cooked exactly as ordered. I went to ruby for a nice valentines day lunch with my boyfiriend. I give 2 only stars because my server Blake was outstanding, very attentive and knowledgeable. Also, the burgers were amazing.. But as for how comfortable I felt, that would be 0 stars. The General Manager had a very rude and condescending tone when speaking to me about how everything was going. Also when I was at the salad bar I could see her glaring at me. I am a former employee and quit for a better job opportunity, it was completely unfair to be treated that way as a paying customer.
