We were traveling thru SC and staying at a hotel near to Ruby Tuesday. We decided to give it a try. They do offer a salad bar as a meal or side. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the salad bar. The salad bar was pretty good and nice to have a choice other than fries. My husband got the bbq burger. The sandwiches were ok. Nothing to write home about. It just took soooo long to get the food. Don't stop by if you're in a hurry at all. Not sure how I feel about the place. read more

This is the worst Ruby Tuesday in history. Steer clear of this restaurant. The staff is apathetic. The manager shows no interest. Service is incredibly slow. They do not address your questions. The staff is made up of young people aged 18 to 22. The manager sides with the employees rather than the customers. My experience was terrible. I went to the restroom, and they started taking my plate even though I hadn't finished. I wanted a to go plate but that never happened because the waitress never showed up to see if we were OK, but I never got it back. The manager took $10 off my meal because my ribeye steak was, I assure you, not even an eighth of an inch thick. There was no way that could be classified as a medium well steak; it looked like a compressed sirloin. Even the manager agreed with me about Ruby, Tuesday steaks Furthermore, my waitress never came to my table to see if I was okay, which is why I did not tip her. Additionally, when my food was served while I was with my grandkids, we were not given any silverware and had to wait an extra 10 minutes for it after getting our drinks. Instead of providing the kids' drinks with their meals, they handed them large cups. My four-year-old granddaughter asked why they received such big cups instead of kid-sized ones; even she noticed that they weren't considering the customers. Never visit this restaurant on a Sunday; this is a small town, Orangeburg, where locals go to church and then to these restaurants afterward. I believe that most restaurants in Orangeburg, South Carolina, are underperforming, and the customers here have to endure it. I am from out of town, and I find every restaurant in Orangeburg, South Carolina, to be terrible and unacceptable. The waitress was over worked with twice the number of tables though she did the best she could. On a slow night, it took over a half hour to get burgers. We had the smokehouse cheeseburger. Finally got seated and took quite a few minutes for waitress to show and take our drink order. Ordered food and went to salad bar and found pepper seeds all over the bell pepper and cucumbers cut in large chunks vice regular slices. Had eaten half the salad before our drinks showed up. Ordered the $13.49 Steak Tacorilla and got a few pieces of steak and a sprinkle of cheese in each. The food didn't taste too bad. We were greeted with a list of things that they were out of, conveniently, it was nearly every basic side dish. When asked if they were offering the premium sides in place, and the answer was no. The excuse was the cash register won't let them adjust the price. I also was not able to get a discount for my basic side that they could not offer me either. My only recourse was to deduct from the tip. Unfortunately that hurts the wrong person, but that's not my problem as that person was not interested in doing anything to help. Wrong answer. I walked in the door and there were several people waiting to be seated even though there were many open tables. I chose to sit at the bar to avoid the confusion. I ordered a chicken Parm sandwich and a water. The food came out with a black thumb print on my plate that was a bit gross. I just wiped it off so I didn't have to stare at it while I ate. I went in by myself but I had an uninvited dinner guest join me for as I ate. A cockroach ran across the bar right next to my plate. I had mentioned it quietly to the bartender and advised her to tell her manager. I wanted to be respectful to the other people dining. I never saw the manager. I had also mentioned it to two other employees thinking maybe one of them was the manager. Not the case. What's interesting was the look on their face and the lack of concern from these employees. Thos tells me something. Perhaps this friendly little cockroach was a common thing. Judging by the filth in the men's room I wouldn't be surprised. I travel often and have been to this particular restaurant in the past and have never had any problem. It seems to me it's on a downward trend. Twelve years ago, my grandma brought my family out to Ruby Tuesday. In my head, we were having a great time. There were appetizers and main courses and some people even got dessert. Years later, my grandma confessed what a negative experience it was. Her food was expensive; what she thought would be a bit more upscale turned out to be bread with canned meat plopped on top without even a little spreading. Out the door for a lot of mediocre food was the experience of being $175 lighter, she told me. I'm a business traveler staying in an adjacent hotel to the Orangeburg Ruby Tuesday. After a hard workout I wanted something lighter for dinner, so I sought salad. Due to COVID, many fast food places--such as the nearby McDonald's and Wendy's--aren't serving salads. But wait... Ruby Tuesday is near, and they're offering 15% off carry out orders. Best. Day. Ever. Or so I thought. I regret to report the salad wasn't even mediocre. It's so odd, especially for a restaurant so well known for a good salad bar. The Parmesan was not fresh. The dressing likely was pulled from the bottom shelf at Walmart. I still have the Always Save taste in my mouth. Pro tip, Ruby Tuesday's: The Caesar dressing from Aldi would be a step up. Worst of all, the chicken was pretty dry. Imagine beef jerky, but the chicken kind, and you'll have a good idea of what to expect. My total with tip was about $12.50. I could have spent $4 less at Wendy's for a salad ten times as good. I laugh at the reaction Ruby Tuesday leadership might have if they learn they're in competition with Wendy's and they're losing badly. On the bright side, those brown croutons are mighty tasty. The mashed potatoes left much to be desired - they were dry and crumbly - and served without gravy (none was available; apparently that's a Ruby Tuesday corporate standard). There was nothing else I expected as it was only a dollar; pre made, Not strong, basic. We sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty down to earth and enjoyable. Again...eating on the road, trying to think of something not too bad; Ruby Tuesday's salad bar. I had to check the internet to make sure they were open and had a salad bar...bingo on both. While on the Internet I checked the menu/prices. Once we were seated I asked the waitress about the add salad bar for $3 and she said $5...little confusion over that. Me and my friends decided to go eat here after prom, and first, we were greeted at the door and they told us about a 5 to 10 minute wait with many open seats left. Then proceeded to seat us with the rudest server ever as soon as we sat down, she gave us attitude and then when her other table left, she proceeded to cuss about them and say rude stuff about them behind their back. Then when our drinks came out one drink was just carbonated water, which I had no issue with first because it has happened to me before, but then she had an attitude with us asking for a different drink whenever we did want another one. Plus another one of my friends got a sweet tea and the sweet tea was absolutely disgusting. Then when we ordered our food, she told us about 15 to 25 minute wait for our food and then it proceeded to take almost an entire hour to even receive our food then we didn't have any silverware but she ended up giving us unrolled silverware from the side of the table and then on top of all of that, our table was absolutely dirty when we sat down. Then me and my friend went to the bathroom. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It had toilet paper everywhere. No soap. Than at the end she said she had a "rough day". The management didn't even come out to apologize for the salad that came out. Lettuce at the level of expiration that lettuce was food bourne illness level.
