Wish I had read the reviews before stopping at this Ruby Tuesday. Of all the restaurants at this I-95 exit, this was "the best" of the bunch. Mistake - Not! I ordered the Shrimp Fondue. The "unlimited" Tortilla chips - picture attached - were way over cooked. My glass of water did not come with a straw. My Bacardi and Coke had the lime I ordered - not sure of the rum content, though. My twins had the corn dog and hamburger kids meal. My son said the food was "good" while my daughter refused to eat stating the food was "disgusting." Wife had the chicken quesadilla. She complained that it was too spicy. In a land of Chik-Fil-A, Shoneys, Cracker Barrel and Waffle House something like Ruby Tuesday in theory should come through like a shining beacon of better food and not slouch towards the informal or truck stop-ish environment of everything else around but........ We roll in on Saturday around seven and are seated no problem. Our server seems with it and our drink/app orders are taken right away. After a few minutes she comes back to say that spinach artichoke dip is not available since they forgot to thaw enough of it so we could either wait around 30 minutes for it to thaw or order something else. We obviously weren't waiting so we tried the spring rolls and that was a mistake as they were very, very dry, burnt and flavorless. Two people in our group got the garden bar which they pronounced as good although both commented that the area had not been cleaned in a while as there was lettuce, shredded cheese and dressing splattered all around. Entrees of a kids burger, kids grilled cheese, broccolli cheddar soup and a turkey burger were pedestrian and it annoys me to no end the portion control that RT practices as a chain by not offering you a bottle of ketchup for fries. Instead you get these stupid little shot glass sizes cups of ketchup and if you need more ketchup they give you another shot glass cup of ketchup as opposed to just giving you the damn bottle like anywhere else would. D-U-M-B Plates were removed and refills were brought efficiently enough but even still the food quality was less than ideal and at the core this place is no more than a dimly lit truck stop diner with square plates. Our dining experience in a word? Weird. This was only my second time eating at a Ruby Tuesday, so I thought I had some idea of what I was getting myself into, but the mismatched glass lampshades, unevenly placed dark booths, and misaligned light fixtures threw me for a loop when we first entered. The decor isn't just dated; a better word would be surreal, as though you're sure you've accidentally wandered into an amalgamation of every divey restaurant you dined at in the nineties. As far as diners' comfort is concerned, we actually ended up switching booths before ordering because the tables weren't spaced evenly throughout the restaurant, and we felt cramped in the one in which we were initially seated. This wasn't a huge problem -- stuff like this happens on occasion -- but it's still worth mentioning as an indication of just how disorganized the whole restaurant seemed to be, this being despite at least a dozen staff members servicing only a handful of tables. (As an aside: since we were on a road trip, the first stop for several of us after we were seated was the restroom. While this has little bearing on my overall review of this location, I would like to mention that they were clean and well-maintained as best I could tell, so thanks to whoever's on top of that. You rock that mop.) Service started off fine, with our hostess and waitress both friendly and accommodating. Two of us ordered entrees while the rest of our party opted for the open salad bar. The entrees took a bit longer than expected to arrive at our table, so naturally some of us finished our meals far sooner than others; it wouldn't have bothered us if a woman who had been seated after us hadn't received her entree ten minutes before we did. When it did finally arrive, the food ultimately tasted good, had decent enough presentation, and was cooked to order. It did take ten minutes to get a bottle of ketchup for some fries -- again, weird considering the ratio of staff to patrons -- but we were in good spirits and enjoying each other's company. Then the checks arrived. We were about to go ahead and pay when we realized that the totals were a little higher than we had initially expected. After closer examination and a borrowed menu from the hostess, we discovered that each of our meals had been up-charged at least $1 per person. It amounted to little more than a few dollars, and really wasn't a big deal, but we decided to bring it up to our waitress anyway considering that the prices did not reflect what was printed on the menu. It seemed like an odd, unintentional mistake, and one that could be affecting other customers. She also thought it was weird, and told us she would speak to her manager right away. When she returned, a single dollar had been removed from both checks. Since the table had split the overall bill, that still left a couple entrees at incorrect prices. At this point we asked to speak to the manager directly to try and get the issue resolved, as our waitress had kindly done all she could between her boss and the POS system and we simply wanted to get back on the road. Ten minutes went by, during which we began to wonder if the manager would actually appear at all. When the manager did arrive, she curtly informed us that while she was sorry for the charges, prices had apparently been raised for dinner service -- at 3 in the afternoon -- without any indication of this on the lunch menus that we were given. It was really bizarre. She spoke as though we were expected to have known this unstated rule and patronized us, as though this was somehow our fault. It took an incredibly unprofessional amount of back and forth before she finally agreed to drop the remainder of the up-charges, but it just felt so dehumanizing to be chastised over something so ridiculous. Again, it really wasn't a big deal, and it didn't have to be a big deal, but this woman was imbued with the self-righteousness of a managerial crusader, determined that in this instance the customer was very much in the wrong. So, yeah, it was a weird experience. We paid for a meal and received an unnecessary lecture. Not sure I'd recommend it to anyone else. read more

The staff here works so good together. Even though they were understaffed they were extremely efficient and on top of things especially Myra she was super friendly. I have only been in one time I'm from Jacksonville so the fact Ashley new my order for the 2nd time shows how well this staff works. I will be back for sure read more

Very surprised at how bad our meal was. The restaurant was literally out of everything! Only had 2 out of 6 draft beers, very little bottle beer selection, very little liquor, no baked potatoes, no dips etc etc. At one point they told us they couldn't take our order because the kitchen had 14 pages! What does that mean??!!!! The staff was trying but they seemed to be out of a lot. One of our meals was wrong- at that point we didn't even care. Sat at the bar, overall area was not clean. It's hard to rate a place that you didn't eat at. We tried, but they obviously didn't want our business. We arrived tonight around 7. They said we would be seated momentarily. There were ample empty tables. But then, we were told that the kitchen was understaffed and we would be waiting at least 20 minutes. Then it was 30 minutes. Or maybe even 45. They weren't going to seat anyone until the kitchen said so. Really?! But we were assured that the wait would be more than double if we went across the highway to Cracker Barrel. I wanted so badly to give a better rating when I updated my review. However I can't bring myself to do it. My wife and I came in for a quick lunch and had a good feeling when we seen so many people working. (In prior visits we've had issues with the service.) Unfortunately "more" doesn't mean "better". After being seated, we got up for maybe three minutes tops to go to the salad bar. Upon returning to our table, the person that just sat us a couple of minutes ago had already cleared our table in preparation for others. I had to highjack silverware from another table so we could eat our salads. Our server, though nice, would disappear for long periods of time, and we sat with empty drinks for what seemed like an eternity. Later we asked for a to-go box and yet again our server was nowhere to be found. My wife was wanting to order a coffee to go with our dessert, but decided not to because at the rate it was going, she wouldn't of gotten it until long after she finished her dessert. If I could give this place a zero stars I would. We went in after a long road trip. When we were greeted at the door we asked to be seated in one of the open booths at the front so we could watch our dog in the car. At first she just stood there looking blindly around the room. When asked what the problem was, She told us that the person whose section It was is picky. And she could not seat us there. It wasn't her section. Then she just stood there. At that point, we suggested us anywhere. So she took us to a two person booth. As I sat down, I brushed food off of the table on the floor with the menu. The menus were dirty. The table was dirty. The wall had food stuck to it. When we did order, we ordered chicken strips as one person's meal, and some sort of new taco thing on the menu. The chicken came out after about 15 minutes. And she said the other one wasn't ready yet. The person who ordered the chicken had already had their meal eaten and we still did not have the taco thing. And looking around, our waitress had headed back towards the bathroom and had not come out. Finally she came out and we found her over by the bar. We asked if she could check on it. She went back and promptly brought it to the table after our asking. She said it just takes a lot longer for the quesadilla taco thing. Much longer than to do the chicken chunks. At that point we were just ready to go. And looking around another couple came in after us. And they were talking about going to McDonald's next door. They were tired of waiting also. First it is so hidden we barely found it. I wish we didn't. Second. They sat us at a broken booth. Third, they give us the two for $22 meal that in include a appetizer. The appetizer they offer are both out of stock. Moreover, the buffet was down however. when in New York they would make personal salads for the individuals and you could order additional if you wanted. I ordered the ribs and shrimp combo. The ribs were very good but I had tattered tots and was never offered ketchup. In addition. With the ribs you think they would offer additional napkins or refills. What a disaster. The only reason this place stays open is because it's right off of 95 so no repeat customers needed. Every car in the parking lot was someone from out of state. I placed an online order which said it would be ready at 8:44. It was not ready until 9:15 because they "could not find the Awesome burger". Why give a time if it's not accurate at all? I paid an extra $1.99 for sweet potato fries but got regular fries because they were out and they didn't offer to give me my $1.99 back or offer a free piece of cake for the inconvenience. My husbands side was supposed to be a baked potato with butter and sour cream. What he got was a plain dry baked potato. No salt or pepper or butter or sour cream. Where is the quality assurance checking the to go orders? I drive by this place 2x a month on my way to Columbia but I doubt I will be back. What can I say, it's...average? Maybe a little less than that. We came on a Saturday night and the food was okay. We ordered from the 2 for $24 meal and the sirloin was over cooked and dry despite asking for medium. In addition, the tables were all left unclean unless patrons came in to occupy them, meanwhile there was a wait. It really made it hard to eat with someone else's scraps and garbage at the table right next to you. I'm unsure why they left the tables unclean unless they were short staffed. We had a bbq burger with fries and a turkey avocado burger with fries. Dinner was good. The service was good too. They let us know That They didn't have any avocado when they served my husband's burger. They didn't give him a choice. They did take a 2.00 discount off our check for the missing avocado. Wife ordered honey salmon bowl which arrived on a plate, with "balsamic dressing" so hot she couldn't eat it. Her Cosmo tasted watered down even after sending it back to add more cranberry juice. When we arrived on a Sunday night, the hostess said it would be about 10 minutes. I decided to go to the bathroom, and on the way, there were about 6 tables and boots available. Why did we even have a wait? I could hear several of the waitstaff complaining about the kitchen being short staffed. When we got seated about 25 min later, we had a nice table by the windows. I am only giving this place 2 stars because of the waitress we had. She was way overbooked on tables but kept a pleasant demeanor and did everything right considering the circumstances. We entered this place while traveling and there was nobody at the check in stand. I went to look to see if sitting at the bar was a possibility and the hostess was sitting at the empty bar with her head down. She came to the front a minute or so later and showed us to a table in the most sluggish way possible. Then she went down the row of tables and stopped at the end and lowered her head like she was wanting to go to sleep. Shortly after that 2 of the female employees got into a shouting match in the ladies bathroom that all could hear. Almost wanted to leave then but we had our order in and were hungry and tired. I can see why this chain is on the verge of death, a real lack of consistency. The food was good. The service was hit and miss,you would think smiling occasionally would be fundamental to the job. My burger was great and my wife loved the chicken sandwich. The real problem is the price. The last time my family went here to eat we ended up walking out and going to Cracker Barrel. We stood in the very small waiting area while MULTIPLE staff members walked by us either on their phones, chatting with other staff, or whatever else they felt was more important. We were not even greeted and we stood there for at least 15 minutes. The restaurant was nearly empty so there was absolutely no excuse for this to happen. We have a 1 year old, so it was extremely inconvenient to get him out of his carseat, brought inside, only to have to turn around and get him back in his carseat to drive down the road and start the process all over again. On the occasions that we have stayed to eat, it was just as unpleasant. The fish was dry, salad bar was lacking almost everything except lettuce, we only received one refill on our drinks the entire time because nobody ever came to our table, the zucchini was raw on the inside (still crunchy like a cucumber) but burnt to a crisp on the outside. The spinach artichoke dip has CHUNKS of artichoke heart. Its like they bought a can of artichoke hearts and just dumped them in whole for the sake of not having to put any work in to chop them. When the salad bar is appropriately stocked, its delicious. Still doesn't have very many options, but what they do have is good. read more
