So I have been really trying to support my black owned and neighborhood businesses. I decided to try this place as I thought it was a new place in my area. I was wrong this place is a rebranded buffet spot. While I understand rebranding to try and stay in business I feel slightly deceived. Anyway I ordered a wing platter and Mac and cheese from this place. I went to eat my order and the wings platter wasn't as advertised. The picture and the description show the platter comes with wings and fries. However, My order only had wings. I called and notified the restaurant that my order was incomplete. The person i spoke to first said my order didn't come with fries and then she. told me I didn't select fries when I placed the order. I told her there was no option to select fries . She went on line and tried to place the order herself. She realized then that there is no option listed for fries. She told me initially that's no her fault there should be an option and I needed to contact Door Dash. I asked her what I should do now because my order isn't as advertised. She told me to place another order and she would credit the fries. I told her I would have to pay for another order and that wouldn't benefit me. She didn't seem to have another solution and She later told me she had to call Door Dash. None of which helped me in my current situation. I'm giving myself 2 stars for this review and visit to Ruby Buffet... I had no intention to stop in for lunch... But I did, and it turned out that I realized that I wasn't hungry as soon as I was seated... On to the business here... Very nice interior. Hostess was nice enough to initially try to seat me at the front window when the place was close to empty... Come on lady.. why not give me an application to work here if you're gonna expect me to walk to the back of this place every time I get up.. She seated me closer to the middle of the room. I asked for a glass of water, then wandered over to the buffet.... I circled the two buffet islands, the sushi table, and soup and dessert table twice, then thought to myself "wtf am I doing here"... Yeah, there's quite a bit of food here... But nothing really here that was a must have. Not even the sushi table, which I usually like at places like this. Not much really looked appetizing. Worst service ever !!! The food had a disgusting appearance it look like it was there for hours . Some of the dishes had a bad taste . Cod fish salad was bad already and it was still there to be serve . The waitress ask for (mandatory tips ) even before we could get some food in our mouths. Seafood lover's delight. Enjoyed the fresh oysters and clams on a half shell. They also had stone crabs, snow crab legs, mussels, large shrimp on ice, and dozens of entrees. They only put out enough snow crab legs for about three hungry people's platefuls, so it was while before they were replenished. I didn't think to ask as the other reviewer suggested, so I won't discount for that. I also agree, the sushi bar had all the rice cake stuff BUT you also had plenty of tuna, shrimp, salmon, crab claw, and other raw fish sliced nicely with several options for adding to taste (hot horseradish, soy, etc.). THAT I have not seen anywhere else on a "buffet" at this price point. I don't mean to come across as politically incorrect, but the fact is that there were quite a number of Asian patrons having dinner tonight, and that's usually a sign of authenticity and quality. I came here this New Year's Day, and this restaurant is easily the worst buffet/restaurant I have ever been to. The food was greasy and highly unappetizing. The kitchen manager was touching and serving food without gloves or a hairnet while he was rubbing his hands on his clothes. When my brother was trying the food, he had to spit out every bite because he claimed everything was overwhelmingly salty and some of the meats even had an off and almost slightly spoiled taste. As my grandmother was trying to put some food on the plate, the aforementioned unsanitary kitchen manager swiped the tongs from her hand and very rudely began telling my grandma to stop and began banging the tongs over the counter. When my father tried to reconcile and have the kitchen manager apologize, the manager said (I kid you not), "Get the fuck out of my face and the restaurant!" Do not ever come to this restaurant unless you are looking for a genuinely terrible and disgusting meal and horrendous service. I myself have worked in the food service industry all my life, and have never encountered such poor customer service. Most definitely will never return and I would highly recommend that any readers of this review to do the same. read more

For a chinese buffet, this visit was pretty good! I would give 3.5 stars I was here a few years back and hated it. You had to wait forever for the crab legs and they would put like a pound out at a time when they know there's five people waiting and their food was bland. And Even if you stood there in front of the empty pan it always took 15-20min. They must've gotten alot of complaints! I need to start this review by stating that I am not a big fan of buffet restaurants. Ruby Buffet is new and everything is clean and the design is pretty nice. The people that work there are super friendly and polite. The quality of the food was pretty typical for these type of restaurants. There were a lot of fried foods and starches. The food I tried was bland and a bit oily. The $9.95 for lunch on Sunday was reasonable. Kids seem to like these places and for them they are good a choice. There is bound to be something they like and they have soft serve ice cream. For me, I would rather go for the lunch special at a better Chinese restaurant and just stick to one dish and a soup. Be careful ordering over the phone if you are not familiar with the menu; they will only offer you the 1 lb when 1/2 boils exist as well, but they won't tell you that, then when you try to change your order to fit your needs merely 2-3 min after placing your initial order, they tell you "it's too late." I had a nice, late lunch here this afternoon with me mum. They were understaffed, but Casey came over and provided exemplary customer service. Mom had shrimp 3 ways, with pasta. I took advantage of the salad bar (not bad), and had a baked potato. Mom raved about her meal, mine was as good as can be expected for what it was. The RESTROOM, however, while appearing fairly clean, smelled like my worst of nightmares; DEATH even AND the floor was sticky. I usually go to this buffet often with my children. Today they asked to go, although I wasn't hungry i decided to take them. When we arrived I told them the children would be the only ones eating. When I came back with a plate for my year 3 year old she didn't want to eat so i tasted her food. When it was time to leave I grabbed my bill and went to pay. I don't know why people are expecting like a high end experience for $9-$15 . It's the best lunch buffet in the area, they had alot of seafoods even for lunch! I had mussles/clams/calamari/butterfly shrimp. Taste was fine because there's alot of people so fresh food came out often. As for dinner, no there's almost never any snow crab legs for dinner, just don't expect any and you'll be fine. Even if there is, there'll always be two morbidly obese people sitting 5 steps from the snow crab legs tray, devouring any that comes out of the kitchen, and leaving none for the rest of us anyways. Pretend the crab legs are not even on the menu. Honestly, even at higher price buffets ($30-$40 per person kind of buffet) they'll have a guy handing out crab legs in a limited number, why would you expect unlimited crab legs at $15 a person? And fresh sushi? Those waitresses look overworked and underpaid already...i'm just happy they'll take my plate away and bring me my water. There used to be alot of good Asian Buffet places in the Marlton/Cherry hill area(s) of South Jersey. All of them have closed in recent Years, except for this one. Typical bulk-processed buffet food (battered, greasy, steamed etc) Nothing to write home about or merit a 2nd visit. If you use a coupon they make you purchase a soda which adds another $3 per person to the tab. (a similar trick used by CiCi's Pizza) Fried rice and grilled chicken were ok. Vegetables were limp. Much smaller buffet selections to choose from. Summary: This place is run "on the cheap" so expect such. Call up your local reliable Asian take Out place instead if you want better. My dad loves this place. If you enjoy quantity of food with decent taste, as well as a nice variety of different tastes to tingle the palate, this is the place for you! I would recommend not casting too wide a net if you are coming to enjoy your meal, as there are truly a lot of selections to choose from, and you'll get stuffed quickly. Try a handful of different things, then come back next time to try more, as the pricing here for the value they give is VERY economic! My only complaint is that staff could keep the food serving area a bit neater by cleaning after customers (i.e., dropped food along the sides of the serving areas). I love this buffet. Best one in my area. Food is fresh and good. One of the only buffets that still have crab legs. Lately though the bathrooms have been awful. I understand that it's the public doing this but if they checked them more often they could keep them clean. Paper towels on the floors. Toilet paper on the floor. Woman's room door won't close Men's room has same issue with trash on the floors. Stall doors won't close. Sinks don't drain properly. When my husband and I see this it makes us wonder what the kitchen looks like. We are hoping they get this cleaned up or we may have to find a new place to eat. Went back only this time we watched the woman filling the food pick food up from the counter and put it back in the tray. 3.5 stars Why does having a 3 star rating seem so low?!?! But a 4 seem so high? I'll hook them up with a 4 star rounding up!! Yes, this isn't the best of the best, but it's a dinner buffet (cheap one too), so i base my experience on what the establishment is, not what i want/wish it to be. Their crab legs were actually pretty good quality and not even salty. I know some places salt it so they don't overeat it! Lots of people were lining up for that. So be patient. My mother chose this place for her birthday dinner last night. I have been to quite a few buffets in my lifetime, and this one is as bad as it gets. I guess I will start with the positive points, the wait staff was very nice and friendly. That is about as far as it goes. The buffet itself was low grade. I love general tso's chicken but the sauce was watery and bland. The selection was far and few between. I love sushi, but the sushi bar looked nasty, most of it looked squished and topped with way too much caviar. There was a lot of seafood which was stewing in water and just didn't look appetizing. Basically I paid $13 for a plate of mediocre Chinese food. There was a small selection for dessert of which none really appealed to me. Now for the icing on the cake...my mother's best friend had just gotten a plate of dessert with some fruit, she sat down and then said to me, are you seeing what I'm seeing? I looked down and on the lip of her plate was a small squished COCKROACH!!!!!!! I wanted to throw up at that moment. She then went and got the restaurant manager who's response was "I don't know where it came from." My guess is that it came from the kitchen...duh. She then proceeded to tell us that she would take off $10 of our $132 check. At that point we were pretty shocked at how disgusting the kitchen must be and at the complete lack of customer service. If I ran a restaurant, and someone found a COCKROACH in their food, I would be horrified, apologetic, and comp their meals. So when we insisted that we were not going to pay, the manager proceeded to call the police and basically the police came and said that we had to pay or it would be theft and to file a complaint to the better business bureau, which I will be. I have never in my life found a COCKROACH in a restaurant or have been treated so poorly by the MANAGEMENT. It was a disgrace and I recommend taking your money else where. What a shame. read more

Just had dinner here on Sunday nite. The place was pretty crowded but got seated right away. Huge selection of different types of food , seafood, Chinese, Japanese, American cuisine. I had huge salad they have big salad bar, lots of different seafood . I really enjoyed the desserts, had soft serve ice cream and they had large selection of pastries, cakes, fruit and jello. Family group of 12 visiting late afternoon. Not all of us arrived together. Service was poor, the table was not keep clean, drink refills and napkins were an issue. The restaurant was not busy so there was no reason for the poor service. The selection was not as good as other buffets. They use to have better selection and higher end items. The crab legs were added to the buffet a small amount at a time resulting with not getting any or standing around waiting for replenishment. They did not have any flavor. Horrible Mother's Day weekend outing...First of all, I didn't have a babysitter for my son so I had to bring him with my family and I. The woman greeted us irritably and placed us in a section where we could be monitored closely. She and, what appeared to be, the rest of the staff literally sat four tables from us and watched my family eat the whole time. I informed my family as I was too uncomfortable to eat. We asked for take home platters, but were told, they couldn't do that when we were even willing to pay. They kept trying to rush us and proceeded to sweep and clean near our space. When my father received the bill, my 12 year old son was charged full price when he only got to eat half a plate before they started packing everything up preparing to close. I did not enjoy any of the items that were still available and neither did my mother. They wouldn't dare make any adjustments for the mishaps and my father actually gave a tip (I'm guessing due to the smiles as they gave poor customer service and said, "Happy Mother's Day.") If I could give the restaurant zero stars, I would. Not so much for the food, this review is strictly for the way they run their business. My family was looking for a place to host a dinner for a special event. We went to the restaurant and spoke to Renee about making the reservation. When we were booking, she said a deposit was not necessary, but we put a deposit down so they feel better about our reservation. We were told that if we need to cancel the reservation, deposit would be refunded. A week later, we did decide to cancel the reservation. When we return with the original receipt for the deposit back, the girl standing at the front who claimed she is the "manager" said she can only refund the deposit in the form of a gift certificate, which was not mentioned at all during the reservation. When I refused the gift certificate and requested for the original form of payment back, she said it was "store policy" to refund in gift certificate, which was again was definitely NOT what thy said originally. When I asked for the owner of the restaurant, he was conveniently not available. The "store policy" was not stated anywhere in the restaurant, on the receipt, or anywhere on their brochure. They seemed very accommodating when you first make a reservation, but as soon as they have your money, they will make up any lies on the spot to keep your money. This is not a place I would ever give my business to. Again, I don't know how the food is, and even if it is good, I wouldn't recommend this place at all to anyone. read more
