This was the WORST pedicure I have ever had. Was in the area and looking for a walk in place, read the reviews and thought it was worth a try. Big mistake. Place was clean, if lacking in atmosphere. I went in for a mani/pedi, after the pedi I decided I would not waste my money on the mani. It started with an older woman , she basically just massaged my legs, no cleaning, filing, or basic nail care. After that another woman came and said she would finish, clipped a bit of cuticle and then started painting. I do a better job on my own at home, which I will be doing when I finish writing this review. It was inexpensive, you get what you pay for. Don't waste your time here. read more

Out of all nail salons I've been to in the East Bay, this is the best nail salon I have been to. Lisa is the best and patient, she takes her time doing my nails and facial waxing. Some of the nail salons I've been to were rushing and messy. It's definitely worth coming to Ruby's. read more

I'm actually generous and giving this place a two stars because I have been a loyal customer for 2 years, but if I could rate it today, it will be a negative zero! Today I got the worst manicure and pedicure by Lisa, the owner. I'm not a complainer and I don't say much, but I'm pretty much fed up because she's done my nails before and it was poor quality! DO NOT, do not let LISA do your mani and pedi!!! She will not clean your nail polish off like a professional. She's also really rough on your hands! She was rubbing my hands so hard with lotion, it turned red! I'm not sure what she was trying to do, but it was not a massage! I get my nails done regularly at different salons so I know good quality compare to half ass ripping me off! I was desperate to get my nails done today, so I was stupid enough to let Lisa do my nails again, knowing that she's going to do a half ass job. She rushed my pedi and mani and did a crappy job as I predicted! She only care about making money and try to get as many people in as possible before they closed. She's not about giving you the quality you deserve. My pedicure was awful! I barely got a foot scrub and the water was not warm. I only liked one technician (Kim) and she's longer there. Kim and Ruby (Lisa's husband) are the only two people who does quality work. Ruby is a really nice guy and he is probably the only person with a personality at the salon. This will be my last visit due to the poor quality of service since my last 3 times I was here. I will not be coming back! Note to management: Keep your customers, especially your loyal customers happy by giving them salon quality manicures and pedicures every time!!! read more

Lisa does a great job. I had broken two nails a few days after getting a fill and she fixed them free of charge. I was going to Glory nails on Clayton but Lisa does just as good and the prices are more reasonable. I also came in on a time limit and she was fast while still doing a great job. read more

The only reason I am giving this 4 an not a 5 is because my nail technician didn't communicate with me very well and I have very short square nails. I should have paid more attention, but I am use to getting asked a lot more questions. I prefer rounded, I hate square, and he filed down all the nails that were longer. I don't like that either. If I have some length on some and not others, I like to leave it. He took them down to all the same, which I understand is suppose to look better because they are even, but I just don't like it, and again, I really don't like square. On the plus side, the rest of the staff is nice and attentive. Arm and leg massage for most of the time I was there was an added plus, and the nail technician did a good job with the paint and cleaning my cuticles. Next time I just have to state what I want up front for the entire package, but I will be going back. read more

I went here yesterday for the first time for a pedicure from Lisa and I was very pleased with the service. I had my 2 year old son in my lap the whole time and Lisa still took her time with my pedicure and made sure everything was good. This was a great place. My friend and I did walk-in. The ladies here were very accommodating. Lisa did my pedicure and my shellac manicure and my eyebrows. So I went here with one of my friends awhile back and we both got a full set. However are experiences were very different. My technician did a beautiful job shaping and exicuting the long stiletto nails I wanted, however my friends technician was hardly trained and all of her nails came out crooked and off set! Fortunately the lady doing my nails had seen my friends and was able to rework some of the mistakes the other person has made. After we were done and paid we went out into the world and within a day of working retail my friends nails were already chipped! Within 3 days my nails were lifted so bad I just peeled them off because they were causing me so much pain the same goes for my friend. I will say they had good prices for a full set but they were the most expensive press on nails I've ever had if you know what I mean. Also I don't think I would come back for a full set. read more

The first time I visited this nail salon I was pretty happy about their prices and also their store hours since they are open till around 8 p.m. I went in for a fill on my acrylic nails with regular clear powder. First, at least I started doing my nails and then when she found out what I do for a living she began to act like I was there to serve her. I appreciate nail specialists trying to figure out what their clients do but after about 20 minutes of talking to her about her issues I was definitely turned off. Anyway, she told me that she would give me a fill for about $20 and that she would give me a free gel top coat, with UV dry, and naturally I thought that this was really generous of her and told her to go ahead and do that. Left pretty satisfied but two later the gel began to bubble up on three of my nails. This was before an interview that was very important to me and so naturally I was really upset and did not have the opportunity or time to go back and get them fixed. Nevertheless, about 5 days later I went back and kindly asked her to fix them, she told me that she had never encountered this issue before and that it was something that I did. About two weeks after I went out to her again because I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that it wasn't the quality of her gelcoat. But yet again about 4 to 5 days later my gel coat started to peel off and bubble up on just about every single nail. I went in again and asked her to fix them and she did, this time I got a full fill. This time the thing that upset me was that she said she bluntly said to me that she didn't want to give me a top gel coat, free or not, because of the past experiences that I had had with her. I thought that this was really rude and it left a terrible impression. I haven't been back since. I have found a new place in Concord, and when my new nail specialist saw the condition of my nails he agreed they were done with poor quality materials. I feel extremely bad for giving this salon one star but I was really unsatisfied with my service. All I came here for was for a set of acrylic nails. It took 3 hours! My appointment was at 12:30pm and they did not finish with my nails until 3:30pm. To top it off, my nails looked dreadful. They did not even dry completely so when I got home I noticed that all my nail polish was damaged. I contemplated about reviewing this company because they are really friendly but I will never return back to this salon. Do you yourself a favor, spend a little bit more money and go elsewhere. My nails look like a 5 year old painted them. I am now having to spend extra money by getting them fixed elsewhere. read more

The lady giving the pedicure was nice but not thorough. She just wanted to get the job done quickly so she breezed through it. I saw other people getting longer foot scrubs. The nail polish on my nails was goopy and she had smudged it with her fingers (had her finger prints). When I sat down to dry them is when I noticed it. Some of the nails were also not painted all the way. I had to point out the first one, and then all of them one by one. Finally, she had to redo them all. Wonderful spa pedi, including yummy-smelling salt scrub, paraffin dip, and hot rock massage, for very reasonable price! Very sweet attendant, Linh. Highly recommend for the budget-conscious. The only critique I have is the wax was a teensy bit too hot, so ask them to let it cool for an extra minute before putting your foot in. read more

Her costumer service is good, but the quality is very poor. After 2 days the gel peeled off from my manicure, and it looked horrible after 5 days. This never happened to me before when I did my nails elsewhere, but I had to go to her because she was open late. I will never go to her anymore.
