It was ok. They have a very large menu, the staff wasn't super friendly, but they weren't rude. I ordered their version of a bacon/egg/cheese on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. It was a bit on the smaller side and was a little softer than I like my bagels - mostly because it was a little too chewy. There wasn't much jalapeno cheddar flavor to it either, but I didn't have to wait too long for my order to be prepared. The space itself is a little dark and could use some updates, but it's functional for what they need, I suppose. But unfortunately, I'm not jumping at the chance to go here again. read more

I wish I could give them 3.5 stars. Let me start with, I love going to Bagel Nation. Pros: The people are usually very busy but nice. The food is good. Their cream cheese and bagels are amazing. Cons: It is so small. People are always waiting for their food right on top of you since there is no good waiting area. The ceiling is disgusting. I am uploading a picture of the insane dust accumulated on the vents. There are also stains, broken tiles, and loose tiles. It makes me wonder what else, behind the scenes, is like that. Everything I can see is very clean, except the tiles. I still go there and enjoy it, but... don't look up. Update: My mom refuses to go here now, her favorite place, because the kitchen was so dirty. I did not take pics and this was already like two weeks ago, but I explained we must have had an off day last order because my sons (3.5 yo)bacon only Had like barely 2.5 pieces of bacon and it wasn't edible, it was greasy yet not cooked through. So we ordered our food which was two breakfast sandwiches, another order of bacon and a bagel not toasted to take home. The cashier must punched it in on the ticket a full order of bacon, cause I immediately heard someone say why would someone ask for a whole order with an attitude, so I tried to explain. Anyways, we waited for our order and while they did that I asked for the bagel, then shortly after they handed me a small paper bag with two boxes. So I knew the sandwiches were in there but I checked to see if the bacon was. The guy that handed me the bag literally laughed and just said he wanted to see if I was going to catch the bacon missing.... Like really??! So he went and the back and there was more laughing and loud talk about my "missing bacon" and I just couldn't believe how he and that one lady were acting. So unprofessional! I mean we used to really like the food to go. But the place is rundown, just looking at dust on the ceiling, and their food and service has obviously gone way down. I told them to screw and we'd never be back. They literally have a new breakfast place opening up next door, so I'd be careful if I were them. I visited this shop in the late morning, and it was slightly busy but the staff were quick and efficient with the orders. They have great selection and you can see all of the flavors through the glass window. They also have other breakfast options, a fridge with many different cream cheeses(including oreo). They have a rack of "day old bagels" which is an amazing deal, i purchased 6 bagels for 4 dollars. I also found it unique that there was a banana nut bread flavor bagel. They have tons of choices for everyone. Although it is a slightly small store there are some tables to sit at and it has a nice diner type vibe. I come here a lot of Sunday's for breakfast. The service is always extremely slow but if you have time to wait the bagels are pretty legit. This last time however, there was no line at the register and all I ordered was 2 bagels with cream cheese. I waited half an hour before checking to see how much longer. There was still 6 orders ahead of me. I asked for a refund and left. I understand being busy but when I ordered, it wasn't and maybe 30 minutes would have been acceptable if I was ordering their breakfast sandwich bagels but for just a bagel with cream cheese? Thank goodness for bagels in West Ashley!!!! I have been waiting for this morning where I can get a bagel with cream cheese close to home for a long time! There were 11 coffee flavors to choose from and an iced coffee option. 20 various bagel varieties were available, including my northern girl favorites salt, everything, garlic, and cheese. Sandwiches were also available. While nothing beats a Detroit bagel, I am glad to have this place open so close to home and can't wait to visit again! They ga e me so much smoked salmon, it barely fit on the bagel. The bagels are large and full of delicious seeds. Try the everything bagel. We also tried the pastrami and corned beef sandwich bagels which were delicious. I liked the potato salad as well. Its hidden away in strip mall across from Home Depot so use your Google maps. Update. I don't know what's going on with this place but thank goodness they have India. She has been their saving grace with me right now. I've been here regularly since they opened. Today would have been the final draw had India not intervened. I had buy one get one breakfast coupon from Valpak. Management would not accept it. I explained to India's that thesis was goes it gets offered online but I paid for two breakfast sandwiches anyway. India showed the management how Valpak works online and they decided to refund me one of my sandwiches. When the manager called my came to get my breakfast sandwiches shed just left it in the counter. I hope these are mine. Yesterday I called in to place my order and the phone was sweet down but I read around the corner so I didn't mind. India apologized and offered to pay for one of my sandwiches. Monday I ordered the Jalepeno Chedder southwestern wrap and no incidents then. I was here this past weekend and my sandwiches was not even made until I had asked for it. I had low expectations, but I heard they import the water from the Northeast. I had a pretty good everything and cin raisin bagel with cream cheese. Both had a nice chew. My whole family enjoyed the bagels they had. I would love to go back and try their whole wheat everything. read more

Overall first time experience it was subpar. I got a quick easy frazzle bagel with honey butter and the best part of it was the sugar sprinkled on the outside. The cashier was not friendly and gave a very blank stare with no hello. Looking down with her face with her eyes staring up giving a very annoyed expression that I came in to order. (Wrote this originally and at the time decided not to submit) It's been a couple months now and decided to give another try because I know there's always off days. Same bagel but with cream cheese. Definitely a welcome addition to the West Ashley area, and a giant plus for being able to order ahead online. I am looking forward to being able to pick up breakfast sandwich bagels on lazy weekend mornings! I docked a star today because it seems they're still going through some growing pains which is as expected for a newly opened location. I ordered the Liberty Bagel (smoked salmon / lox) which the person who prepared it didn't really know how to make. She handed it to me in a bag initially and then snatched it back (literally lol) after the other woman in the prep area told her it wasn't prepared correctly. They made it like a sandwich the first time and cut it in half. When I got it back, it was in a to-go box with each side laid out separately as the sandwich normally is. It wasn't until I went to eat it that I realized they had cut the Bagel in half the first time but when they re made it they didn't do the same with the toppings and it was just falling apart. It tasted great, but was difficult to eat since the person preparing it was obviously still learning. Also, I read on the board that the bagel sandwiches come with sides but no one offered me one. I asked the girl at the counter and she let me pick one of pasta salad, potato salad or chips. Just a few kinks to work out. read more
