Pick 3 for $39.99- shrimp (no head), black mussels, snow crab. Comes with hush puppies

Have you ever felt like the world is conspiring against you? Like it doesn't want you to be happy? For instance, why is this establishment so far from my house? Why is the sauce so good? Flavorful and buttery without the heavy garlic. Try the Lemon Pepper/Cajun blend. Why is the seafood so fresh? No fishy taste. Why are the hush puppies little balls of happiness? Soft in the middle with a firm bite. Why was the strawberry lemonade so refreshing? It wasn't even house made, yet it tasted amazing. The space itself has somewhat dim lighting with a large bar, perfect for drinks and seafood boils. Or seafood baskets. Or wings. Or various other appetizers. Parking is plentiful and TVs are placed strategically throughout. They also have a 90-minute AYCE special. I wasn't feeling adventurous and the entire table needs to partake, but it's worth it if you have a huge appetite. The table across from us ordered shooters but we wanted to save room for the boil :D Would I return? Absolutely. 100%. Worth every single penny, and the waitress also made sure that we were comfortable. The Pick 3 for $39.99 is an excellent deal. ***This also looks like a place that stalkers would NOT be welcome. Meaning if you went out of your way to cause a scene, it wouldn't work in your favor. Just a heads up :)

Stopped in at Rock & Toss and had a great bday experience! Our server Sandy was the best, super sweet, attentive, and made some amazing drinks. I had the fried oysters and the steamed scallops, and both were so good. Everything came out hot, fresh, and seasoned just right. The drinks were on point and the vibe was chill but I had fun hanging with my girl. I'll definitely be back!

Came here for a quick dinner, it was very empty for a Friday evening but definitely got more lively as the night progressed. The playlist is a mix of R&B oldies but goodies from the late 90's-early 00's which is definitely my type of vibe. I ordered a boil bag which came out within 20 minutes (kudos to them for the efficiency) and was delicious--the Rockin Bomb sauce was a great touch. I will add that the snow crabs were pretty tough shelled and hard to crack for all of us at the table, and the meat was a bit "mushy" so they may have been slightly overcooked. Nevertheless, the food was still very tasty. The main con was definitely the service, our waitress did not check-in on our party after we received our food and a lot of people were missing ordered food items, we didn't have refilled refreshments, and someone had an "unknown substance" in their water cup. The only reason she ended up coming to our table was because we had to flag her down from the other side of the restaurant which was a bit frustrating. I will definitely be back in the future for their happy hour selections and to try other options, but I hope service improves.

Plenty of parking due to the shopping center that it in. Customer service was decent. The bartender and staff was friendly. The seafood boil had a great sauce. The catfish tenders were good too nice and seasoned. The drinks were strong, but good. I also enjoyed the oysters with the seafood boil sauce on top the lemon pepper wings were good too.

Okay so first things first, Rock & Toss got a bonus star for serving us popcorn. I'm not sure about the rest of us, but that was new for me. Moving on, this restaurant was a good spot to go to. I went on a random Wednesday night and there was almost no one there. A table here, a table there. A decent amount, including a lot of the bar section was occupied. I was craving a boil bag for weeeeeeks, and was truly satisfied this day. I usually order spicy, but got medium this time and still enjoyed it. Along with the noodles. A lot of seafood houses actually do not serve a lot of noodles as adds to bag, but here did. Another bonus star. Another time I'm craving seafood, I would love to return here. And next time, make it spicy, add some of the oysters to my bag, and.. of course, come full.

To know me is to know I love seafood boils, so I was really excited to try out this spot for the first time. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday and were seated right away. Even though this isn't advertised on their website, they have an option for AYCE boils, so if you're feeling gluttonous, this is definitely the way to go. As an FYI, the whole table has to participate and there is a time limit of 90 mins. The waiter starts off bringing popcorn to the table, which I think is a nice touch. I started off with a mango margarita, which I enjoyed. We did the AYCE option, and I started off with the Cajun wings. I enjoyed the flavor of these. For my boil bags, I tried both the Rock'n bomb and the Cajun sauces, spicy. The spice level was nonexistent to me. I liked the Cajun sauce better than the signature sauce, but both were too oily for me, tbh. I'm glad I got to try it, but I think there are better options in the area, based on the flavor and spice level. I do recommend this place if you want AYCE at a decent price.

Delicious food, terrible service from the manager! I'm in town visiting my family and my mom, cousin and I decided to try a new seafood boil spot. We love Hot N Juicy and we've tried Hook & Reel but we don't like it very much. Upon arriving, we were told it would be a 40 minute wait which is fine. Once we were seated, Kelly came to take our order. She was very pleasant and answered all of your questions. We ordered drinks, calamari and oysters as appetizers, however, we got our entrees before our appetizers which is not what we intended so we had to rush through our appetizers. We got a bit frustrated by this and on top of that we didn't eating utensils. Anywho, upon digging in our boils, we realized one bag included more crab legs than we ordered and missing items. My cousin flagged that she got too much food because she didn't want to be charged. The manager then came with a paper plate and told her to put all the extra food on the on plate otherwise she would have to pay for it. That was the weirdest experience ever! We later learned that our server, Kelly was also the bartender. We immediately gave her grace because it's not fair for her to be the bartender for the entire restaurant and have to wait tables. All in all, the food was great but the manager is awful. She wasn't friendly and provided terrible customer service. I'd go back for Kelly and her delicious drinks but that's about it.

It was... honestly not a good first impression for me. I went late one night after catching up with a friend across the street. I had heard countless great things about the spot, so I was quite excited to try it out. And though I wasn't coming for the food (which I hear is phenomenal when comparing to other local Cajun seafood spots), I expected a good time regardless. It was fairly empty in there given the time, and we looked over the cocktail menu. There were some strong looking ones on there -- a little pricey, but we were eager to try anyway. When we received our drinks, my glass was fine... but my friend got wine in a glass that was so scoffed it didn't even have to be held up to light to notice. I hate to say it, but it was one of the dirtiest glasses I've ever seen a drink served in. I didn't get a straw for my cocktail, and they happened to be laying (not standing up) uncovered in a box nearby... I had to grab one myself because the bartender disappeared for quite a while. Throughout the night, our bartender came and went... sometimes being gone for 15 minutes. Even then, sometimes she was present and not taking care of us or anyone else, and had some rather unprofessional and vulgar conversations with someone who was sitting nearby. I didn't know whether he was a significant other or not, but as someone on the job, it wasn't a good look. Especially since it occasionally took a while to take her away from that conversation to get attention. This warranted me to follow up with customer service immediately, which I grab delighted followed up the very next day and said they would look into that staff's conduct. While I don't know the status of that investigation, I do appreciate the time that was taken to hear me out. So points for that. But this was not the experience I was expecting, and am honestly not excited to go back after what I witnessed.

I decided to go on a Sunday when I was craving lobster in a seafood boil. I been trying a lot of boil spots to see who has the best sauce. Rock & Toss used to be my favorite. It had more kick then flavor. I ordered a seafood boil with 1/2 lb crab, lobster tail, & mussels. All the seafood was cooked to perfection. I also ordered a half dozen oysters. Those were very good. Im always looking for oyster spots in the bowie area. I am glad I tried theres, now if only they had an oyster HH I would be really happy. They do have an awesome all you can eat deal that I will try next time on my visit. You have to sit in the dining room to partake. This time I sat at the bar and Kelly took care of me. Her service & drinks were amazing! The restaurant could be a little more tidy. Besides that I had a great experience & drinks are 25% off Sunday!

Make Your Own Combo; crab legs, green mussels, sausage
    Geneva D.

With dozens of seafood boil spots, it's hard to stand out. With that said, this place is pretty solid for dine in, takeout, or delivery. I've done all with my most recent order being placed via Door Dash. I ordered the custom combo with Snow Crab legs, green mussels, and sausage with Bomb sauce hot. The bag also included corn and potatoes. The food was delicious, the bomb sauce didn't taste too oily or salty which can happen when you do the combined sauce concoction. I also loved that they gave a ton on sausage. Sometimes, when you order sausage, they only I've you 6 slice and that wasn't the case here. They gave me plenty. The bag was filling enough for a full meal for 1 persons but could also work for 2 if you got appetizers to supplement. Seafood can be expensive, so if you're looking for something with more bang for your buck, I would opt for shrimp or something slightly heartier since the pricing is the same.

    Hidden treasures boil, really good.

Ask the Community - Rock & Toss Crab House

    Is everything fried?

No, everything is not fried. You can call and ask them also what cooking options they have, grilled, sautéed, fried.

They have "open" on their website for pickup only. But, there's no option to order and they're not answering the phone. Does anyone know if there opened or not?

They are open for pick up, we ordered a week ago.

    Do they take reservations?

They have the online "call ahead" list that you can access via Yelp. It will basically put you in line but you can't per say choose what time you are coming. It just puts your name on the list....and you'll know how fast you have to get there, in…

Is it more of a sit down or are To Go orders a good option?

Is full service sit down seafood restaurant, Togo order is welcome too, thanks

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.

Definitely worth a visit, we will be back - The smothered chops are calling me already. Lunch for two with a take home order of wings & 2 deserts plus tip was around $100.

The fish (catfish and croaker) always tastes like it's been fried in grease that needs changing. There's no flavor profile in the food which is weird for a soul-food restaurant. The mixed veggies were absolutely disgusting-- gave them back. I paid $65 for fried catfish with two sides, fried croaker with two sides, a cookie and two drinks---and sadly, the only thing that was sort of worth it was the cornbread, but it tastes like it has coconut in it. I hate coconut. The item that was the most flavorful for me was the black eyed peas/hoppin John (minus the big pieces of fatty meat in them).

Now, I wasn't really happy about our seat but I couldn't see behind the wall to know if there was another table to request to move to. We were sat in the front corner I guess directly under a vent and it was already chilly outside. I didn't let it bother me because I really wanted to try ERRTHANG on the menu. Now, this is where I was about to get up and leave. We sat for a good while and NO ONE came to greet, take a drink order, or even ask have we been helped. I want to say it's because we were somewhat out of sight. Because it was freezing I got up and asked for another table, which was on the other side of the wall with all the other customers and much warmer even with the patio bar doors open. No, I don't remember my waiters name, but he came over immediately and apologized for us being stranded in the back. We went on to order our drinks which came fairly quickly and we ordered our food. I was kind of disappointed because he said they no longer served fried crab legs and should be taken off the menu, but that's OK. I was ready to order something else. I had Chef Mo's Shrimp & Grits and when I say it's the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life. It was amazing. The grits were three cheese grits with crawfish, étouffée, and large perfectly shrimp with some BOMB jalapeño beef sausage, which I would have removed, but I said let's do it. Best decision I've ever made. I cannot stop thinking about the grits. My friend ordered the Cajun fried fish and grits with a side of eggs (no pic). We both raved the entire time about how creamy and delicious the grits were. I didn't need to add anything, no butter, no salt, no sugar. They were absolutely amazing and I'm not even a huge grits fan. Now, the fish, the menu stated half a pound, which came out to be one small piece of whiting. I guess I was expecting a bigger piece or maybe two pieces because it was so tiny but that baby filet was seasoned to the gods, I mean perfect. The breading was so flavorful but not overpowering or salty. The eggs tasted like the eggs I had in the marines out of a bag, but he mix them with the grits and was fine. Everything was so good that we thought about coming back later that night to try something else. Please bring back the deep-fried crab legs

Tbh, La Caj Seafood Issa a NO for me. First, I don't like the name. Second, they're still under…read morerenovations, so I'll give them a little grace there. The space has more of a neighborhood restaurant with a small bar vibe, and they were playing a solid R&B playlist that kept the atmosphere relaxed. The highlight of my visit was server, Denise. She was friendly, patient, and really helped me narrow down my food selections. If the restaurant sees this, please thank her for me and give her a BIG, FAT RAISE!!! Now...the food. It was just...mid. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing stood out either. It wasn't memorable enough to have me thinking about coming back. Considering they're a Cajun-Latin fusion restaurant, I expected bolder flavors and more of a wow factor. As for the location, it's in an area that's clearly being revitalized and gentrified, but it's still not one of my favorite parts of town. The restaurant gives neighborhood bar energy more than destination restaurant vibes. Would I come back? Probably not on purpose. If I happened to be in the area with friends, and we needed a quick stop for food or drinks, sure. But I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here.
