The staff here were kind and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Nancy's Chicago-style pizza is very dense, rich and flavorful. Everything (wings, pizza and Caesar dressing) was almost a tad salt adjacent richness. Which may be typical for a Chicago inspired. Everything was extremely filling after only one slice, two wings and a portion of the salad. Overall, everything was pretty good. I got everything in the smallest portions and there were so many leftovers that will be stocked in the freezer for later. My only suggestion is better bags for larger carry out orders. read more

Downgrading from 5 to 2. The pizza is still some of the best in town, but the in-house dinning has become not worth going. The last two trips have been exceptionally long (1 hr+ for food for four), loud, hot, and little to no service. Wait staff are hard to find and inattentive. I've been searching everywhere for it and found Nancy's Pizzeria on Reddit. I was not disappointed!! I got two thin pizzas, I ordered mine with italian beef and onions on it. At first look, it looks like it had no toppings on it. But the toppings were actually under the cheese. This was honestly one of the best pizzas I've ever had and I've been wanting to go back to get the same exact one since I tried it. I will say they are a little pricey- both pizzas (mine a small, the other a medium) came to around $50. I could probably eat the small alone if I was hungry enough. The food is very good and if you are from Chicago, one of the only places in the area to get authentic pizza and sandwiches. That being said, the in-house dining service became very spotty, so stopped doing that altogether. Now, my recent experience with the carry out was just not acceptable. Party of 4 on a Friday and we were seated in less than 5 minutes. Our waitress rolled her eyes when we ordered the extra crispy stuffed sausage based on great online reviews. Those reviews... I don't get it. The cheese didn't bring much flavor to the party and the Chicago style left me underwhelmed. This was my first experience. The breadsticks were good to half our party and not loved by the other half. The rustic crust spicy pepino was my favorite of the night but it's more about the toppings than the crust. Ever since my visit to Chicago a couple of years ago, I've been hooked on authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza. A few coworkers recommended Nancy's, saying it was the closest thing to the real deal in the area, and they weren't playing. I stopped by for takeout after work and was genuinely impressed. Normally a 5 star pizza place for our whole family but tonight, and I guess all future Monday nights, not so much. Nancy's does do a great trivia night, especially at Christmas BUT now if you don't reserve a table for trivia on Monday don't bother showing up. Our 6:00pm arrival found zero tables available as all available tables were pre booked for the 7pm trivia. Three tables in the bar that nicely seat six, two of the table take by groups of only two. Maybe require three or four to use the table, especially when bar spots for two are open. More than a dozen patrons were turned away at 6pm despite a room of empty tables, all reserved for 7 trivia. I've heard about how good the pizza is and I'm on a quest to find thee best pizza in the area. I ordered to go on a Saturday night. It was not crowded at all. Service was great. The host made recommendations and answered all my questions. The deep dish is the favorite but I opted for a personal size thin. crust with 3 toppings because the deep dish was too much for me. I also ordered a small pepperoni and peppers pizza rustic style (regular crust) and wings fried hard with Nancy's sauce. Total: $60. Yup for a personal size pizza and a small pizza and 7 wings. I should've stopped it right there but I was like oh this is the BEST pizza so let's go. Well, it was Not the best and it wasn't even good (the pizza that is). Now I'll say the wings were delicious. Hence the 2 stars. I didn't like the pizza. First the thin crust was sticking to the box. So when I got home I had to pry some pieces off the box to eat them. This made the top separate from the crust. So I just ate the toppings and soggy bread. Helllp Dominos! The sauce was lacking and it just was so basic. I expected better for the price because they charge a base price and then almost $3 for each topping. ‍ Harris Teeter has better pizza. The other pizza tasted a little better. We were in Raleigh for our pups heart stent surgery at NC State. And I wanted a Chicago style pizza. So after some searches, Nancy's came to be my pizza of choice. Cool place. Very clean and welcoming. Our server was great. The food was absolutely amazing. I wanted pizza. But also had to try their Italian beef sandwich. I got the regular Italian beef with hot Giardiniera and sweet peppers. I really wish I had added some cheese on it. Because it doesn't come with cheese. And I love cheese. The sandwich was great. Very good taste and a lot of meat. The gravy to dip it in was tasty as well. I ate half of it, because I wanted to try it hot. And took the other half back to the hotel. I also got a medium stuffed pizza with pepperoni, bacon, and Canadian bacon. And this pizza was freaking amazing. The sauce was one of the best sauces I've had. I've been going to Nancy's since it opened several years ago. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Chicago pizza having been brought up in the city and always get their thin crust, which is the kind of pizza most Chicagoans eat. Do tell! The big news is they're under new ownership! From what I can see from a recent visit it's a really good change. The new owner is friendly and a hard worker and I'd say the same about the staff. We happened to be there on a Thursday night and they were offering half price on any size thin crust pizza, which is a bargain! They also had live music too. In the weeks since I've been there looks like the special on Thursday's has continued, but check their FB page or get the newsletter to verify or call them. When friends from Chicago recommend Nancy's stuffed pizza I knew it would be delicious. The restaurant was quiet and with no waist. We started with Italian breadsticks and chicken wings. The breadsticks were delicious. The wings were crispy and well sauced. The thin crust was addictive but the stuffed pizza truly knocked it out of the park. I had never heard of this place but my friend purchased a Groupon for it so we gave it a try. The business is located in a shopping plaza with a shared parking lot in front. Plenty of tables and a bar were inside. We came right in and were greeted by our server (Bobby Ryan) He joked with us and told us which items were popular and good. We ended up ordering a thin crust pizza and wings. The pizza toppings are charged separately so it can add up quickly depending on how many toppings you get. We got a medium pizza with 4.5 toppings. The pizza def looked smaller than a medium size I am use to. We also got an order of 7 wings. Our bill was $52. There were only 4 wing sauce flavors to choose from so we got the hot wings. One sauce that we had never heard of so our server let us sample it. I thought it would be an ok dipping sauce but not something I would want on my wings. For our last night in Raleigh we decided to celebrate with some deep dish, and (according to local friends) apparently Nancy's is the place to go! We started with some fresh local beers on tap, and a couple glasses of merlot, then nommed on a tasty caesar salad before the main event arrived: TWO beautiful, GINORMOUS, cheesy, thick, delicious deep dish pizzas. It's been a hot minute since I've been to Chicago and (see previous review!) had the amazing fortune to go on a work-sponsored deep dish pizza tour. So I can't say if this pizza was as good as some that we experience on that epic #pizzajourney. But if nothing else it was close! And just like my Chicago journey, I was only able to enjoy two slices before I was too full to do anything else but go back to our accommodations and take a long winter's nap. Nancy's is in a slot is a grocery store chain strip mall, but the pizza is the best in the Triangle. The sauce, the dough, the cheese, all perfect. Their Deep Dish Pizzas are better than Chicago's Deep Dish Pizzerias. Of course, Nancy's is a spin-off from the Chicago chain of Nancy's Pizzas. They have great salads and make great drinks, have a good selection of beers, and have always given us great service despite the hard time finding reliable help, or help at all. Why is it that nobody seems to want to work? How do people survive without working? Where are the high school age workers that used to work at pizza places like when I grew up? Not sure why all the negative reviews but I guess they're probably from takeout or delivery orders. We had an overall positive experience here. The food was solid and delicious. The only thing keeping me from voting 5 stars for the place is because of the pricing for their pizzas. We ordered Boomin Rings for 13 bucks, Bacon Ceasar Loaded Waffle Fries for 10 bucks, and their medium 10 inch Original Chicago Style Deep Dish Cheese Pizza for 33 bucks. Not sure on the cooking process for this type of pizza but I thought the price for that size pizza was rather steep and that too it was only a cheese pizza with no toppings whatsoever. All of the food we ordered was really tasty especially the appetizers. The boom boom sauce on the onion rings was bussin' and had a great kick to it. Loaded fries were bangin' as well. The pizza was really thick and stuffed with so much cheese which took it next level. Because of that each slice is pretty filling. If you're not aware of Chicago style pizza, they layer the ingredients in reverse - a bunch of cheese first on a buttery like crust and then the tomato sauce on top. We had plenty pizza leftover to take home. Overall, a very good experience here. It's good to try once if you haven't tried Chicago Style pizza before.
