It's about the fact that I was quoted 2-3 weeks ("often quicker") for Even Realities smart glasses in June 1st, and seven weeks later I have nothing, with three more weeks now on the table. The timeline I was quoted did not match the 3-5 weeks the store later said was standard, and the waiver that supposedly documents that timeline was never presented to me at purchase because the associate was new. My order was stuck in customs. That isn't the store's fault. But twice, at the five-week mark, I asked to cancel and receive a refund so I could order directly from the manufacturer. I was declined both times and told a remake would be expedited instead. That decision, refusing a reasonable cancellation request on an order the store could not deliver on time, is entirely theirs, and it's why this is one star instead of three. By the store's own words, they "recently became a partner with Even Realities, and have not foreseen U.S. Customs holds as a potential issue for our customers' orders." That's the whole review, really: they sold a product they weren't ready to fulfill, at a premium over ordering direct, and wouldn't let me out when it fell apart.

We had a job gone wrong (third party lab damaged the Patient Owned Frames). The usual standard operating procedure would be to ask the patient to purchase new frames or cancel the lab orders. I had a long shot idea. I reached out to the frame's creator, European Optical, seeking their expertise. From the moment I called, Debbie, the staff on the phone was professional and helpful. "Don't let the lab do the repair, send the frames to us and we'll see what we can do." Astrid, the owner and the creator behind the EO by Astrid frames, worked her magic above and beyond my expectations. While most eyecare practice providers prefer not to relens Patient Owned Frames due to accidental breakage that may happen, I am thankful that the incident gave me an opportunity to connect with some lovely humans and the most unique collection of eyewear in Laguna Beach.

Over a week later, my left eye is burning because I'm wearing a contact from yesterday and I'm on my way to Disneyland today with no new contacts. My eyes are very sensitive to light. I went to Costco over the weekend, and I was told they don't carry Percision1 by Alcon. I asked if they had ProClear, and they did, but they needed to see Dr Griffin's prescription, which I did not have. After calling 3 times after I didn't receive the contact lenses, I asked the associate to call the contact lenses provider, Alcon. She called me after and said the contacts were on back order. And I had to ask they ordered me more trials. I had requested trials, and received four 2-day boxes and have no more. They ran out. I'm so disappointed in this entire experience. And I don't want anyone else to have the same thing happen to them. I also hope the Griffin team learn from my experience, because I'm definitely not purchasing contacts from Griffin again. I

I have great insurance -- $10 co-pay for my exam -- yet somehow I still walked out paying an extra $40 for a retinal photo scan I was never told about until after they'd already decided I "needed" it. When I asked if it was required, all I got was, "The doctor recommends it," which is optometry speak for "It's optional... but we're doing it anyway." After scheduling an appointment weeks in advance, I was notified the evening before the morning appointment that it was not possible and would have to be rescheduled. After rescheduling and waiting two more weeks, I get a phone call the day of telling me that unfortunately they're going to have to reschedule. Service used to be exceptional here unfortunately since they've been taken over by total vision, it has gone downhill and I will now be looking for a new optometrist and very sad that I have to go outside my hometown and do business elsewhere now.
