Consistency is wonderful here. We have been patrons for over a decade. Absolutely the most delicious Rellano I've had in California. Rivals Los Cruces, NM cafes. Light sauce and special peppers based on Abuela's recipe. Family owned and usually a family member present. Nice salsa bar and light homemade chips included. All of the traditional foods, with excellent frijoles (refried and black) as well as Spanish arozz. Cold Modelo available, as well as others & soft drinks. Mexican music not too loud! Found this place next to americas tires around lunch time and figured I'd go there and wait. They had A LOT on the menu but I only got a super burrito with shredded chicken! Honestly, it was very good! The service was also great! Definitely a good lunch spot when you're in a hurry. Another thing I noticed was the cleanliness was great! I'll be back for sure! read more

Ambiance: great traditional Mexican restaurant vibe. It's a cozy place to have a meal with a great staff working the counter and kitchen. Service: employees are friendly and helpful with recommendations. I never felt like a bother talking to them or asking for anything. The food wait was not long and an employee checked twice to make sure we were doing okay and ask if we needed anything. Food: the food was GREAT. But let me tell you something first. Their al pastor and carne asada are what they do really well. I like whatever meal I order with those meats. The tacos are great, super burritos are huge, and the carne asada fries have thick fries. What a wonderful family owned restaurant! Fernanda was incredibly welcoming, very friendly and provided marvelous customer service! I ordered the 2 item platter with a crispy shredded chicken taco, pork tamales with tomatillo sauce , Spanish rice and refried beans. Everything was absolutely delicious! The masa in the tamale was not heavy and the tamales had alot of meat. The chicken taco was full of yummy shredded chicken. The chips and salsa bar had an assortment of salsas. The taking of orders properly could be improved. There's always something wrong when I pick up food for my wife. Maybe I should mention that I am not a big fan of Mexican food but this looked like a good place. Out of all the family-owned and operated Mexican establishments in the Rocklin area, I would have to rate "Rudy's Mexican Gourmet" as being one of the better places I have been to. And for those that live here, it is a nice alternative if you don't wish to drive to Sacramento for that amazing authentic flavor. Located in a quiet strip mall directly on Stanford Ranch Road and adjacent to Sunset Blvd. in the heart of Rocklin, Rudy's has been around for quite awhile; since the mid 2000's. Since I have not eaten here in many, many years, I figure why not pay a visit to see if they were as good as I remember. I came here on the afternoon of Saturday 9/19/2020 at around 3:00pm. During my visit, all indoor dining was closed off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they do offer generous outdoor seating. The hours are fairly standard as they are open for the most part from 10am-9pm. I ended up going the simple route by ordering 3 delicious street tacos with Carne Asada as my protein of choice. They were priced at around $8 for the trio and chips/salsa were complimentary upon my dine-in. I also ordered an iced cold Horchata to wash it down with. Since they had waiter service, they brought my tacos out in less than five minutes. Overall, the food here is very tasty while the salsa they used on the tacos was delicious. They were fairly generous with the amount of meat they used in these as all 3 of the street tacos filled me up quite well. It is nice that Rocklin has a family Mexican restaurant that can rival some of the bigger cities with way more options to choose from. All in all, our service was outstanding while prices were a little on the higher end of the spectrum. But the overall quality of the food was as good as I remember while they were generous with their options. After factoring in everything, "Rudy's Mexican Gourmet" was a good above average restaurant. Located off of Stanford Ranch Road in Rocklin, between Starbucks Drive-Thru and 7-Eleven, is Rudy's Mexican Gourmet Restaurant! A girlfriend of mine recommended Rudy's as she is from San Diego and raved about how good this place has the best Mexican Food in the area. I was craving some late night street tacos and luckily, Rudy's was still open for takeout until 9:00PM on a Saturday during the pandemic. You can conveniently order online through their website and food will be ready within 10-15 minutes. I ordered the CARNE ASADA and AL PASTOR STREET TACOS. The ingredients were extremely fresh, especially for being almost closed for the evening. Each order included a side of sliced limes and radishes. This place definitely hits the spot for your late night craving for Mexican food or just something fresh and flavorful. I saw that they had a CHILE RELLANO on their menu and cannot wait to return to try it! Restaurant is extremely clean. Service is friendly. FOOD IS AMAZEBALLS!!! read more

Ordered from Rudy's Mexican Gourmet for dinner tonight through the Yelp app and my order was done perfectly. My order: 1 Steak Chimichanga, super. 1 Chicken Chimichanga, regular. 1 Carnitas Burrito with green sauce, super. 1 Large bag of tortilla chips and 1 mild salsa. I hate to say this because the business might lose a bit of money but their regular size chimi is probably enough for two people. I had the carnitas burrito. The pork was moist and tender, flavorful and cooked just fine. You know how this big company Mexican restaurant does their burrito where the ingredients are not spread out? It's not like that at Rudy's. It doesn't lack in ingredients, so when Rudy says super, it is super. I also asked for the guacamole on the side and they even placed it in a little container. Thank you for that. As for the chicken chimi, I took a bite after my wife offered. Usually, a deep fried burrito ends up crispy good but greasy but Rudy's isn't greasy at all. The chicken had a nice flavor and for a regular size, it was enough for two people. For the steak super chimi,our son was able to finish it. He's a growing boy, after all. But, I saw how the steak was chopped perfectly and how nicely cooked it was. Again, evenly distributed ingredients. Don't waste your money at the Mexican restaurant that makes their burritos looking like flautas. Try Rudy's and you might never resort to eating blah again. Chips were fresh and delicious as with the mild salsa. My question to Rudy's is, if people order takeout, are chips and salsa included or it needs to be purchased? I have been driving by Rudy's Gourmet Mexican Restaurant for months. I finally stopped in. The word Gourmet intrigued me. The inside is very comfortable with lots of Frida Kahlo paintings. The menu is extensive and complete . If you have not tried Mexican coffee- try it. A hit of chocolate and aromatic coffee in a big pottery style mug. I also know the coffee beans they use are only available at Rudy's! The meal portions were plentiful. If you order the Carne Asada, the Carne portion is almost the size of the plate, then add the rice, Beans and pico. For a first timer who was curious after months of driving by, I was pleased I finally did swing into the parking lot- I could have enjoyed Rudy's Gourmet Mexican food earlier! I lost my purse by leaving on the roof of my car and having it fall in the parking lot. A customer returned to the restaurant with my bag and handed it to the owners. After two days they looked in the purse and got my ID from the Drivers license and found me on Facebook. Fernanda commented on my post regarding my list bag. When businesses start to cheap out on the cheap things, it's going downhill! $16 Al Pastor burrito, up charged for the addition of sour cream and guacamole and the burrito had absolutely none of either of those. When it was brought to the attention of the woman, she tried to grab some on the side and the young dude who took our order then comes to try and gaslight my boyfriend into thinking there is some inside, when clearly there wasn't! I grabbed takeout from Rudy's Mexican Gourmet this past week. Overall, I found it "just OK". The food was well packaged and .... presented when I opened the boxes. I ordered 2 Enchiladas and a Taco Salad. The Enchiladas consisted of ground beef and cheese. For the Shredded Beef Taco Salad, I opted for extra meat, cheese, lettuce, and refried bean. Neither food items were exceptionally good ... in my opinion. They both were soggy and tasted almost exactly the same. The taco salad had the consistency of mashed potatoes. During our team summit we decided to lunch at a local place in Roseville. Found Rudy's as they serve quesabirrias and the boss was craving them. A soon as you walk in your are warmly welcomed. The location has some authentic Mexican decor. The menu is located as soon as you walk in. You are to order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. The cashier was very helpful when it came to ordering and recommending a dish. I opted for the tortilla soup and two quesabirrias. I ordered the medium soup and boy the portion is pretty big. I could have done with just that. There have a little salsa and tortilla chips bar where you can serve yourself as little or as lot of chips and salsa. I didn't get to try it them as I will sometimes get full just off the chips. The cashier was nice enough to allow me to use my water bottle and fill it up with their ice and water. I really appreciated that as I am not a soda fan. My team really enjoyed their meal. My quesabirrias were off the hook!! The soup did not have much flavor to it. I ended up over flowing it with onions, cilantro and hot sauce to get some flavor to it. I really wanted to enjoy my soup but the simple taste of the soup threw it off for me. Next time I will try the burritos. Some of my peers ordered those and they really enjoyed them. read more

What happened to this place?? Just ordered burritos and quesadilla today and the carne asada burrito was mediocre at best. Lacked flavor, lacked guac (which I paid for). Entire bottom of burrito was all tortilla and tortilla was cold and tasted old. Quesadilla was overly greasy, guac was brown in color and missing the sour cream I ordered. We may need to find a new favorite Mexican spot. read more
