Couldn't recommend this place more. $50 no coupon for my 2016 Prius smog check, that beats a lot of other places that want $67 or higher. I appreciate the workers here, they answered the phone right away, gave me precise information in a prompt and respectful manner, and as a woman I feel very safe on multiple levels coming here. Hard to find a decent service these days, but I am happy to report that this is a legit option. It will for sure be my goto from now on. Not sure if it's because of the change in location but that price is significantly higher than anywhere else in the area. Opted to go elsewhere and spent less than $50. I was helped by Sam, he was very nice. I called the day before as I had seen them advertising a special. I was told to come first thing the next day at 9 am and I would be taken care of. Showed up at 9:06 (Saturday morning) there was already someone getting their car tested. I checked in with Sam and I was next in line. I was done within 20 minutes. It was a breeze. Sam also took care of the DMV records since I had already paid for my registration. I will definitely be back here for my smog test and future DMV needs. Everything was clean. Easy. Great prices. I do wish the extra fees listed on the groupon page were more transparent so I knew what my total would be upfront (they listed the $8.25 for certificate and $4.75 for electronic fee, but not the extra fees for a "star test" which somehow came out to $20 total in addition to the groupon price), but to be honest for the convenience and ease I'd pay that again regardless. Jack is one of the most honest, hardworking, and genuinely kind people you'll ever meet. His integrity is unmatched. A few years ago, when my last car was on its last legs, he could have easily taken my money to keep repairing it. Instead, he told me it wasn't worth it and that if I were his own daughter, he'd tell me to sell it and move on. That conversation alone speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. As a woman, it can be intimidating trying to find a mechanic who doesn't talk down to you, overcharge you, or leave you out of the conversation. Jack has never made me feel that way. He takes the time to explain what's going on, answers every question with patience, and always recommends what's best for me, not what's best for his bottom line. Honest mechanics are hard to find, and Jack is the real deal. His son Michael is following right in his footsteps. He's incredibly kind, thoughtful, and truly understands what customer service means. When my car was totaled in an accident and towed to their shop, Michael stayed after closing to make sure the tow truck arrived safely and that I had a ride home. He absolutely didn't have to do that, but he did anyway. You simply can't teach that kind of integrity and compassion. If you're looking for a mechanic you can trust completely, Jack and Michael are it. I recommend them to everyone I know.
