On Monday, the very next day, I decided to cancel after finding a better option. I made multiple attempts to cancel beforehand -- I called the store, was redirected to customer service, spoke to Bill, who told me he was off today and was told I had to speak to my salesperson, who I couldn't reach as well. Since I couldn't get help over the phone, I drove to the Norridge store in person (closer to me). At that point, I was told it was "too late" because the chairs were already on a delivery truck -- nearly 48 hours before the scheduled delivery. I was also told I would be charged a $100 delivery fee for items I never received. Customer service representative named Nate (no last name given) was completely unhelpful and inflexible, repeating policy without any effort to resolve the situation or acknowledge the circumstances. Was very dismissive and didn't acknowledge the situation at all. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my bank to initiate a dispute -- the manager in training (forgot his name) in the Norridge store was finally able to cancel the order without the fee. This proves the situation could have been handled properly from the start. After over an hour of frustration -- including calling my financing provider to initiate a dispute -- an assistant manager in the store was able to fully cancel the order without penalty. This review would have been one star, but I'm giving an extra star solely because of that effort, even though they still agreed with the policy itself. The lack of communication, rigid policies, and unwillingness to assist customers is unacceptable. I will not be shopping here again and would strongly caution others before making a purchase.

I did some online browsing before coming into the store to see what they have; they have a plethora of options at such affordable prices. They didn't have as much in store as they did online but you're able to place your order online at the store. There's also a large downstairs with additional furniture like beds, couches, coffee tables, etc. We found easy parking right in front of the store, as well. We were helped by Daisy who was very personable and helpful. After finding a couch, we sat down together and she went through the pricing with taxes and delivery. Everything was very upfront and she made the process quick and seamless. Our bed was delivered to our second floor apartment (they called me prior to arrange a time) literally two days later! The 2 gentlemen were nice and made carrying a couch look very easy! We've been obsessed with our new couch ever since. If you want quality furniture for a good price, I definitely recommend Furniture Avenue!

Let me say this- Luxilon has a great selection of in stock sofas and chairs (among other furniture), and they do custom orders as well. I was just overwhelmed and needed to take a break and re-assess what I truly want and need before bothering them again. We saw so many great items, we ended up purchasing a small, inexpensive accent table which was a great price and very well made. It was an item we didn't even intend on buying, but it was a great deal and a very unusual and practical piece that will fit under my existing chair AND sofa allowing me to eat a meal/use a computer/write a letter, etc... When I received the mattress and box spring, the box spring was much lower than I wanted and even worse, it was dirty, ripped and looked used. When I called the store and spoke the the sales man he said all sales were final. Well, here I am 7 months later and my mattress has completely collapsed in the middle. I weigh 140 pounds and sometimes my son sleeps with me (30 pounds). Nobody else has slept in the bed! So either they sold me a used set ($600) or their quality is horrible! I I don't even want to deal with the awful sales man again, so now I will have to go to Costco to buy a new, quality mattress with a great guarantee. Mid-America used to be good, maybe they're under newer ownership. There was a very nice woman that's owned it... I didn't see her... I just know that the man I dealt with is awful and condescending and I'm soooooo disappointed in the items I received. I don't have a lot of money so I hate that I have to buy a new mattresS because of the horrible quality this store sold me (or again... I suspect I was sent a used one since the box spring was dirty and ripped). Buyer beware. There was only one item we could not find, a standup desk. We decided to check out one more place before making the final decision. Unfortunately, we found all the items we needed at that last location we visited. A stand up desk was a non-negotiable for us, which Bob's did not offer. The business is clean, restrooms are well kept. They offer refreshments and snacks. I thought that was very nice. The water was very appreciated after walking back and forth.
