Manhattan clam chowder was the chowder of the day and it was okay, a bit watery. My fiancé doesn't eat fish and he enjoyed his rack of ribs. There are other non fish options as well. I know this place is new, but the problem is not growing pains...it's just poor quality. The best part about out visit was the view of the bay, albeit through a filthy window. We were a party of 4 on a Saturday night, celebrating my best friend's birthday. We started out with what was the worst mojito we've ever had. We ordered a pitcher, and upon first sip, we realized something was terribly awry. It was bitter as hell. Like licking an orange rind kind of bitter. Our server confirmed that they actually put bitters in their mojitos. What? We sent the (warm) pitcher of mojito back (zero ice in it) and our server removed it from our tab. I have NEVER, ever sent a drink back, ANYWHERE. I would have deemed that as being "alcohol abuse", but drinking that nasty-ass mojito would have been abusive to my taste buds! The oysters were fishy, and the overcooked calamari had so much glaze on it (balsamic? motor oil?) that it was drowning. Three of us ordered the snow crabs (water-logged and "bendy") and my friend's husband ordered the ribs. He said the ribs were good, but he changed his tune when it revisited him a few hours later via barfing profusely. I mentioned on Open Table that we were celebrating a birthday (they asked) bur there was no mention of the occasion by the restaurant. A dessert there would have likely been underwhelming and not worth the calories anyway. I must say that our server was lovely and seemed to know that this place is a sinking ship. I will have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at our dining experience @ Rum Point Crab House. While visiting Harrahs on a prior date we pondered the menu and decided that on the next trip to give it a try. This is actually a late review but better later then never right ? Our first trip here on August 26th was absolutely amazing as we dined on unlimited snow crabs ... pretty good I will say .. but the biscuits... shesshhhh I wanted more and more .. the soup was amazing as well .. corn was steamed just right and the fries were not over cooked .. not bad price per person either for the feast. Our server Idalys was absolutely an amazing gem! She is very courteous, professional and made sure that we wanted for nothing as she even suggested options during our dining experience in ordering . The rum punch was delicious and best when you order it by the pitcher than the glass , if you're drinking for two or more. Trust me .. while I don't promote alcohol..: for those of us who enjoy .. it's worth it. Our second order of crabs came out at fresh as the first and we were pretty much full at this point I had forgot that we had the crab dip too for an appetizer, which was delicious . We continued to enjoy , laugh .. soaked up the tunes inside and continued to be checked on by our server Idalys. As the night came to a closing we asked to speak to a Manager and assured our server that it was all positive even though she thought something was wrong. We were promptly greeted by the Manger CeCe who was just as professional and amazing. We informed her and thanked her for an amazing dining experience and could not have asked for a better server letting her know how much of an asset we think Idalys is to Rum Point. She was very pleased and thanked us for asking to speak to her. Sooooo fast forward to August 29th on a return get away a few days later but of course we return for dinner and had the same great experience and service provided the first time if not better. And what do you know .. that's right , we requested seating for our now favorite server as she was so happy to see us return. I or we do not work for or are getting any paid incentive for this restaurant I assure you. I'm a happy Yelper and so enjoy a great dining experience that I wanted to share with you. Service was excellent. Personable and knowledgeable of the menu. I enjoyed the onion ring stack salad. It was about 8 onions rings over an arugula bed. Fried flounder and shrimp were also expertly fried, lightly seasoned and breaded. Nice size fish and shrimp. The reason for the four star: 8.50 for one ear of corn is too expensive; even if it is casino pricing. Overall customer service was good. I've seen better and or higher level of friendliness from staff. My server that happened to be a bartender did excellent but the hostess did not. We had to sit at the bar because no tables were available to walk ins but it was worth it. My white Sangria and Cape May fish fry with calamari, clams, flounder & shrimp & coleslaw were delicious. Rum Point has amazing food a great atmosphere and the staff is amazing!! I grew up in New Jersey and visited Atlantic City to propose to my girlfriend(now fiancé!). As I made the reservation I put in the notes section how I was going to propose to her before dinner on the beach and if they could do anything special for us it would be greatly appreciated. They. Did. AMAZING!! The hostess walked us back to our table,the corner booth with a beautiful view of the ocean(and sunset which my fiancé loved). They also had champagne with strawberries waiting for us at the table with a beautiful set up. The only downside were a few biting flies that made there way in..hopefully they can do a little better job on that end. But a great experience overall!! I highly recommend this place a a fun and enjoyable dinner date or to take a group too. I didn't eat at this establishment, however I had reservations for a Thursday at 830. My plans were to go for the all you can eat crab legs. I was never informed that the all you can eat was until 8pm. There is no where on there website that's states it's up to a certain time. To me that sounds like some false advertisement. How, I found out was I called to confirm my reservation. All I said to the hostess was do you still have all you can eat crab legs on Thursday she said " unfortunately we are booked for the night" I didn't ask her anything about booking. I asked DO YOU HAVE THE ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS, she yes only until 8pm. My reservations were for 8:30 so I cancelled my reservations. Worst experience I have had in restaurant in many years went out with friends Saturday night October 30. I have had a better food at ponderosa steak house and red lobster. Service was non existent. But the food was just so poorly done. When asked to cook my steak medium rare. The server cam back and told us the cook. I will not use the word chef said he can only do well done or medium When asked about the crab and how it was served. Could not even explain that the side order was half a crab. I understand it's a new place and it takes a little while to get up to speed, but we had an especially negative experience. The food is VERY expensive for the quality, and the odor of seafood in the air was offensive. The drinks were mediocre. Both of my friends ordered fried shrimp and had to send it back for being undercooked. After being subbed out for a burger, the chop meat quality was questionable and was not eaten. Went there for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Reviews online were not favorable but left an open mind and I'm glad I did. We had Selena. She was fabulous and made it a great experience. It's ok, the portion are good but I'm pretty sure a lot of their seafood is frozen. Clams & Oysters on the half shell are great definitely fresh. This place is never going to make it ! There is a very limited menu with really 3 dinners on it which are all pretty similar the rest of the menu is handheld or apps. It's very disappointing. Our appetizer came out with the meal, the wait staff has little to no knowledge about items on the menu and the service was just fair at best.
