Great views and even better tacos! The fish taco ($4.5) is out of this world and the seared ahi tuna ($13) is incredibly fresh and a great dish for sharing. My only complaint was that my grilled artichokes came out extremely burnt, but I told the waitress and she fixed it immediately and with a smile :). I definitely recommend going during the week to avoid large crowds. Free valet parking is a big plus! read more

Was very happy with this lively establishment with the occassional boat pulling up for a bite and beverage. Service started a bit too slow, but warmed right up. Menu and food was full of delicious offerings. My only complaint was a disregard for keeping us informed of our tab (drink pricing). We were apalled at the price for simple mixed drinks (rock pours) though probably should have known better due to the location. Had we known, we could have avoided a nearly $200 bill for two people. At these price, we won't consider Rumba in our future dining adventures. read more

We came without a reservation on a weekday and were seated relatively quickly. Ordered the plantains, house veggie burger, guac/cheese dip, and tuna burger. Everything was delicious and portions were large. The food tasted very fresh. Servers were really friendly. One of the best veggie burgers I've ever eaten. Just went for brunch. Made a 1:00 reservation but it wasn't busy so they took us early . Staff absolutely friendly and super helpful. We didn't wait long for food or drinks . Food was amazing . Fiancé loved the mimosas . Love the vibe here and food . Definitely coming back !! read more

POOR SERVICE! The waitress served both bar and restaurant. We also noticed that more people were at the bar. According to a small flyer on our table, just about everything we ordered was half price, a happy hour promotion. The waitress decided to tell us after giving us a full priced bill that we were not given a discount because we didn't sit at the bar. She only said this -with a smile -when i asked why we weren't discounted. Evidently, I WAS SUPPOSED TO KNOW..... Not only lazy service, also insulting. We came for lunch on Sunday and were lucky enough to not have to wait for a table. The blond hostess not very friendly, didn't even say hello she just asked how many and directed us to the table. Even though the wait staff was very busy, our waitress came right away with a huge smile and took our drink orders immediately. The crew made sure our table remain clean and clear for our next course. We were a party of 6 and none of us had a single complaint about food, drinks or service. The valets were friendly and fast. The place is very nicely decorated right on the water, you can even enjoy a complimentary boat ride from Rumba to their sister restaurant. Highly recommend. We will definitely come back. David, we had the tuna, crab cake and Dominicans ribs from the appetizer menu as entrees since we notice the generous portions of the entrees. We also had the guacamole with the delicious cheese and peppers . shrimp burger, chicken, steak and pork tacos, fish and chips from the kids menu and also cheese burger . I returned to Rumba with a party of 10 for a weekday reservation at 5 pm on a perfect day. It was much improved from last year as we were able to sit immediately outside and had a great dinner. Appetizers of wings and dip were better than average and the tacos were still very good with a lot of variety. Everyone was happy with their meal and the server was very pleasant. I am changing my review, not because of the food, because of the service. Two call backs today (Wed) for a few trays of food on Saturday afternoon and they claim they cannot do it. This is the THIRD time I was turned down for an order since June even with a week+ call in advance. Turning down a local who enjoys going there constantly really sucks. I won't be anymore. Good luck with your support on the off season. Do your customers a favor, STOP offering catering. What a disappointment this place is. read more

Visited on the last day of restaurant week for long Island. Atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. Waitress was timely and courteous. But most importantly the food was banging! Duck empanadas and Dominican ribs were worth the drive. My rib eye steak was perfectly made medium deff a spot on my favs list now. I was told during the summer this place gets super packed so try it in the off season. read more

Artichoke was perfect, the rum punch was smooth with a nice buzz good thing my wife had the other half. Diver scallops with coconut risotto, mango and papaya were good when we added lemon, out of the park. I see why they give this restaurant 4.5 stars. Servers were on point. They have to watch the mixed greens as a few had black ends. Bus boys should lighten up on taking your plates while still eating. Loved it over all. read more

The Duck Empanadas were amazing a bit pricey tho for an appetizer that small that is expected to be shared...everyone goes crazy over the rum punch but i have definitely had better it was strong tho so if you're looking to get drunk look no further i hated my jerk chicken entree the chicken was decent but everything else with it tasted weird with it my gf loved her entree the mahi with the shrimp tho but the place was really noisy and cluttered people standing over my back and next to me while i eat i would probably go with the guys sometimes but never for a romantic evening or for a date read more

My family and I came here for a birthday. I love the vibe. The website says "island inspired" and it surely lives up to that. We sat outside, within sight of the water and the locals enjoying their fancy boats and jet skis. The staff was friendly expect for one bartender who seemingly threw my money at me when giving change for a to-go order I made. It could have been an accident because he was in a rush to get his drink orders out, but that still isn't much of an excuse. I ordered the jerk chicken and coconut risotto. It was delicious! The risotto was creamy and it left a great first impression seeing as I'd never had risotto before then. The jerk chicken was full of flavor, but after a while, it became too spicy for me to finish. My favorite dish was the fish tacos. They were simply amazing. I had them as an appetizer and then I ordered two more to take home with me. They didn't make it very far, however, because I couldn't resist devouring them once I got in the car. We also took the boat from the dock of Rumba to their sister restaurant, Cowfish. We didn't eat there, but instead enjoyed the view and breezes from the water. Very relaxing and beautiful. Lovely experience. read more

I came for lunch for the first time on a Sunday. Started off great from the valet parking. To fast seating right to drinks. The rum punch was fantastic and sneaked up on me halfway. The ribs were juicy, flavorful and falling off the bone. Followed by having two tacos, the pulled rib and skirt steak. Both were very tasty and different left me wanting more. The waitress, Stephanie, was very friendly and attentive. My only complaint was the meat was not hot enough for me. I like to see my food steaming. Have to say, I'm delighted the manager responded to my review. Usually they only take time to argue the bad ones so I'm glad someone took notice of a good one. Returned to rumba/cowfish on June 25th for my birthday. Took the day off work and that's where I wanted to go. I ate at cowfish, food was excellent, and then took the shuttle over to rumba for drinks. It was a beautiful day, a great experience, and I am looking forward to heading back there with friends and family as soon as possible. Absolutely no complaints, which is probably a first for me ;) I almost don't want to tell people about this place, but I can't keep it a secret. read more

So, just went with the family to eat dinner. Monday night 6:30pm, thought we could get seated with a minimal wait. ~1 hour turned into over 90 minutes. Lesson learned don't come here without a reservation if it is after 5pm. The time went a little quicker with the help of the view of the bay and a couple of cold drinks; when we finally headed back inside I realized that we could have potentially ordered some food to eat dock side (saw a "take out" container in the dish bussing bin out there) which would have been a smart move considering how long a wait things turned out to be. Once seated our server Alexis A. was great!; she expedited our kids (5 and 8) order (child's menu steaks) and our dishes (Salmon, a couple of tacos (fish and pork) and Dominican Ribs) came out quickly as well. Kids really liked the steak and fries; my wife enjoyed the Salmon, which came with risotto and corn on the cob. She also really liked the fish taco but found the pork to be dry. My Dominican ribs with sweet potatoes was delicious; the meat was falling off the bones and my eight year old daughter said the sweet potatoes tasted like candy (in a good way) they were so yummy. Thank goodness for the overflow parking lot and the convenient Rumbus to get us back to our car in 2 minutes. Would come again in a heartbeat but not without a reservation. read more

THE BEST ISLAND CUISINE right in your own neighborhood. Rumba is the best hot spot with immeasurable food quality and quantity. We were away for a mini vacation and visited Rumba several times. Craig, the manager, is amazing. He's hands on all day and I've never seen him take a break. I love to see management chip in and that's exactly what he did. He's great with his staff and especially his patrons. We could not be more PLEASED! Please eat, visit, take in the wonderful water view. You'll be happy you went! read more
