Much of the value of this establishment is its peaceful and lovely setting and atmosphere. However the fresh caught big-eye tuna was excellent as was the horseradish infused mashed potato. The portion was substantial, so I didn't mind the high $$$. The service was also excellent. My only slight complaint was paying $8-9 for an iced coffee. It was excellent but even an expensive restaurant 8 bucks for coffee is a bit extreme! Highly recommended --- even if it it quite a bit off the beaten path. read more

Food was very fresh. With some different varieties of fish offered. The Bloody Mary was excellent. It was a busy day and after we had finally decided on dessert they had to come back and tell us they were out of a couple of desserts we had chosen. They offered some ice cream sundae options as substitute. Breann was our waitress and attentive without hovering. A very nice meal. The food here is incredible. Everything is super fresh, especially the fish -- you can really taste the quality. I had the Oreganata and it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I also had the crudo and it was light and beautifully plated. You can tell they care about their ingredients and where they come from. The vibe is just as good as the food. The space is cozy, stylish, and super inviting. It feels intimate without being too quiet, and the staff is so warm and welcoming. Great place for a date night or a relaxed dinner with friends. Just went for the second time last night and even with the weather being really gross and gray - the vibe and view were amazing. (The first time I went, my friend and I sat on the deck and it was so gorgeous out) The live musician last night was incredible! I got the pasta with zucchini (can't remember the actual name of it) and oh. my. gosh. The SAUCE was unreal. Stopped in on a Saturday night to watch some hockey grab some wings have some sushi and the Minnow at the Galley-Ho did not disappoint. Sushi appetizer was amazing. With delicious however it's a very small portion. I think there was maybe six wings. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. Staff was attentive. We tried this place twice and really wanted to like it because it is directly across the water from us and docking our boat there is a breeze. I don't think we will be back. The waterfront views are worth 5 stars, but the food is mediocre and overpriced. The splash of grapefruit in my tequila and soda seemed to be that syrupy Ocean Spray grapefruit sold in vending machines. (To be fair, the server warned me in advance it wasn't fresh grapefruit. I didn't realize how un-fresh it would be!) The grilled oysters were presented nicely on a bed of pebbles but totally uninspired- just a dusting of plain breadcrumbs on a few small oysters. My tile fish almondine was not good and the crust on it thick and chewy. I left half. My fish came with just a few sliced cucumbers and pickled onions. Very cool spot. Definitely has a Hamptons feel and price tag to match but the food and service do live up to the cost. The seafood is incredibly fresh. The views are gorgeous and it has a local cozy vibe. The crudo, baked oysters and ratatouille were delicious and even my son's chicken fingers (really more of a chicken cutlet Milanese style - which we much prefer) were so yummy. Only downside is prices are high and portions are small which is to be expected for the area. But the quality of food, drinks and ambiance in my opinion are worth it. If you're looking for a big meal on a budget it's not your place but for fine dining in a casual setting this place can't be beat! read more

Minnow at the Galley Ho markets itself as a high-end, sustainable seafood restaurant--but unfortunately, our recent visit fell far short of expectations. We were a party of four and had high hopes for the evening, but the experience was marked by a series of missteps, starting with the food. While it wasn't cold, it clearly had not been served immediately--lukewarm at best, as if it had been left sitting too long before reaching the table. The appetizer we ordered came with just two small slices of bread--odd given we were a group of four. When we requested more bread, we were charged an additional $5 for two extra slices. At the price point of the menu, this felt less like a charge and more like a missed opportunity for hospitality. We ordered a side of fries which resembled fast food fries in both taste and texture--only these were cold. The wine service was similarly disappointing. We ordered a bottle of white, and 15 minutes later, the server informed us it wasn't chilled. Rather than solving the issue, she asked whether we'd still like to have it warm. This felt amateurish, especially for a restaurant charging premium prices. Seating was also a head-scratcher. Despite many open tables in the main outdoor area, we were placed under a loud kitchen vent. This choice made no sense and contributed to an uncomfortable dining atmosphere. The service further unraveled when it came time to split the check. We requested it be split into three specific portions, but were told it could only be split evenly across the three cards. Later, one member of our group noticed their card was charged significantly more than their share--while another paid under one-third. On a cooler evening, we also asked for blankets, but were told they had run out after distributing only five to other tables. Again, this might be understandable at a packed venue, but not when many tables were empty. In short, Minnow at the Galley Ho seems to want to play in the fine-dining league, but the execution--both in food and service still needs fine tuning.. When a restaurant charges high-end prices, it needs to deliver more than just a sustainable seafood label. Sadly, the inconsistencies and lack of attention to guest experience left a bad taste. We won't be returning any time soon. read more

We had lunch with another couple on a weekend. clients were sparse and the ambiance was very nice. The food was good but certainly not exceptional, as were the drinks. Servers had little to do with the low attendance and either needlessly hovered or kidded around with each other in the dining area. They did not deliver food, only drinks. Sandwiches were uncut and when asked to have them cut, a knife was offered instead of returning to the kitchen to actually complete what never should have reached the table. For what (IMO) was a mediocre lunch, the bill totaled more than 60% more than what I would normally pay for for a very good meal in similar ambiance with fine service. In short, if you wish to overpay for an average meal (even the raw fish was cut wrong) but have a nice view, this is your place. read more

I had the best meal of the summer last Saturday evening at Minnow. Andrea has created a gorgeous restaurant along the water - we were able to dock the boat and walk up. Everything was perfection from the line caught yellowtail, bluefish pate and mouth watering and unique linguine with crudo. The service was excellent and the menu unique to the Hamptons. The setting is gorgeous but not Hamptons-stuffy. Cornhole competitors, kids and dogs mingled in the yard. The interior is sophisticated, curated and incredibly welcoming. Don't miss it! read more

I will start off with the positives. They were very accommodating, and the food was very tasty, fresh and prepared and presented well. Now for the negatives. I got a Bloody Mary. It was set on the table literally overflowing - the whole side of my glass was covered. I had to wipe it off. Also the straw it comes with? The straw is so tiny I could not drink it. I ended up drinking as much as i could and ended up ordering another drink because I just couldn't struggle with the Bloody Mary anymore. As they mention on their menu, they serve food as is finished. Which, of course. But, our table was so small it could not fit all of our food, so the server brought back half of our food to let it sit in the kitchen. I give three stars because the food was that good - however, there's a decent amount of front of the house stuff that needs to be worked on. I wish I felt inclined to take more pictures of the food, but the multiple tiny negatives of the service part made me so sad that I only thought to take a picture of the Bloody Mary straw. read more

We had a reservation for 8 pm and were seated by 8:10. Waiter took our drink order by 8:15 and said he would come back and get food order when he brought our drinks. We ordered a beer and a small bottle of sake. It was sushi night (there was no sushi on menu btw). Drinks did not come quickly even though nothing had to be made - and instead our waiter reappeared at 8:45 so say that he couldn't find the sake we wanted so he wanted to comp us two martinis that also never came. At 9:15 we got the beer and then mysteriously the lost bottle of sake appeared - without glasses to drink it with. Now the food - we ordered a cucumber salad, two orders of the crispy rice appetizer because it came with two pieces each and we were three people. And a poke bowl and appetizer dumplings. The salad came first - it was good. We were starving. Next came one of the two crispy rice appetizers we ordered with no explanation as to where the other one was. One piece of crispy rice was plump with tuna the other was skimpy. We would find out after that they ran out of food and that's why the second one of those appetizers never arrived. The rest came sporadically and we had to ask. The wait staff felt bad but apparently the kitchen had run out of food and we were lucky to get what we did. We left starving and feeling very unsatisfied. It was a terrible experience overall and the dregs of the food we did get - did not make up for it at all. read more
