This place is a 'scene' that happens to be a restaurant. Food was tasty. Drinks were good. But it's way too popular - on site valet parking only and a shuttle bus to another parking lot. And reservations are useless because even though I arrived in time for a 6:30 reservation, they refused to seat me until the entire party arrived. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes for a table. Knowing that we were coming made no difference to them. If you are into serious dining, 'forget about it'. This place is a glorified bar. read more

The Only redeeming quality was the food and drink. It was the most atrocious display of customer service I've experienced since being in the Hamptons. We were originally told it would be a 20 minute wait. I understand that is an estimate and can vary. We were seated 56 minutes later. Already, our party was a bit sour on the experience. We quickly order with food and drinks. When the food comes, 2 of the 3 meals were missing items. During our entire time at the establishment, never once did the GM come by to apologize for the gross underestimate of wait time or to even see how the meal was going. I'm not naive enough to believe I am more important than any other patron. Nor did I want any form of discount for the meal. I felt the situation could have been rectified through simple acknowledgement of leadership presence. Huge fail on the GM. Too many good places for this place to be on your list of places to go. read more

What a great place for dinner! First time there last night - the parking lot close to the restaurant was full and we parked at the furthest lot - lucky for us because the boat ride to the restaurant's back door is just BEAUTIFUL! Lunch at Rumba today was fab! Jessica was our waitress. She was very attentive and always had a great big smile on her face. She was able to discuss the menu and had some really good food suggestions. You have to try the Key Lime Martini, mmm mm mm. The food was super tasty. I had the duck empanadas, jerk taco, and the fish taco. All were very flavorful and nicely presented. The atmosphere was part party, part relaxing island vacation, loved it! Excellent drinks - I recommend the rum sangria. They have an excellent variety of food with a menu just diverse enough. The salmon is delectable and well priced. They do guacamole of the day, sometimes with odd recipes. Other than that, the food is great. The atmosphere is very lively and fun. We had come here last month while we in the Hamptons. The ambience was great. You felt as though you were on an island. They had live music that night. The band did a few renditions of the some classic Bob Marley songs. They were great! The food only added to the great experience. I had the sticky wings to start off. They were a bit sweet, but offered a very unique and unexpected taste that was a pleasant surprise. Yes, they were good. As an entrée, I had the Jerk Chicken with coconut risotto. It was superb with just the right blend of spices with a risotto that really complimented the dish. My wife and I finished off our meals with the Key Lime pie. The waiter said it was "award-winning" and boy, was he right. It was one the best Key Lime pies I've ever had. The lime was distinctive, but not overwhelming. We had a group of 7. We got seated immediately. As I mentioned, we were here about a month ago, but the tastes and atmosphere still linger in my mind. If you're ever in Hampton Bays, I'd recommend you don't wait. The food here was very good. The Guacamole was delicious. However, the reservation side of things leaves something to be desired - we had a reservation and they were not ready when we got there, then told us to wait at the bar. Half an hour later and still no table and no update, so checked 2 more times and still no table. Then, immediately after they said the table was still not ready, then I get a call on my phone asking if we are there and ready to be seated....when I'm standing right in front of them!! I'm not sure I'd go back other than for a drink at the bar and maybe appetizers at the bar in the future because of this....we didn't have a reservation for nothing! Too bad... read more

I love this place. We have been here many times since being taken here early summer 2011 by friends. It is our family's favorite summer place. Ribs are outstanding as are the tacos and the coconut risotto. We've tried almost everything on the menu and haven't had a "weak" dish. Service is excellent and the ambiance is fun. I've been coming here ever since they first opened and they are just awesome. Great specialty drinks, even better food. One of the best places to eat out in the Hamptons in my opinion. Their ribs are the absolute best ribs I've ever had. They must cook them for a slow and long cook ahead of time because even the bone becomes soft enough to eat. The duck empanadas are so good too. Any of their dishes with tuna are great and their various tacos are great. They have quite a good selection on their menu. Overall an A+ place. The only downside is if you don't book dinner reservations in advance for the weekend, then be prepared to wait because they get quite busy. Even so, they're pretty good at expediting the wait. Once I had a party of 5 with no reservations, showed up at 7pm on a Saturday, they were crowded as usual. The hostess told us about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half wait. We decided to wait (we really love the food that much) and to our surprise they had us seated in 45 minutes actually. read more

What a wonderful place! Not only is it a great spot on the water but the customer service makes it! Came here for with a large group (15) and they were able to accommodate us for a reservation in advance. The manager even called up to see if we wanted to eat inside the "Bus" which is an old school renovated seating area! What fun. Love this little hidden gem on the water. I had the ribs for appetizer. They literally fell off the none -delish. We had every variation taco they were really good. I had the shrimp sandwich and my little guy had the jammin chicken. Everything was good!!! Service was quick and they were friendly and attentive. Excellent food and drinks. Great outdoor beachy ambiance, on thebwater. The Dominican ribs are excellent. Favorite drink was their Pina colada - it is on the rocks made with rum and fruit juices as opposed to a Pina colada mix, so it's completely different than the frozen drinks you get at every other beach bar. read more

This was delicious! Food was outstanding- we had the Dominican ribs as an appetizer and it was amazing, smokey & sweet flavor. The sugar cane soy salmon with coconut risotto is one of the best meals I've ever had. A nice rich unexpected combination. Service was great, even though we were there labor day weekend after 9pm where you have obnoxious drunks everywhere in the Hamptons. Our waitress kept apologizing and checking in on us, but the food was worth the loud environment. I will probably go earlier next time and enjoy the view since it is on the water. read more
