I was really excited to take my first Rumble class having taken kickboxing and martial arts classes before. However, this class was such a let down! The instructor doesn't actually do the workout with you!! At the beginning of the class, you're taught 6 basic punches associated with numbers. The numbers are then projected to the front of the class. Your expected to just watch the numbers and do the corresponding punches. In my opinion, the whole point of a class is to watch an instructor do the routine and match your pace/form to his/hers. The instructor did not bother to check anyone's form or walk around. They just barked out the new numbers on the screen. (1,2 Speed! ; 5,6 Power). Someone sign me up to be a Rumble instructor. Also, fyi, there isn't any kicking. This is purely a punching / weights class. Finally, this class was super crowded. Very similar to a SoulCycle where you're practically on top of one another in a dark loud room. But if that's your vibe, maybe Rumble is for you. PROS - Very clean. Nice staff. read more

As a female, we're often told to be nice, don't be aggressive... Don't get too angry. However, I love coming here on the weekends because I am given the freedom to work out in a dark room and punch the stress away from life. It's so therapeutic on a Sunday, thinking about all the traffic jams, work issues blahblah - to just punch something in a dark room. It's not pure boxing, even though Rumble inspires me to learn more; but it's great for what it is- which is circuit training mixed with boxing. They have the best music and the weight benches are easy to use. Your heart rate is constantly up. Most of all, the instructors are so fun and charismatic. I took Brian Kahn and Dillan Ostrom's classes and had so much fun every time. I'm sure all of the other instructors are fantastic as well. They do a wonderful job training their teachers. Overall - if you're a fitness newbie, maybe it's better to go somewhere more well lit so that you are getting your form correct. I try to always book a bag near the front where I can see myself in the mirror because I am obsessed with form. However, I know I'll keep coming back to Rumble for the party vibe, the best remixes, and to grow myself into more of a badass who isn't afraid to be aggressive and stand up for what I need from this world. read more

This place is beyond amazing. First of all, it's beautifully designed inside. Every detail is taken care of and is top of the line. Beautiful locker rooms, great products and it's immaculate. The staff is extremely friendly and enthusiastic. Now onto the workout..... The vibe is sort of Barrys Bootcamp meets Flywheel. The room is dark with sexy lighting that everyone looks good in, and the music/sounds system is top quality so it sort of feels like a nightclub in there. The workout mixes punches on the water bag with HIIT type movements on the floor and you go for 10 rounds. The one thing that I thought differentiated it from say Barrys is that at Barrys it can be brutal and extremely intimidating for a beginner but not here. You can jump in at any fitness level and kill it accordingly. I took my first class with Brian who was extremely motivating, tough and yet somehow kind?? Long story short, TRY IT. I'm from San Francisco, and my friends in NYC gush about Rumble. We've been waiting with bated breath for over a year for Rumble to open in our neck of the woods, so I was thrilled when I saw the WeHo location open before SF! I've done a couple of boxing classes before, but Rumble was one of the best I've taken. For those who are thinking about trying it, do it! It's like a blend of SoulCycle and Barry's Bootcamp (coincidentally both down the street). You rotate between floor work (strength + cardio combos) and bag work for 10 rounds. You often punch to the beat of the music in the dark, club-like room. Beginners - no fear. The instructors walk you through the punches at the beginning of class, and everything you're supposed to be doing is projected on the wall. My first class with Kendall T. was phenomenal. Seriously, could not have asked for a better first class. The music was perfect (lots of heavy-beat remixes to familiar pop/hip-hop favs) and her energy was infectious. This is definitely a standard across all Rumble instructors - I took a class with AJ this morning, who was just as upbeat, even at 6 AM. I was very impressed with the layout of everything, as well. Each bench had a little nook underneath, beside your weights, to store your gloves, towels, etc. The locker rooms were spotless, and fully stocked with shower products from Drybar. However, what stood out to me the most was the fact that everything was so CLEAN! Even the glove rentals didn't smell, which literally never happens. Such a great addition to the LA fitness scene. Love rumble! Started coming here after taking my first rumble class in SF. I had 0 experience before attending my first class. I've always taken Kendall's class. She's great for beginners and is very ecstatic, love her! They teach you the 6 punches. It's great cardio with some floor exercises which is great for toning up. 4 stars instead of 5 because parking is $2 and the front desk here is not as welcoming as the rumble in SF. Amenities are clean, just be sure to time yourself if you take a morning class and have work afterwards because the showers get full. read more

Just got done with my first class at Rumble! I loved everything about it! The atmosphere was great, the music was great and our instructor Nick was awesome! I definitely felt motivated to work out! They have really nice equipment with lockers and a full set of supplies. Definitely more of a workout class than a boxing class. With or without the right technique you will still get a great workout! Had a club like setting with a DJ and cool lights. They validate which is awesome! Pains only $2 for parking. Unfortunately the price is way too expensive for me! But with what they offer and the location of the gym I don't expect the place to be any cheaper! Such a great class. I took Rumble at it's very first location when it arrived in NYC and then classes got a bit hard to book for my erratic schedule. Fast fwd to living in LA now and finally getting a Bumble in WeHo. Just one of the best HIIT / boxing workouts around. Like the "Barry's" of boxing. You'll be sure to get your heart rate soaring and feel it the next day. The class FLIES by and I wish it were an hour, actually. I really do like Rumble, especially as a gateway for people to like boxing for fitness - I think they've got a great thing going, their branding is on point, and it's an overall fun vibe. HOWEVER, I recently went to a Sunday morning class where one of the attendees spent half the class taking videos which was super distracting and a bit intrusive in my opinion. I appreciate SoulCycle's policy of no phones in class - people's workouts are often their personal private time and I think it might behoove Rumble to institute a similar policy. Plus, no one really wants to be filmed as they are walking out of a dark room and are likely a hot, sweaty mess, right? The review from Jessica Y. hits the nail on the head - Rumble is for people who want a boxing-based, non-technical workout that has a beautiful studio with great amenities and ambiance. The instructors at Rumble don't do the workout with you, they are there to keep the energy level up much like the DJ at a club (literally, they handle the music and lighting during their class). The teachers that I've taken so far (Brian Kahn, AJ Perez, Nick Lundblad) have been awesome in terms of energy, so 5 stars for those aspects. After coming to Rumble for a little bit I started to check out different boxing studios and realized that I prefer something that gives a more authentic boxing experience, teaching footwork and how to slip/slide/pull back/bob/duck, etc., changing levels, working the technical aspects of throwing punches. I heard about this class and was like why not give it a try. Everyone was really nice and I think most people would love this class. I didn't stay for the whole session because there was just a lot of different stimuli going on; from the loud music, flashing lights, stuff on the screen, trainer talking, the heat; it was just making my ADHD go off the charts and causing a lot of anxiety. This is not their problem, nor am I criticizing them for this. I think for most people this would be a wonderful class, but if you do have ADHD or something going on that a lot of your senses being hit all at once is a bad thing, this class isn't for you. I came here for a Saturday 9.30am class. When I arrived, I signed it with the front desk and they told me my spot number. They explained how the class was going to work (switching between floor and bag). It was packed when I entered the classroom; I believe there were only 3/4 empty spots. I started on the floor. The floor was basically for strength training/cardio. After a few rounds, we switched to the bag where we did the punches. All the moves for the floor and for the bag rounds were up on the screen so if you missed the instructor's explanation, you can definitely refer back to the screen. I recently took Sophia Rose's class at Rumble Boxing and was blown away! Coming from about 10 years worth of muay thai training I didn't know what to expect from my 1st class, but it was a whole new level of energy and intensity! Sophia facilitated the workout with swagger and confidence, keeping the pace that pushed your cardio to the limit regardless of if you were a beginner or a seasoned vet. Besides being an intense workout, the music, presentation, friendly vibe and high quality facility was the perfect place to have fun and let loose! Great format! Loved the "disco-atmosphere": the room is dark - so if you are self conscious that will help you - and the trainer is also a dj. Movements are explained / demonstrated before class starts, and in case you forget..the screen will remind you what to do. Part of the workout is done to the bag (filled with water!), part on the floor - mix of strength &cardio. lntense workout depending on how much you want to put into it, as you can use heavier weights when working on the floor, set your pace when doing timed exercises.. all this for 45 mins. top music selection, engagement, lighting, equipment, cleanliness. Also: equipment - you can rent gloves and buy wraps if needed. Last but not least the instructor was very energetic and well prepared, which is definitely a plus! Okay, so I'm literally obsessed with Rumble. I dont understand complaints about not teaching you more boxing technique-this is a "boxing-inspired" workout. If you want some slow-paced class with someone going over intricate details of how to box, this isnt for you (let's be real, nobody is going to become a legit fighter from those classes anyways so what's the point?). This workout was not as intense as I thought it'd be. I left barely breaking a sweat. The instructor didn't even go around the room to see if everyone's form was correct. FORM IS IMPORTANT! This place is LIT. I'm currently typing through sore arms, but the physical discomfort was and IS worth it. I had my first class last night and have no complaints. From the minute you enter, you're welcomed by an enthusiastic staff. The place is spacious, clean and the locker rooms have TONS of amenities. The class is definitely tough, but you can go at your own pace and find ways to modify some of the sections. I loved that my teacher (Nick) called us out during class, which was a good reminder to stay accountable but also that he saw the work we were putting in. There are screens in class to assistant you in keeping up, which was also helpful as a lot of information is thrown at you. Overall, my only complaint is that they charge by the class. I would love a membership here, but for now, I don't mind paying per class because the workout is GREAT. Big up, Rumble!! read more

When I saw it I thought, "What kind of D-bag calls their boxing gym Rumble?" Thankfully, it's not a boxing gym, it's Soul Cycle for your arms. There is no real boxing equipment and no actual boxing taught. It's just a dark room full of bouncy rubber balls to punch while a DJ's leads and shouts encouragement. I've been taking Rumble for a few months now and I love it. My boyfriend got me into it and he's been going for about a year. It's a great workout that we both love doing together. If you are looking for a real boxing and sparring gym, this is not the place... if you're trying to fight like Mike Tyson - I would suggest Wildcard. But at Rumble they do teach you the basics with combinations on the bag and floor exercises to work your core and full body. It's also nice therapy just to be able to punch a bag for 5 rounds. Rumble is one of the best group workouts in town hands-down. It's a full body workout, with bags on one side and bootcamp on the other side, you switch back and forth. Every time I do it, by the time I'm done, I'm ready to pass out. It is intense, fun, encouraging and a way to get any and all your stress out. It takes a couple of classes with different instructors to identify who's more your vibe (like SoulCycle). I've taken classes with a few of them and I'd highly recommend Nicky Hustle (Nick Lundblad) and Kendall Toole. Nick is all about getting the process down and right while really working for it, with great music, a complete body workout - it has a learning curve. Kendall has the most fun and intense classes, I look like I jumped out of a pool when I leave her class. If you're looking for a hardcore by-the-book boxing or kickboxing training; that's not what rumble is. Rumble is an intense, fun, hardcore group workout. You get out of it what you put into it.
