    Soltani Plate with kooideh

My mom was raving about this place having come here for dinner so I had to try it out. We arrived for a late lunch on the weekend around 2pm and the place was mainly empty except for another family. They had lots of to go orders coming through and the girl at the front was welcoming and friendly. We ordered our food and it came pretty fast but wasn't as fresh as excepted. The rice wasn't the usual buttery flavorful rice you find at Persian food spots but rather just a plain basmati that was dry. The kabobs also didn't taste as fresh but the chicken was good and flavorful. Might be hit or miss at this spot so I would be willing to try it out again. The owner was really sweet with helping my parents find the spot since it's a little hidden when they first went and opened later so 4 stars!

First time trying this place - Menu pictures of plates online where great of course I Ordered takeout for myself and friend of mine This was all that was in the bag. Kindly asked for spicy-sauce and sauces on the side, and utensils when placing the order - saw nothing in the bag once at home. Paid just under $10 for a cup of yogurt Lamb Shashlik Kabob $40 worth Was a bit embarrassed in-front of my guest to say the least.

OMG Why does this not have a strong 5 stars. I have been transformed. I am the entire ocean in one drop!!! Samin Nosrat would approve!!! The Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat (not spicy in this instance, but indicative of warmth) are all here plus Sweet! I died and went to Persian Heaven. The proprietor herself was awesome and separated everything out as we are a Vegetarian / Omnivorous household, that way everyone got to try everything they wanted, excepting the meat for the vegetarians. I really love that they accommodated us in this way. It can be hard sometimes when you're the only person in your family that still shamelessly eats meat. Also they were extremely hospitable and nice. Persian people, I find, tend to be this way, If you're up for an Authentic Persian Treat, check them out!!! We had: Lamb Shishleek, Tender Rack of Lamb chops marinated and cooked to your order. We had Medium Rare. Extremely tender and well seasoned. Lambshank with Baghali Polo, The lambshank itself is tender and falls off the bone, served with a delicious gravy and is amazing with everything else I had on my plate, which was a little bit of everything. The rice itself is flavored with fragrant dill, saffron and Fava Beans. An absolute favorite when done right! Must O Khiar I have had all forms of this from rich and creamy to sharp and tart. Their version is rich and creamy and well balanced. A perfect Compliment to the rest of the meal. Veggie Stew The Veggie Stew is a satisfying mix of Savory lentils and silky melt in your mouth eggplant perfection with just the right amount if seasoning Zershk Polo Rice with Saffron, Barberry and Tumeric. Very Tasty and was a great compliment to the Veggie Stew. Albaloo Polo Rice with Sour Cherries. New to me. I enjoyed this and it was a wonderful complement to the Veggie Kebab Tah Dig with Ghimeh Veggie Tah Dig is a Persian delicacy. It is rice cooked to a crisp in the bottom of the pan. It's almost like its fried, but it isn't. You would have to try it to understand what I am clumsily trying to explain. This was topped with More lentils amd Melt in your mouth eggplant. Very Mild Eggplant. I find that with some eggplant dishes they have a very tanninlike effect on the tongue. This eggplant is very mild, smooth, and creamy in texture. Almost buttery. If you like eggplant, you will want to try theirs. Zeitoon Parvardeh This is essentially green olives marinated in a puréed blend of herbs, pomegranate, and walnuts. I am used to a very tart representation of this dish, but theirs was more sweet-tart. I really enjoyed it, but my kids are partial to tart and sour. I enjoyed their share! ;) Veggie Kebab The Veggie Kebab is very good. Skewered and roasted with herbs are mushrooms, sweet peppers and squash. Cream Puff Pastry puff generously filled with cream and a sugar syrup drizzle. Rollet This is a moist, yet light citrusy cake again filled with a generous amount of cream and sprinkled with cocoa powder. Both deserts are good, but I really enjoyed the meal itself in it's entirety. I can see us frequenting this place as long as we live in the Seattlish area.

We had already started eating when I took this but we had gotten the Koobideh kabob and the Fesenjan stew

I had never tried Persian food before as far as I remember, but one of my best friends knows it and loves it, and was very excited when we were heading to an Indian restaurant and happened to find Rumi's in the same business park. We both turned our cars around and decided to try this place... Staff was really nice but the food was absolutely delicious!! Will 100% be coming back to this place even though it's almost an hour from where I live.

    Faludeh and Persian Tea

I have had a lot of Persian food in many major cities, I can say with confidence that this restaurant does not disappoint. To be fair, we were the first customers of the day, so service was definitely on point. Everyone who worked there was friendly from start to finish. Our food came out quickly and was very fresh. Sad to see other reviewers saying they felt the kebabs lacked flavor. The beef koobideh was my favorite. I was feeling adventurous and tried the Faludeh for dessert. Had lots of fun flavors and textures. Finished off the meal with Persian tea, absolutely delicious. Cannot wait to come back!

This new restaurant is a little off the beaten path for the typical walkers but right across from Sur La Table with an overall great location. I had the lunch Chicken kabob which was tender, flavorful and a good sized portion. I would order it again. Both dishes ordered were very good and unique. The service was spot on and the restaurant was clean. It's a large space and I hope it takes off. It's great to have something fresh and different in this area.

The center area hosted a huge group with multiple tables pushed together. I have avoided Zeitoon all these years because they are higher cost, not necessarily justifiable since there are lower cost Persian foods or similar Mediterranean restaurants in the area. I finally decided to try them. Our server answered my questions, including his favorites. Two questionable/sketchy things happened: 1. Our server recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, which he said is great with the optional soft-boiled egg. Sounds good. We ordered it. The optional egg is $2, which is not identified on the menu. (See photo) 2. When he recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, we asked him to remove the Mast O Khiar which we initially chose. I said we only want one appetizer. He nodded and said OK. When the Mirza Ghasemi arrived, so did the Mast O Khiar. They put both on the table and immediately left. I flagged the original server to remind him we said to remove it, but a different person showed up instead. He: "You want to cancel this? No problem." and took the yogurt away. I did not order this; it is not me canceling. Minus 0.5 stars from overall rating. The Food: Mirza Ghasemi + egg, $14 +$2 - 2.5 Stars This eggplant dish is the one recommended by our server. We do enjoy eggplant dips, especially warm versions. The optional "soft boiled egg" is not an American version but tiny threads of yellow egg bits mixed within the eggplant mixture. Honestly, we cannot taste the egg. It is borderline a scam. This dish would be 3.5 stars if it was $14 at the menu price, which is already on the high side. A $16 eggplant dish is delusional. Lamb Shishlik Kebab, $36 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Lamb rack marinated and chargrilled (see menu photo) I knew I would not see a rack of lamb on my plate. I got four lamb chops. Meat quality wise, this is excellent. It comes with a ton of basmati rice and a salad with a refreshing light dressing. This is a bit spendy for the quantity of meat, but taste is good. Soltani Shishlik, $42 - 3.5 Stars This is the exact same dish as above except add a skewer of grounded beef kebab. This kebab, and I quote my hubby, is "not that good". Same comment for the rest of the dish. A basket of lavash bread arrived at the table. I believe it came with the Mirza Ghasemi. We have eaten many lavash breads, commonly used as wrap so it is grilled and/or heat-pressed with oil on the surface. These lavash breads are simply warmed. I learned they taste terrible that way. The surface has a sandpaper texture and still taste like sandpaper when eating it. If I paid for this separately, I would be upset.

I have been to Bella Balducci's twice at the time of this review, and would definitely go back. Went around lunchtime for both visits and there was no wait time to get a table each time. Parking for the restaurant is easy - there are plenty of parking spaces in the front of the restaurant as it is located in a small shopping plaza. The dining area is small and cozy, I would say probably 3 middle tables and 6-8 side booths. Service was fast, we got all of our food in 15 minutes. Out of the items on the menu, I'll review the Soltani Platter ($28) which I got multiple times. The platter itself comes with a simple salad with olives and dressing - they do go a little bit heavier on the dressing for my personal preference, but it is tasty and sets up as a nice appetizer for the main entree. The is a sizable platter with minced beef kabob and marinated steak - I would say enough to feed two people comfortably. There is a whole half raw onion, which I haven't seen before, that you use to help cut through the fat and richness of the meats. The meats are very flavorful and tender and super enjoyable to eat. The flatbread they give you with the platter is very thin, but serves as a great vehicle to transport the meat and herbs. The interesting thing is, there is no sauce or dip like tzatziki or baba ganoush to hide behind, so the full glory of the meat is the only thing you will experience. I think that Bella Balducci is refreshing restaurant to experience in the Kirkland area, and that I would totally come back to try the other options on the menu. For the price, quality, and quantity, you can definitely feed multiple people with enough exciting options to try!

Noon Café is a casual family diner offering traditional grilled kababs (aka kebab), appetizers, sandwiches, and pizzas - all Persian/Iranian style. The interior is basic, decorated with photos of Iranian landmarks (I assume). Currently, they have a memorial due to the ongoing war. (Peace to all...) Service is warm and friendly. Be sure to ask questions if the dish names are unfamiliar. The Food: Soltani, $32.99 - 4 Stars Soltani includes one skewer of Koobideh (ground beef) and one skew of Barg (flank steak). Both are well-seasoned with excellent flavor. We ordered the flank steak medium rare, but it was medium with no pink inside. The steak was tolerable, not as tender as it could have be. This dish was served with rice per the menu. After I saw another table has their kabab served with a bread, I asked the server. She said other than rice, there is a choice of Persian bread (flat bread with sesame) and salad. Curious that wasn't in the menu nor did she say it. Not a dealbreaker. Her reply did raise my eyebrow. Zaboon, $16.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Veal tongue, simmered and fried, tomato, pickles, parsley Based on the description, the texture completely threw me off. The meat is mushy to the point of spreadable. The flavor is light with minimum seasoning. I applied hot sauce liberally to the sandwich. Portion size is large. I ate only half. Fries, $6.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside Some pieces aren't crispy enough. Some pieces are too thick such that the inside has the potato gritty texture. The sauce is a house-created flavor. We like the sauce more than we like the fries. The food is closer to 3.5 Stars. I like the family vibe and am rounding up to 4 Stars for the overall rating.

On to the food-- we had the ground chicken skewers (our fav and will order again), the lamb shank (lacking in excitement but nice cut of meat nicely cooked), hummus (pretty good), shabzi salad, and yogurt/spinach dish (zingy and good). We are never fans of the thin dry lavash at these restaurants but that is not a negative since it is traditional. It does make eating the hummus and other appetizers less appealing and we long for something less paper-like. Our water glasses were always filled, plates cleared at perfect times, and dishes came out at decent times. Negatives: sour cherry rice was the worst we've had - giant sweet cherries with a splash of rose water was not good- overly sweet and unpleasant. Dessert- Zoolbia (fried dough with syrup) Our kids ate it because it was sweet but as soon as we walked out of the restaurant they both said it was actually not good and made their tummy hurt- it looked quite old.. maybe left over from weekend. They should just say they are out if it's old. Pros: very clean, professional, good ground chicken kabobs. Overall- we will be back and know what to avoid.
