Local running store -- you know the usual: great service. RWU definitely has awesome helpful but not overbearing employees. What stood out to me? A few things. Adequate supply of clothing brands OTHER than Nike. Lots of Brooks, Asics, Saucony, and Mizuno apparel. As someone who doesn't live and die by the swoosh, it can get really annoying when every local running store feels like all Nike all the time. I was beyond stoked to see more than just a handful of pieces from the aforementioned brands. They also had an adequately stocked clearance section. As someone who hates paying full retail for athletic apparel, seeing a well-stocked clearance section is always a good thing. I also loved seeing store-branded apparel that 1. doesn't have ridiculous-looking logos screen-printed on them and 2. an actual size run of said apparel. I hate going into a running store I like (and want to rep out on the run) but seeing either tech shirts with stupid-looking logos. I also hate going into a running store I like and seeing awesome-looking store-branded apparel and seeing nothing but XXXXXXLs on the rack. They had a store-branded Brooks (YES!) tech T in my size -- for only $13! YES!!!!1! But wait -- there's more! My all-time favorite runner -- Nick Symmonds -- did an in-store appearance here, and his visage and autograph graces their wall. And finally, not only did I score with their clearance rack and picked up a RWU shirt that I will gladly rep when I'm pounding the pavement, they have an NFC unit at their register. Yes, all of us nerds with an iPhone 6 (or Google Wallet) can rock the tap-to-pay here. read more

For some reason I thought this place was going to be huge, but it wasn't. It's quite small, but they carry different tennis shoes than your local Sports Chalet or Footlocker. I also have to agree with everyone - customer service is excellent and the staff know what they're doing. I reviewed this place first on Yelp, then made my decision to come and get a new pair of shoes after running on Sunday and realizing how much my Nikes stink. Each week I run, I have noticed my feet hurt more and more. I've been trying to hold off on buying a new pair (and a month of not having Yogurtland would've helped my pocketbook) however after yesterday's run I could not bear it so I had to get new ones. In training for the LA Marathon (which is only a month and a half away! EEK) I knew I had to get a new pair anyway, so I made my way in. The sales associate was very helpful. He asked me to walk around so he could study how my feet pronate and then I told him how this hurts and that hurts, and he made his final recommendation. It was the first time I visited a store and the sales associate made the decisions on what shoes to bring out, rather than me simply looking at what looks nice. Fantastic! I got a pair of Japanese shoes (can't remember the name) and I got them one size bigger since my feet swell. Plus I've heard horror stories and don't want to lose any toe nails... Another note - I've been only getting Nikes in the past so I could use my ipod + kit with it. I realized all you have to do is tie that little sensor to your shoes somehow. They have little pouches that you attach to your laces, but I think most people could probably do without it. I'm thinking a plastic bag tied to my laces? The return policy is great here... they actually let you test out the shoes within ten days and if you no like, you can return for your money back or exchange! Love it. Seeing that I've been plagued with running injuries on and off throughout the year, the next thing in line to switch up were my shoes. I won't tell you how long it's been since I last replaced my training shoes, because it's pretty embarrassing. No, actually, it's sad... ANYWAY, after doing some research, I chose to hit up Run with Us, which my body is now very appreciated for. Got taken care of immediately (can't remember dude's name), whom fully assessed my situation, including observing my walk/run, and taking measurements of both my width and length of foot. Afterwards, he came back with about six different pairs of shoes for me to try on, and by no means was pushy about getting the more expensive ones, seeing that I came up on a nice pair that happen to be in the clearance section! I was especially excited to have chosen a pair of shoes that didn't blind people from thier radiating colors or make me look like a gay Spiderman. To say the least, I've been loving my new shoes, now that I don't feel like my shins are on fire or my foot is going to break off from my leg. In summary, beyond excellent customer service, very competitive prices, and knowledgeable staff that will make sure you walk (or run) away satisfied. read more

I bought another pair of Asics a few weeks ago and love them! I guess there is something about neon purple shoelaces that makes people notice my feet more hahah. I was helped by a very knowledgeable worker (sorry, I didn't get your name!) who knew exactly what I wanted. I told him that I over-pronate and tend to get blisters. I already knew which pair of shoes I wanted so we took care of that within minutes. As for the blisters, he quickly suggested a couple pair of socks that would help me. I practically jumped for joy when I ran 6 miles in the new socks and didn't get any blisters! As a runner, it has always been quite deflating to cut my long runs short due to stupid blisters. Now, I don't have to worry as much. Run With Us is located off of Lake and have a very small parking lot. You can park on one of the side streets, but be sure to read the signs as there are time limits. What is cool about RWU is that they host weekly fun runs on Mondays. In addition to running 3 or 6 miles, you can hang out afterward and eat free snacks, participate in raffles, and listen to guest speakers who are experts in running. The store is always very neat and they have clearance items towards the front of the store. There is one restroom in the back of the store and two changing stalls on the right side of the store. OH! And did I mention that RWU grooms super fast runners on their team? Whenever I participate in local events, I ALWAYS see a RWU person near the front of the pack running at lightning speed. More often than not, they tend to place in the top 3. read more

If you are in search of a pair of running shoes, Run With Us should definitely be on your list of places to check out. They have a good selection of shoes (seemingly the latest and greatest in running shoes) and usually a very helpful staff. On my most recent visit, however, my salesperson was not very helpful at all. Instead of asking me questions about what I was looking for, I had to suggest different shoes to try on, and kept going back to the shoe display to see what other options there were - practically begging him for information on different styles. I know we all have a bad day and have different personality styles, but I was so wishing I could have any OTHER salesperson (who I'm sure would have been more helpful). The other thing I'm not crazy about is prices are not displayed anywhere I could tell. I had to ask with each shoe that was brought out. They very gladly bring you anything to try and are usually creative in solving your footwear needs and will check to make sure the shoes fit your foot correct and that you are wearing the right size. This did not happen on this visit and I was disappointed with the experience. 3 stars for a solid, local business I will gladly support. If they could be better about pricing transparency (listed vs. having to ask) and more consistent sales staff, I'd be a happier camper.... even still, I'm a customer for life. I inquired about the return policy, when I was being rung up. It's a 10-day grace period - you can break in the shoes and if they don't work, you can bring them in! I don't plan to use it, but I think it's a fantastic policy and a definitely plus to shopping here! Tiny, awkward parking in the back (3, 2-stacked spaces). I've gone here twice now: once for myself and another time for my dad. I really appreciate the patience and thoughtfulness they put behind helping to decide which shoe fits the best. My dad asks a billion questions that I'm able to answer and the salesperson was able to thoroughly answer them all with some change. They brought out about 7 pairs of shoes for my Dad to try on, spending about a good half an hour with us. Run With Us is an amazing resource for all runners in the greater Pasadena area. Each time I've walked in and asked for advice from the staff, I get attentive service and a knowledgeable answer. This isn't just walking into a sports store staffed by whomever. Everyone that works at Run With Us is actually a runner- many, if not all of them, very accomplished athletes at that. They understand the stresses placed on the body by running and which products a runner might want based upon her/his situation and needs. Though I walked into the store just planning on purchasing running socks, a new sports bra, and some gel blocks, I left with a new pair of shoes, and I have to say, I'm very glad I asked the question I did, which prompted me to learn that I should not be experiencing the discomfort that I am in my current shoes. Adrian watched my feet as I walked barefoot through the store and was *extremely* patient as I tried on about ten pairs of shoes until I settled on some new Adidas. He answered all of my questions and even suggested that I ice my injured toe. The shoes I wore that resulted in that injury I purchased at a different, much larger running store after a salesperson recommended them to me. I will be sticking with Rw/U for all future shoe purchases. I learned my lesson. In addition to being a running store, you can also join the Run With Us running club, which holds practices on Tues. & Thurs I believe. Keep in mind, people. Running shoes are NOT about looks. It's all about what is best for your foot and your body while you run. Consequently, I usually end up in a pair that I would NEVER choose based on appearance, but if they keep my toenails from falling off, I'm happy. If you are a runner or are thinking about running for the first time, you owe yourself a visit to this store. You will be very happy you went. *Note: Parking can be tight, so look for spots on the street if you don't want to deal with double parking in the lot behind the store. But even if you are blocking someone, runners tend to be happy people and it's not a big deal. read more

A very Knowledgeable staff! I went in with heel pain resulting from Plantar Fasciitis. Adrian was the first staff member to greet and help me with my concerns. Having dealt with this condition before, I pretty much knew what I needed. Adrian was a great help. He directed me to some orthotic supports that were just what I needed. I also had questions about which running shoes would be best for my condition, again he was very Knowledgeable and helpful. Also note worthy, I had a discount voucher from Groupon. Some places will hassle you if you don't tell them up front that you have a Groupon voucher, not the case here. I would highly recommend Run With Us for your running needs. read more

I really really wanted to like this place. It's a local business, so close to where I live, and has great reviews on yelp. I go in there after a hike Sunday morning and it was already packed with people sitting around trying shoes on their island bench in the middle of the store. Understandably, I just roam the wall of shoes they have displayed to see which I like (looks wise). 5 min later I get an employee asking what I needed. I described to him what exercise I do and then he has me walking around the store to look at my walk pattern/form, stand on one leg, then the next, and finally measure the size of my feet. Goes to the back of the store and pulls out three pairs of running shoes for me to try. He even allowed me to go outside and test the shoes on concrete (as thats where I do most of my running on) and see which feels best. Decided on one and left the store happy. The money saver within me yelled out at me when I got home to check what the prices of the shoes I'd just bought online were being sold. To my surprise I found an exact pair for HALF the price. Half! So I just ordered it online and 3 hours later took it back to the store and returned the pair I had bought from them. No questions asked. Great service, and I would have been ok if the shoes I bought were $20 more than was online, as I'm all about supporting local brick and mortar stores, but the price difference was just too much. read more

I joined a running club and a chiropractor came to give a free evaluation. He basically told me that I had terrible shoes and that if I didn't want to hurt myself I needed new shoes. He suggested Run With Us. I went there and they had a yelp discount (free shirt) and 10% off through the Pasadena App. My fitter was very friendly and was able to predict that I got shin splints since I have ridiculously flat feet. He tried out several pairs and I ended up with a pair of Saucony. I swear to you that it's like my feet are on clouds. I am obsessed with these shoes. Now it's not so terrible to run. While the shoes are expensive, your feet are a worthy investment. My feet don't hurt, my back doesn't hurt anymore and I'm not at risk to hurting myself. read more

10 years ago I bought a pair of New Balance shoes at this delightful shop. The guy sized me up and brought me the PERFECT pair of shoes. So perfect and such great quality in fact, that they lasted these 10 years. *Sidenote, I should add I bought them right before I ran the Santa Anita 5K, and the guy who sold me my shoes won that race. Like, WON it.* So finally it came time to buy a new pair again. Went back. Walked in. Was greeted by an associate who was having a casual side bar conversation about qualifying for the Olympics. I was really impressed with the professionalism and service of the staff at Run With Us. They put all other athletic shoe stores to shame! I came to the store to look for a new pair of running shoes. When a salesperson came over to help me, I told him that I was training for a 5k and needed shoes that would offer more stability for my flat-as-pancakes feet. So he asked me to roll up my pants and walk to the front door and back so he could see how I walk and determine what shoes would perhaps work for me. Then he brought out four pairs of shoes for me to try on. Of the four, I ended up taking a pair of Asics which were the most comfortable for me. I was really happy with my purchase, but even happier that this salesperson took the time to help me find the right shoe. I think he and the staff are all runners too, so he knew what he was talking about. Great staff, great products, great store. I'm so happy to read such awesome reviews for Run with us...the correct title of the store is "Come Run with us", but that's ok, all of the reviewers seem to be talking about the same staff..the staff is not only professional, but sincerely there to help you and guide you with what you need to buy and what is best to buy. "Chapa", my personal favorite, has been extremely kind when assisting me. He answeres all of my questions and has even encouraged me to test some different types of races. They offer Nike, Addidas, Saucony, New Balance, Brooks, Avia, Asics, and Chmp-but for "Runners ONLY". Nothing cute in this store...the shoes are designed for orthodics while running so that you are comfortable with your fit due to your speed and pace, while preventing your feet, leg and knee bones from minimal injury. And they even sell all the goo-gads that I'm a sucker for!!! Toe holds, ear plugs, toe wax, a million types of socks, running gear attire, running gear attire on sale, fuel and food replacements, runners watches, runners glasses-but they don't have that great of selection with women's running bra's...That's ok, though! Everything in the store is top of runners line...any better, is catalog only, ask a sales associate and they can provide one for you. Hate to be one of the few critics, but I had major toe problems after wearing a pair of shoes I bought from here. My first podiatrist thought my pain was an infection and did surgery on it, but a more competent podiatrist determined it was injury from the sneakers, and my dermatologist agreed. I also asked a shoe person at New Balance who agreed that the inlay hitting my toes had caused the injury. The pain went away after a few weeks of not wearing them. I feel like the guy who helped me should have paid closer attention to the fit. They felt fine at first, but the shoes clearly weren't tall enough in the toe box. When I went in a second time about six months after the shoes (and my painful toe surgery), I asked if they could help me find something different without the troublesome inlay that had been hitting my toes and causing terrible pain. The guy that assisted me wasn't particularly helpful or attentive. Aside from the fact that he didn't care that the other shoes had caused me serious injury, he didn't even measure my feet or watch me walk. I tried on six or seven pairs, none of which fit right, and left the store in tears. So, I would not recommend this store for people with any sort of feet problems. I can't say it's totally their fault because I have trouble finding shoes that fit in general; however, none of my previous shoes caused this level of injury. If generic, cheaply made and expensively priced sneakers work for you, they have a great selection of those. If you have wider or sensitive feet and need something more specialized, look elsewhere. read more

Since then, I have come here several more times bringing my friends and family to get their feet examined for the right pair of running/walking shoes. I play soccer, I was co-captain of the track team in high school, running events, and I run towards any business that has food. Okay, you can tell from my profile, I NEVER yelp. (At the time I'm writing this, I have ONE review under my belt). But these guys deserved a review. They are amazing. I recently started running, and I'd been running in crappy shoes not even meant for running. My dad had gotten his shoes here, so he brought me thinking they could find me something. Pierre watched me walk around barefoot, examined my feet, and measured to make sure I would get the right fit. Based on my gait, etc, we though we found the right shoe. It seemed super comfy in the store, and I was really excited. Boy was I wrong. These shoes DESTROYED me. They totally put me out of alignment or something because my knees hurt every time I even put them on. If I tried to run my hips were screaming my back started aching, and the pain in my knees had me in tears. Finally I just gave up. About 25 miles of use into the shoes (which I felt was enough "break in" time if that's what they needed) my dad and I went back to Run with Us. The shoes were used so I didn't think the store would take them back, which was fine, but I knew I needed different shoes, so I brought them with me because I wanted to be able to show them what I DIDN'T like about the ones I had. Pierre remembered fitting me the first time, and we went over the problems I'd had with the shoes. He started bringing me more, and when I didn't like those, he brought out more. (Thanks, Pierre!) I finally found something I liked, and me and my dad went to the register expecting to pay full price. Nope. We got total credit for the 1st pair!!! I couldn't believe that. I mean, wow. I was totally floored. I'm still in disbelief and it's almost a week later. That is some serious customer service. They could have told me they didn't take back used shoes, or not have given me credit for the full price. I'm sure a bigger store would not have taken the shoes. But Run With Us says they'll get you into the proper shoes, and it makes total sense that they took back the old ones. They weren't my proper shoes. Awesome. Additionally, my dad went home, and looked up prices online for both the original pair, and the replacement pair. Roughly the same, so their prices are competitive with online prices...which means you can spend your money here without worrying about paying too much and feel good about supporting a local business. TL;DR Run With Us takes back used shoes at the full price because they didn't fit properly. read more

All the reviews are SPOT ON. . . This store is now my favorite store. . . as far as athletic gear goes. :o) I'm training for a half marathon at the end of August - http://www.lattes.kintera.org/ayami_hiroshige and I went in there because our trainers have been talking about hydration and replenishment of electrolytes. . . I needed a water carrier thingy - Okay. Okay. I know nothing about running, training, and yes. This is definitely my first, but sooo not my last marathon (can you say addictive?!). . . I circle the block twice because I can't for the life of me figure out the parking, but then find it's right behind the store - but really cramped. Follow previous advice and find street parking! Walk into the store, am a little overwhelmed because I'm out of my element, and then out of no where (it seems), a sales person (Adrian, I think) pops out and asks me if I need help. But not in that way that we're all used to. . . the way that people ask, but they really don't care to help. No, he really wanted to help! So we find a water carrier, some electrolytes, ankle braces, and a pair of pants. . . This guy knew his stuff. I give him an A+++ for his knowledge, experience, willingness to help, and enthusiasm! I didn't feel intimidated, and he really seemed excited that I was doing a marathon. As for their selection, they have EVERYTHING. . . or so it seems! Like I said, I was overwhelmed. But I will be back. I want to have them fit me for a pair of shoes, especially since we're starting to go up in mileage. I may have found myself a new addiction, and a store to help me with it. :o) If you run, if you walk, if you work out. . . THIS IS DEFINITELY THE STORE TO GO TO. Five years ago I really needed to take up a healthy hobby and lose some weight. A co-worker suggested that I try running, and I was like "yeah right, my fat ass can't go five yards..." I persisted, and the pounds started to slowly melt away. I also found I enjoyed the solace of listening to my own mind while running (as well as the challenge of not passing out after half a mile), and it became a newfound passion. My ankle began to hurt as I was able to run farther and it became apparent I needed to find some new shoes. I found out that a bunch of guys involved with the local cross country and running team at a local college here also worked at Run With Us, so I figured they had to know their stuff. I came in, they measured my feet, analyzed my gait and told me I needed some motion control shoes. I was given 3 different brands of shoes to try, and had me go run around outside to test drive the shoes before I selected what to get. In the end I bought a pair of Brooks. They told me if for whatever reason I wasn't satisfied with the shoes for the first week or so to bring them back. Those shoes were the best damn shoes I ever wore. I put those shoes through over 500 miles of hell before I had to go buy another pair. I came back to Run With Us not just for shoes, but also for accessories and other stuff. The staff are not only super knowledgeable about the products they carry, but their experience and friendliness makes for excellent customer service. They kept my passion for running going and encouraged me to try some local races as I looked for new challenges. I highly recommend Run With Us to beginning runners all the way to experienced fanatics. Run With Us does everything possible to live up to that plea. Their good service and attention to runners is consistent, and being in the company of fellow runners as you're about to drop $100+ for a pair of shoes that'll last you half a year at most is reassuring. You can take the shoes out for a test run around the block and see how they feel, and the RWU folks will check your mechanics to see if you're a neutral, underopronator or overpronator (like yours truly). If you don't know what any of that means then you've come to the right place, they'll walk you through it. In addition to the shoes, the vast array of running gear lining the walls and the extras (gadgets, goos and socks) you can find plenty of info on upcoming races. And if you run with the Pasadena Pacers you get a 10% discount. That doesn't hurt. I highly recommend Run With Us, whether you're getting off the couch or you're on your 15th marathon. First time coming here and knew nothing about running. The sales associate (I forgot the lady's name, my receipt says "Rosario" though) was very proactive in helping me pick a comfortable pair of running shoes. After I said I had very little knowledge about running, she gave me a thorough explanation about the importance of stretching, strengthening leg muscles, and understanding critical areas of my feet. After observing my gait and watching me balance on one foot, she said that I had a tendency to pronate my feet and brought out 4 different pairs of shoes that were suitable for my needs - New Balances, Mizunos, Brooks, Asics. She thoroughly explained the design and features of the shoes and allowed me give each pair a test run around the block. (It was a hot day, but I'm glad she convinced me to test them out. It really helped with my decision-making. I went with the Asics.) The shoes were a bit pricier than I had anticipated, but I received a lot of information about choosing running shoes and am comfortable selecting a pair on my own later on. The education, service, and quality of the shoes were definitely worth the price. read more

Came here for my first time, thanks to a Groupon deal. Turns out that this little place is very friendly and helpful! Only thing that I noticed is they don't carry any Nike product. Checked out what they carry and they have a pretty good assortment of running shoe brands. Ranging from Asics to Saucony (again, no Nike). My friend and I was being helped with our sizing & how to match a proper shoe with our running style. We were even encouraged to test the shoes out by running around the outside perimeter of the store to get a real feel of the shoe. Both my friend & I ended up walking out with a pair of Brooks running shoe. Best part is their 10-Day satisfaction guarantee policy. If you don't like the feel of the shoes within 10 days of your purchase, you can bring it back. Not a bad deal, yes? read more

Never thought it could be possible to have a transcendental experience at a friggin' sneaker store, but man oh man, what a find this place is. And let me say, this is a pro shop. Not a sneaker store, not a tennis shoe store. It is a RUNNERS store. (Well, duh, its in the name). Anyhow, I was greeted immediately, helped instantly, provided with amazing information, fitted / measured, tried on bunches of shoes - and wham - bam - walked outta this place with a pair of Pearl Izumi's that have changed the future of my biomechanical existence. I feel SO good. The place rocks, the staff rocks, the selection rocks. When I go back, hopefully I'll have actually RUN in this shoes 30 pounds lighter. OH - and for those of you who want to recycle your shoes, this place will take your old pair, donate them or send them to a place which recycles the rubber for athletic fields, schools, etc. I won't go anywhere else from now on. I started running back in June with a local running group and since it seemed I was the only one using cross trainers (everyone was adamant that I should get running shoes) I went to Run With Us on August 9, 2015 and was helped by Ray to purchase my first ever running shoes. Ray was very attentive in making sure I got the correct pair -- he had me walk and stand to see how my feet positioned as well as using the machine. After he confirmed my foot type, he brought out 4 pairs of shoes and had me take my time testing each one. The service was excellent and I was very happy with my purchases, even though it was the most I ever paid for a pair of shoes. They now have record of my foot in the event I return in the future for another pair of shoes. Eleven days later, the eyelet on my left shoe unexpectedly broke -- and I wasn't even tugging on the shoe lace very hard. After encouragement from my fellow runners, I called the next day and mentioned the problem. They were willing to exchange my shoes for a new pair as long as I had my receipt. After work that day, I mentioned the situation to the first staff I saw, he helped me promptly (I didn't catch his name), and I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes with my replacement shoes. :) read more

This is the only place to go for running shoes. I first went here when I was training for the LA Marathon in 2003 and have been coming back since. Mind you it's not cheap but, its worth every penny. The customer service here is exemplary. They look at your specific needs and don't just throw at you what they have in stock. Run With Us has a 7 day exchange period on your shoes so, if they don't work for you bring em back and get something that does. Proper running shoes prevent injuries so I don't mind spending $100 on shoes. My teenage sons run on the HS X-Country team and track team and I bring them here to get fitted. This is the only place that I will buy my running shoes from. I used to go with Nike's just because the commercials made me buy them haha but after a week I started getting lots of pain in my knees, shins, and calves. I came here after a recommendation from my cousin who does marathons for breakfast and they completely fixed everything. Yes the place is small but it's simple! They only carry what you need and nothing else. All of the workers there are athletes (so they know what they're talking about) and also very friendly, not intimidating at all. The staff member that is helping you will first watch you walk examining your gate to see how your feet move and then bring out a few pairs for you to try on depending what they feel is best for you. You may not have heard of some of the brands (saucony, brooks, asics, etc) but trust the staff! Running shoes usually run about $95-$110 but they'll last for a good 500 miles or so depending on the shoe. Yes, running shoes have an expiration date when it comes to protecting your feet from the constant pounding on the ground. They encourage you to try it on and run around outside to make sure it's what you want so take full use of it. They have their own small parking lot but it's sorta hidden and the entrance to that is on Locust St which is north of Walnut St. You can also park on Locust St but be careful the city only lets you park on one side so read the signs so you don't get a parking ticket. read more

Very helpful if you aren't sure what you're looking for. I'm new to running and I was having problem with ankle pain & swelling. The staff could see the problem right away and recommended a few shoes to try that would fit me. The new shoes were a huge improvement after my first run. Came here after purchasing a Groupon and I'm so glad I did! I've been having some pain after I run for more than 30 minutes. I came here hoping they would be able to fit me with better shoes. The guy had helped me had me walk around the store so he could see how I stride. He made some notes and brought me some shoes. The minute I put them on I noticed a big difference. I walked and jogged around in them and finally chose a pair. The shoes were pretty inexpensive compared to other places. I have now worn them for about 3 weeks and I am so happy! The pain I was getting is no longer occurring so I have been able to work out better, which in turn has helped me lose some weight! I wish I could remember the name of the guy who helped me. He was very nice and answered all my questions which made me comfortable, since I felt he really knew what he was talking about. I will definitely be back :) read more

My go-to for shoes - love them! So, you know how, for education, it's best to have professors that have had real on-hand experience in the industry related workforce so that they could teach you real life application material rather than stuff you can just Wikipedia? The workers here all have experience in running/racing - one of the guys and one of the girls competes in and wins local 5Ks/10Ks on a regular basis, and the rest of them, you can see speckled in the crowd at half marathons and marathons. The folks at RwU are really friendly and they always treat you as a customer, not as commission or money out of the wallet. Based off how you walk, what your posture is, and how you strike your foot, they prescribe to you the shoes that best fit you. They highly encourage you taking a run in them around the block to see how they feel. And the best part? They have a 10-day return policy, so let's say you buy a pair, find out that you really don't like how they feel, look, or fit, you can bring it back, no questions asked. Yes, the prices aren't cheap, but they're an established store that must stay open, so they mark up prices from what you may get off the internet. But it's the honest opinion of knowledgeable runners that's part of the package you pay for. They have 'Fun Runs' on Mondays starting at 6pm. There is a 2-mile, 4-mile, and 6-mile group. If you want to put your running shoes to use, I suggest taking part in that. There are monthly raffles for gear and equipment from the store [pretty slick if you ask me]. NEGATIVE POINTS: Parking's a pain. If you park behind the store, there are only 4 spots or so. Park on the street just south of Corson, north of Walnut [can't remember that street's name]. Shaz told me this is the place to buy running shoes, and she was right. I rushed into the store on a Saturday and was quite surprised they there five employees standing in store ready to help me. Usually I have to hunt someone done. I told the fella that I needed shoes that won't give me blister. He noticed where I was having blisters and gave me three recommendations. I told him that they all felt the same and I'm not going to know until I jog around. He said, "No worries, you have ten days to return the shoes if they don't work." I asked, "Huh? I can return the shoes after treking them in mud and doggie poo!?" He said, "Yes." Talk about 100% guarantee! Wow, who knew a good pair of running shoes made the difference. My jog/walk normally takes about 2 hours with the old running shoes --I mostly walked because I would get blisters half way and then I have to walk with a limp home. With my new shoes, I cut the time by 30 minutes (i'm not runnning faster --but just able to jog longer). However, now my knees hurt. BIG SIGH. I don't pronate like 90% of the world. So they offered me 4-5shoe options. Prices are average, to general MSRP for shoes.
