My experience with Timmy and Douglas Radiator was fantastic. I had bought my vehicle several months ago and it came with several receipts of work done over the years. Unfortunately, the car started leaking coolant so I called Douglas Radiator since they were the last shop to replace the water pump/timing belt. Timmy took the time to call me back himself and said they would check it out and make the repairs free of charge even though I wasn't the owner who had it serviced. I was completely impressed that they would make good on a warranty that was from the previous owner. They got the vehicle in the next day and made the needed repairs and didn't charge me a dime. Dodge RAM over-heated...took it to D.R. The replaced the water pump. Driving home it over-heated again. Took it back and they replaced the radiator, thermostat and clutch fan....."Why didn't you guys see that the first time?' No answer.....The next day my transmission went nuts. did a road trip as it got worse. Had to replace the transmission $6000. Turns out the installed a "Severe Duty" clutch fan that ran all the time instead of when super hot. Had it replaced, milage went from 12mpg to 22 mpg instantly, shifted smooth. Asked D.R. about it they basically shoved me out the door.......They were incompetent bullies... read more

Typing this review on the road home after being helped here. We stopped for gas down the street and suddenly my dad's car wouldn't turn on. We called AAA immediately and since it wasn't a battery issue, they towed us to this body shop. I missed my original appointment time but Timmy was able to rack my car immediately after I took a ride with him to illustrate my issue, which he identified and isolated quickly. He racked it right when we got back, messed with it a little and asked me to drive it to see if the issue was resolved. The noise was still there so we scheduled a time to leave it. Dropped off and picked it up a few hours later and the Subaru is happy again. I can't remember a better automotive repair experience. Dave is a pleasant and efficient front desk guy, Timmy is just an awesome person and he obviously hired some great techs, porters, etc. I'd heard it was the best shop in town and now I know. Jason and Tim are amazing. I was in Sacramento working and my wife was having issues with her Subaru. She took it to a shop in Carson her mom recommended and all they did was horse her around and make her afraid something else was wrong. They told her it would be weeks before they would have it ready. I called up Jason and asked if he had any recommendations and he let me know Tim was the best technician in the area. This review is long overdue. Back in April, I was visiting my son and family in Minden, and when it was time for me to drive back home to San Francisco, my car started to overheat. I was stuck on 395 in Gardnerville near a little group of shops. I went in one of them asking if the person could recommend a shop where I could have my car towed to. Without pausing, the man said most definitely go to Douglas Radiator and Auto and ask for Tim. That's exactly what I did and it was the most awesome experience. To say I was impressed by the exceptional customer service Tim provided is a big understatement. I am still singing his praises. On top of my not having an appointment, and making it possible to fit my car into the already heavy workload in the shop, I also needed to drive back to San Francisco that day, and Tim made it all happen. If I need any work done on my car in the future, that does not need immediate fixing, I will definitely wait to have it done until I go to see my son again, and make an appointment with Douglas Radiator!!! read more

I am AMAZED! I ran up on a median at night that dented a pipe underneath my 2003 Subaru. After calling SIX shops, I was finally referred to Douglas Radiator. They replaced the pipe at 1/18th of the price I had been previously quoted! Of course, part of the reason was that 'the other guys' said they'd need to replace the pipe AND the catalytic converter that it's attached to. This place just replaced the pipe!
