This dentist is a joke and is in it to rip people off. I had a very small chip on my molar and I thought I would be safe and get it checked out. I trusted the dentists' medical opinion, which was to fix with cap. Without thinking about it, I allowed and paid the dentist to fix my tooth. He sanded down the whole molar and put a cap on it. The tooth now is sensitive to cold water, hot water, and hurts when I chew on it. I had no issues with sensitivity before he operated on the tooth. Dr Rainey charged over $30,000 for doing my LVI Bright Smiles procedure (Which was done incorrectly from everything I've been able to research). I have been left in extreme daily pain for years after his procedure. I have teeth that he "supposedly" performed root canals on that hurt. This isn't supposed to be possible. I have a cyst/infection in my mouth that is clearly visible that they would even poke at and refuse to acknowledge anything is there even though it bleeds and pusses with touched. After the LVI Bright Smiles proceedure I was left with little tunnels under the edge of each tooth. As they used a special device to clean them, I believe this was done purpose for repeat business. He had me come back over and over every three months, and everything three months there were teeth he wanted to do again at over $3,500 a pop. He's more than willing to finance it with interest. After he realized I was on to the scam, he stopped coming in my room entirely while I was there. I feel sorry for the few staff members that are really nice. But this place is one giant scam, and charges over three times what any other dentist in town does for anything. Too bad I let him scam me so long I couldn't sue him. This man is a criminal and should be punished, and as such I will continue to harrass the State's Attorney weekly until something is done about it. He also tries to sell his wife's life coaching services out of the building. Ever since they moved to that new building. It's been one gigantic scam operation. Anxiety free dentistry? Yeah I don't think so. I can't even drive past his building without having panic attacks from remembering all the pain he's put me through. They use things they KNOW will give you a panic attack to cut corners and save time, even when they are well aware this is the case, and they have other things they could do. DO NOT GO HERE. I am a student in Tallahassee and went to Dr. Rainey in an attempt to have my teeth cleaned. Though he claims to be a 'faith based dentisty,' he told me that I needed over $9,000 worth of work done on my teeth, including 3 crowns and 6 cavities and a $350 'debrisment cleaning.' He even provided me with the information to take out a medical credit card. After seeing the staggering price of the work, I immediately sent the pictures and x-rays Dr. Rainey had taken to my family's dentist at home. My family's dentist advised me NOT to go back to Dr. Rainey's office and I saw my family dentist over the holiday break. I've been a patient of Dr. Rainey and his highly professional staff for many years and can attest to the fact that negative reviews are almost certainly based on a grievances unrelated to the ones cited by the reviewers. He is, quite simply, the most caring and most professional dentist I've ever used; and he and his staff are especially wonderful with patients who have an intense dread of all dental-related experiences. (It would not be fair to write about Dr. Rainey without giving equal credit to his dental staff and office management staff, all of whom express the same degree of care for the patient's personal comfort and satisfaction as he himself does.) He's not the cheapest dentist in town, but one wouldn't expect the best to also be the cheapest. One reviewer seems to have confused a second dentist's "minimum on which she could get by" (once the need for the most economical treatment had been explained), with Dr. Rainey's opinion, and that of his extremely competent and caring dental hygenist, as to what cleaning-related services were recommended if she wished her teeth to be in the best condition possible. read more

I went to Dr. Rainey and regret it. We paid him over ten thousand dollars for the first phase of getting my top teeth removed and getting my dentures. My son who went somewhere else had the same amount of teeth removed, and all his work was done for well under three thousand. My son as I, was promised a second pair of dentures in a year once the swelling was totally gone. I was under the impression that I was going to have my TMJ addressed with "tens" and implants, and my permanent dentures in a year like my son, when the swelling was gone, thus the higher price. My son was satisfied with all his work, however I wasn't at all. Eventually I was told, the price didn't include the implants, but just dentures. The high price was for the "tens" for my TMJ and for the special drugs he used when removing my teeth, and for the second set of dentures in a year. I went in many times for the "tens" which at first I thought helped my headaches, but they returned and never saw any change in my TMJ. The second step of the procedure for another 12 thousand kept changing too. The time frame of all the work kept changing, again the drugs used. etc. I finally broke my trust with Dr. Rainey when he attempted to charge me for the second set of top dentures I had already paid for. I have never sued anyone but am debating taking him to court. I am so grateful that I didn't go through with the second phase of the plan. As far as the staff in the office, my first thought was that they were pretty rude. Even the person who brought me to the dentist mentioned how she thought they were rude. One time they forgot me in the chair and I had to use my phone to call the front office to remind them I was in the back. One lady a little nicer then the rest was the reason I had even considered part two~however when I got all my work done (second phase) in another dentist office, I saw then what a dentist office was supposed to be like. Everyone was kind and treated me with respect. Everything done was written out with correct dates and all the work was done correctly, and yes, much cheaper. I do not recommend Dr. Rainey and if you must see him, expect to pay more and be sure to have everything written out with the proper dates. Expect very powerful drugs that were not necessary. My second procedure was done with just a few painless shots, verses some powerful drug that knocks you out, and have no memory of what was done to you. My recommendation is to run in another direction then Dr. Rainey's office. read more

I had a dental emergency with extreme pain. Dr. Rainey's office saw me immediately when other offices wouldn't due to short notice. Dr. Kupperman took out one of my teeth.
