I have two acres and many restrictions regarding what might grow on it (including, but not limited to: my inexperience, deer, more rock than soil, little sun...). Not only did Heather have those restrictions to contend with, I wanted to do the work myself and require little enough that I could realistically maintain what I created even though I have a day job. Heather met the challenge with such knowledge and gentleness. I would send her long texts despairing that I was approaching a certain aspect incorrectly, or worried that it wasn't going to work, or that I wasn't even using the correct tool for the job.. She was patient, detail-oriented (while making sure she didn't overwhelm) and has for all intents and purposes been in my pocket, available for any need, the entire time. She did a great job of understanding what it was I was wanting to accomplish -- with me trying to describe without knowing any of the appropriate terms. She has been -- and continues to be -- the knowledgable crutch I have needed to, for the first time in my life, create an outside space that I am already proud of. Thank you, Heather!

I wanted to know which plants would be best for our shady backyard and what was feasible given that our backyard slopes quite a bit down to a creek. She came to my house and took some some pictures, asked what we were looking for. Heather gave us the perfect plan for our family. Low maintenance (no mowing a lawn!), perfect for the shade, kid and pet friendly. We're not huge fans of the playground sets that are always in backyards, we just feel like they start decaying the minute you put them in. So she came up with a really cool rock yard area, where kids could climb and jump on boulders. But without the maintenance and eyesore of a playground set. Heather is super laid back. And really just a sweet kind person. She will definitely continue to be our point person as we dig into this project.

First the quote had to be redone because it was not what I asked for. I was given a tentative start as sometime during the week of May 14 but the prior Thursday had not heard from anyone at Dreamscapes to confirm. I called and was told work would start Monday, May 14. They were a no-show on the 14 so I called and was told work would start on the Tuesday the 15th. They were a no-show again so I went to the their office that afternoon and met with Zach, explained that the crew did not show up and asked when work would start. Zach could not find my paperwork, then asked whether I was satisfied with phase1 of the work. I explained a second time that I received zero communication, that the crew was a no-show twice and that no work had been done. He looked shocked, eventually telling me that he would be at my home on Thursday the 17th to mark the property and work would begin that day. He then handed me a can of spray paint and told me to mark the property myself. That afternoon, Tuesday the 15th, a subcontracted crew showed up at 5:30 PM. I never saw Zach. The crew worked on an off, a few evenings here, an afternoon there and one full day laying sod. To their credit they did great work but were obviously fitting my work around their regular customer schedule. One week into the work I got a call claiming that materials had been left off the quote and that I would have to pay several hundred dollars more. I did get one call from Zach about weather delays preventing sod delivery. This is expected and the call was appreciated. They are obviously taking in more business then they are able to complete and it shows. I will not contract with this company again.

DreamScapes is not a reliable company. They did tranform the look of my front yard but Janette made…read morea huge mistake by placing 5 bushes in the wrong sun exposue. Three of the bushes required shade and were planted in full sun. The leaves crisped up and eventually died. The two bushes planted in shade required sun. Richard looked at the bushes and said Janette would be in touch with me, that was 3 years ago, still no Janette. If I didn't pay them almost $20,000, maybe I would not be so upset. Richard does not stand behind his work or word. I suggest strongly not use this company. I am sure they will try to block my review. Just know that my rating would have been zero if allowed!
