I don't recommend Dr Russel Nord I had a total R knee replacement it is making slushing noice , and big tuck tuck noises while waking, sleeping and restricting me walking and pains after five month I couldn't walk even fifty feet only his assistant PA attended me only and have keep me going therapy first of all he never come to see me on follow up Dr visits me on appointment after knee replacement until fifth month to see me then tell all knees make noises because plastic and metals always make noises I said I am disagree with your statement I said nobody's knee replacement make any noises finally told him just fix it , but it was all vain even after 8 months he operated again I still have same problems with knee I don't know what to do after that I trusted him gave the second chance to fix my but all failed for me I still have same problems so I will not recommend any to go what I am going through in my life one year my happy retirement have been ruined and I am very upset how to solve my problems I believe they just do it money to make it again and again and rips patients and take advantage of insurance company I give negative five stars read more

I visited Dr.Nord office in April to check my knee and ankle problems. Dr. Nord is super knowledgeable about the knee injuries, he always help athletes to do surgeries. I even met one Oakland Root Sc player in the clinic office. My case is very rare and not easy to repair. Dr.Nord go through all the possible approaches and well explained every details. In the end, I decided to go with his solution to have a 2 steps or 3 steps ACL surgery. So far the progress and experience is very good. The physical therapy is super helpful, too. I'm waiting for the next step surgery. And will update it asap. read more

Exceptional service from the minute I walked in the door. Broke my collar bone in a fall on a Sunday, went to Dr. Nord's office on Monday without an appointment. Fortunately, there was a cancellation that morning and was able to fit me in right away. X-rays taken confirming injury, saw Dr. Nord and P.A. Shane who explained my options and very detailed in what to expect during surgery. Both are very kind, patient, and soft-spoken. Operations are done on Wednesdays. Surgical scheduler took the initiative to schedule me an appointment with a primary care physician on Tuesday morning for surgery clearance, and I was able to complete my blood work, covid test and x-rays through Washington Hospital and receive the results back by that afternoon in time for me to be cleared for surgery the next day. Surgical staff and nurses at WTMF Surgical Center were great. The surgery went well. Dr. Nord called me the next morning to check on my progress. I am now in recovery. I have had two post-op visits with Dr. Nord & P.A. Shane and it is apparent that they genuinely care about the well being of their patients before, during, and after. Great team work from the office staff to the surgical staff and everyone in between. read more

Top-notch care and bedside manner. Although the front office staff are not as affable or as on top of things as Dr. Nord himself, they have always managed to squeeze my appointments in to see Dr Nord within a few weeks of calling. Dr Nord serves as Washington Hospital staff orthopedist several times a month, while seeing patients in clinic for a few days a week at the Fremont Blvd site. In house X-ray available, with nearby MRI at Alliance within Washington Hospital a few blocks away (although for musculoskeletal MRI, I'd whole-heartedly recommend finding a higher resolution 3T provider, if resources allow, in lieu of the 1.5T at Alliance). Dr Nord and his physicians assistant Kari truly double-team you with a barrage of diagnostics during the exam. Very comprehensive for the most common ailments. Dr Nord generously takes time out to address all your concerns, and is certainly not a scalpel-in-hand kind of orthopedist, for which I am grateful. Impeccably courteous, self-deprecating humor, and not one to cut you off to enable running off elsewhere. Like Warren Buffet breaking down complex financial problems with his 'back home on the farms in Omaha" anecdotes, Dr Nord excels at using common real-world examples to illustrate complex anatomical pathologies and treatments for the patient. Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and funny- all these qualities makes for a good doctor. Add to it who genuinely cares for you- a great doctor I have found. Wait times are decent. He doesn't rush you. One great thing was that if the pain persists, he asked me to see another specialist in the same organization ( a surgery specialist); instead of coming back to him; even when the pain is in the area of his speciality. read more

I just took my Father in to see Dr. Nord for the first time today, during this Covid mess. Let me tell you, first off, there is plenty of parking, the office is close to the parking area. (This is good for people of a certain age) My Dad went in for Knee pain on both legs. When we first walked in there were plenty of signs that were very clear about where to check in. We were given hand sanitizer and new masks to put on (even though we were wearing masks), The staff was courteous, respectful and accommodating, (I had to come in because my Father is hard of hearing) We were greeted by Dr. Nord almost immediately after being shown into the exam room with his assistant taking notes. Dr. Nord was not only nice, he was very patient and informative taking the time to not just explain to me what was going on with my Dad, but he took the time to speak to my Dad and make him comfortable, (this is a big deal because a lot of people tend to dismiss him because he has a hard time hearing and he gets ignored a lot of the time.) Dr. Nord made my Father feel comfortable and welcomed. He explained to us what options my Dad had and even gave the x rays right then and there. My Dad ended up getting his first cortisone shot and he was very nervous...Dr. Nord did a good job of distracting him and poof...it was done...My Dad is a happy clam not experiencing pain for the first time in years....hopefully it will last. We have another appointment coming up for his hands...so when we checked out we greeted by the checkout desk. They were so nice and took their time. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nord and their staff. Clean, efficient, and friendly. They also have staff that speaks spanish, which is a plus for my family. Thank you again!!! read more

I haven't seen the doctor - so this review is not for his work. This poor rating is for his office not getting back to me to schedule an appointment. I called and left a VM. No response. I submitted an appointment request online - no response to that either. Assuming they are busy, I waited... Been more than a week now and have given up as I need to diagnose my leg pain ASAP. If I cannot talk to anyone to get an appointment, for my first visit, god knows what will be the struggle when I have issues later on. What a great doctor to go to when you have a knee problem. He's very professional and thinks of helping you out more than he does just looking to do surgery. His equipment for x-rays is so awesome, he pulls up a very clear picture of your knee right there on the computer and shows you everything that is going on. I have had 4 surgeries done by Dr. Nord. Two trigger finger surgeries and two knee orthoscopic surgeries for meniscus tears on two different knees. Dr. Nord always tries non-invasive, non surgerical procedures first. He delays surgery until absolutely necessary. I have always loved his warm personality, and sense of humor as well as his professionalism. He answers all your questions in terms that you can understand and never "times his appointments with you", never rushes off. He stays with the patient until they have all concerns addressed.
