We called our go-to contractor, Dan Shields at Dependable Home Services, if he knew of a good plumber and, without hesitation, he said Russell Walsh. Russell is an insured, licensed master plumber and serves all of Denver (we are in Aurora). They came this morning (Saturday), installed the new tank, hauled away the old one and packaging and were done in about an hour. I was a little nervous to go with them based on not seeing any reviews on Yelp with a project of this magnitude, but Russell with his straightforward (no bs) words put me at as much ease as one can be when someone is going to jackhammer your basement floor and dig through your backyard/concrete patio/garage. Russel was honest, efficient, and easy to work with. Our sump pump failed during the recent storm and needed to be replaced. Russel quoted me a price of $785.00 with a 5 year warranty over the phone and completed the job for the same price. There were no extra cost or hidden agendas. We had High 5 plumbing come out and quote the same job, they tried to sell us a plumbing membership and one of the sump pump replacements bid they gave us was $3,300.00, the lowest bid was $1,200 with a 2 year warranty. If you like spending hours cleaning water and mud out of your home, then these are the guys for you! They came to my home to install a water heater and tracked mud and dirt all over the place and gave little effort to keep the mess down. They left marks on my ceiling and stains in my carpet to which require minor repair. I understand water may get places, however, there was no effort in trying contain it to the point where it covered my bathroom floor and base boards and required immediate clean up to prevent rot. In addition, I had a Christmas tree stored in my crawl space to which they carelessly let water drain all over it without moving it at all. After they were done, they let my tree sit in stagnant water without informing me at all. I tried seeing if the lighting on it works to which part of it is ruined from water damage. Overall I am not impressed with the complete disregard and lack of respect this service has for another's property. If you enjoy nice things, look into a more courteous, plumbing service. read more

The worst service imaginable. Endless delays and changes in scheduling but when he finally showed up, he had no mask or booties to protect our floors. He said he was running out to grab some booties and an hour later had not returned. We waited an hour more and called him. He laughed and said he was on I-25 in traffic but was coming back. We waited. He was a no show, no longer answers his phone, and dropped the ball on what could have been a half hour repair of a bathtub drain. Called Russell Walsh Plumbing on a Friday about violently banging pipes. He correctly diagnosed it as a bad water pressure regulator and said would come out Sunday. Came out Sunday and said would replace regulator on Tuesday. Called me Tuesday to say all out of regulators but would be by on Wednesday. No call / no show Wednesday. Called me today Thursday to say would be picking up my items and be out tomorrow Friday. Yeah right! I called another company, they came out 1 hour after I called them today and fixed the problem with a screwdriver in 10 minutes. Not saying he's a bad plumber, just don't like the way I was treated. They have a lot of good reviews on yelp and nextdoor but I wouldn't ignore the negative ones. Update: someone else came and fixed the issue, and Russell did not correctly diagnose it. How you gonna come into my house and not only be mean, but also not even get it right??? I contacted Russell because I suspected an issue with my water heater, and his name and phone number were on it. Russell was very nice over the phone, and he showed up to my house relatively on time. However, he absolutely wreaked of cigarettes and wore his dirty boots in my home without any covering despite the rain outside. The real issue, though, was the way he talked over me and dismissed my theories, interpreting my reasoning/preliminary research as accusation. I found him sexist and combative; he made the situation very uncomfortable, and asked me "where I was from" because my "attitude was not laid back like people from Colorado." I've lived here since I was two years old, and I'm extremely nice to service people, you strange man. Further, I am a young, small, single, minority woman who lives alone. If you are a man in my home here to do a job, and you are not even listening to me, I will become assertive. He repeatedly insisted that he did not need my money and wanted to give good service, though I never indicated I felt I was being cheated or lied to. I simply wanted the issue, whatever it is, fixed. I was so uncomfortable I nearly asked him to leave. I would rather pay a different company more than have Russell return to my house, regardless of how knowledgeable he may be. I don't even know if he's knowledgeable since he would not actually do anything to really look at the water heater or the suspected problematic cartridge in my bath tub. We had a leak which looked like it was coming from the garbage disposal. I called Russell plumbing. They came out and tightened down the top of the garbage disposal and another piece which was loose. He was at the house for a good solid 10 minutes. He diagnosed and fixed the problem and didn't charge us anything. He said he really didn't do anything and didn't feel right charging us when according to him, he didn't any work. I offered him a tip and again he said no. They just wanted to provide good service. First of all, he was the only one able to fit us in his schedule within 2 days of contact; 1 other company was 2 weeks out and 1 didn't even call us back. The congenial young man looked at the under sink plumbing and said something like "whoa, who did that?" . . . yep, it was done by a sub-contractor for a granite counter top retailer/installer.
