When these guys picked up my car they ended up breaking a plastic piece in my car. When I contacted Russell to see about getting it repaired he first had me email him and it took almost a week to respond. Then after he finally did at 830 this morning I responded back at around noon, the same day. I got a phone call at 5 by a screaming man that wouldn't let me talk. He basically told me that the piece is a $3 piece and I need to buy it - he's way too busy to deal with this and hung up on me! After taking a few minutes to gather myself I called back he yelled at me again and asked me if I don't have something else better to do besides bugging him, etc and how the broken part isn't anything me mechanical and he's not going to deal with me. Russell's Towing is totally outrageous, They (the male and the female) are so rude in person and on the phone that I cannot believe it. They will hang up on you before you ask them how much am I going to owe them. If you go to the towing yard's office and speak to them in person and do not have a yellow release slip from the PD they just slam the door in your face. I consider myself a gentleman and a Christian so I act and speak like one and to be treated this badly is just unbelievable. These guys are working a scam at the Anaheim Business Center. Do not use them. When you pull into the parking lot, there are no visible signs. If you search very closely, there is one small sign that is completely faded behind where cars park so that an incoming vehicle to the lot would never see it. I have pictures and will be filing complaints with BBB and Attorney General's office. On top of that, they have a person in the lot who puts a piece of blue tape on your car with the time you park. Once it has been 1 hour & 1 minute, they tow you. $250 to get your car less than an hour later. This went on day after day as people stood outside looking for their vehicles. They have a guy sit in the parking lot across from GE healthcare and he tags the car with blue tape and he sits, back and laughs as families come out to find their cars have been towed, what a low life..this place is a total scam and is in kahoots with Anaheim PD.. really did those cars being parked in the lot not during business hours hurt anyone, No!!! The last time the driver brought a car, released it from the tow and the car crashed into the hoist causing lots of damage to the vehicle. Called for a towing services because my tire went flat because my car went over the curb area to avoid being hit by a car. When the towing truck arrived he asked if I had a spare tire and once we realized we had a donut he offered to put it on for me which was so nice because I feel like most towing companies wouldn't do that. Once he put it on he told me to back out and drive it to make sure it was safe, it wasn't, which wasn't his fault at all. The tire rod in the tire was bent so it was bending the tire. Which obviously isn't safe. So I got towed home. But the fact that he offered was very kind of him. And he also recommended some great tire places to go to that offer used tires that aren't too expensive! Very satisfied :) read more

A month ago the clutch went out on my truck. 2003 Dodge Ram2500 4x4, heavy duty with diesel and manual transmission. After a long sucky phone session with my roadside service (whom I will get rid of) I finally arrange the tow. Over a year ago on another occasion, they sent out a terrible tow service, unfriendly and unprofessional. Those idiots broke my front bumper off. So this time I was rather concerned that I get better service. Within 15 minutes, a shiny red truck pulled up. Kudos to the driver Mr. LARRY DEVOGEL. Very friendly and quick. I watched his every move. This guy moved fast and Knew is stuff. Within minutes my truck was on the flat bed and ready to take me to a shop about 9 miles away. I was a little apprehensive about posting this comment, but after seeing Jessica M's review just last month, I think we may be talking about the same driver. Don't know if he was drunk, but he was in a elementary school parking lot today and was honking his horn at parents that were picking up their kids. When he felt he was cut off (which he wasn't - parents just following routine) he screamed some F bombs and flipped off the driver... all in front of teachers, parents and students. When I called the office he wanted to know if I worked for the school, as if just a parent concerned about an adults behaivor in fromt of children means less? He didn't seem to care much, didn't apologize and just said he would talk to the driver. That's probably not going to happen. I HAVE AAA AND PROBABLY WILL NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, BUT IF I WERE STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NEEDED HELP, I WOULD TELL THIS COMPANY TO KEEP ON DRIVING... Beware of this tow company especially if your in the neighborhood of the American Sports Center!! This is an unethical, predatory tow truck company. I made the mistake of parking across the street from ASC on Saturday in front of the healthcare building. There were no "no parking" signs in front of the business at the time I parked there. I came out to check on my car and it was gone! I went to the front of the business and on the inside of their dark tinted window was a phone number of the tow company, so much for a clearly marked sign. I was told the ransom for my vehicle was $325.00. Upon arriving at the tow company, I ran into the person described from the previous review. He was matter of fact about my situation but not particularly rude, and let me know that there is a car spotter at this particular lot,(Hmmm,ethical/unethical?). I was further told that once patrons cross the street to ASC, their car will be on the hook to the tow yard and your vehicle held for ransom at the highest fee they can charge which is the $325.00 fee and hopefully you can get there before they close. I guess the devil was out doing business in Anaheim on Saturday !!!! read more

AWFUL Experience: Porsche roadside assistance contracted Russell's towing to transport my car. I received a text message from roadside assistance with Russell's phone number, 714-999-0886. I phoned the number and Russell answered. Its difficult to explain exactly what happened but essentially they said "why in the 'hell' are you phoning us"? I explained that I received a text message with their number and wanted to confirm the pickup since it was scheduled the preceding day. They were extremely rude so I called Porsche cancelled the pickup by Russell and they contracted with another towing company. I also contacted the local BMW & Mercedes dealers (we own all 3 brands) regarding my experience. All three manufacturers took the information and indicated that they would not use Russell's Towing in the future. I will also contact AAA. Russell's customer relations is dreadful, I can only imagine that their towing service is equally as bad. read more

Honestly, my experience wasn't that bad. I had to have my car towed because it was leaking coolant and Pep boys advised that I not drive it home. The reason for the 3 star review is because Russell isn't exactly Mr. Personality. Because I have roadside assistance through my car insurance, they continued to call until they knew I had been towed. It took about 1.5 hrs for them to finally get to me. That was to be expected. I was in a parking lot, so I wasn't concerned. After they exceeded the ETA given per my roadside assistance, I gave them a call to see what was going on. I was very polite. Russell explained that someone else had broken down in the middle of a busy intersection and that my tow truck guy would be there momentarily. Shortly after a quality assurance rep called me and asked had my tow truck arrived. I said, " No but..." before I could complete my sentence and explain what Russell and I had previously spoken about, he chimed in, and very rudely might I add. "Didn't I just speak to you? Didn't I already tell you why you haven't been picked up yet?" I absolutely did not appreciate his tone of voice. I kindly said, had you let me finish my sentence before you chimed in, I was going to explain what we spoke about. Mind you the rep is still on the phone. "Well, I just want to make sure you were telling the truth." The tow truck guy I had was very nice, his name was Kiha (I'm certain, I'm spelling that incorrectly). He was pleasant, very polite, and helpful. He suggested several auto repair shops, and told me not to worry about my car that it would work out. He was very nice. Russell, not so much.
