Upscale dining in a casual atmosphere. Love this place! The food was so good Can't wait to try the pizza next time! Would be nice to see a pizza slice, half sandwich and soup combo! Service was excellent! Very friendly and helpful. You order at the register or via QR code on the table. Someone does serve you at your table and clean up when you leave, so tips are much appreciated!

    Short rib ravioli

I'll start with the good: I really enjoyed the pizza. Ordered 16" doppio pizza with extra pepperoni and added a drizzle of Mike hot honey. The pie was a little floppy, but still very enjoyable. Ate three slices, even though I would have been satisfied with two. It was good and I wanted more. The pizza sauce is sweet, which I really like. I definitely recommend. I was mildly underwhelmed with the beef shortrib ravioli. The raviolis themselves were tasty enough. However, the Marsala sauce was extremely watery. Marsala typically has a consistency a bit thinner than gravy. This was more like a soup broth. It was also just under $23, which I found to be a little steep, especially considering the underwhelming sauce and the thin ravioli. I would have happily paid around $15.00 for it, but I think $22.95 is a bit much for what you're getting. That said, that taste was good. I would recommend to anyone considering. You're going to pay a little more than your neighborhood pizza chain, but I would happily pay a little extra for a pie that I really enjoyed, where at other places I have to heavily modify my order for me to enjoy.

My family went after seeing this on the hot/new section on yelp. They're still in soft opening but it seemed like things were pretty well finalized. There's ample seating and it's a new building so everything was very nice. The menu seemed a little overwhelmingly large and with the "order up front or on app" there wasn't really an opportunity to get suggestions from the staff. As someone else noted the staff was friendly but didn't actively engage which seemed unusual for a soft launch Food came out pretty quickly once we ordered it. I really liked that they had build to order slices and all the toppings were available. So we got a slice, a medium pizza, and the baked ziti. The baked ziti we all agreed wasn't very good - far too much tomato and it was soggy, not much cheese or flavor. The pizza was good - sweet and soft dough, and the proteins were all perfectly cooked. The garlic bread in the beginning was interesting but not my favorite- too heavy on the garlic. I think this are in Mesa is going to really take off and I expect good things from Russo's.

The Brooklyner square pizza. Vodka sauce, cup and char pepperoni and basil

My family was looking for a new Pizza place to try on a Sunday afternoon and we remembered driving by this location months before. Russo's is in a new development just North of the South loop 202 (SanTan Freeway) on the East side of the street. It's part of the shops at the Revel Surf development. We received a friendly greeting as we walked in and had our pick of tables (except there was one family already there...would have been awkward to join them). There were only about 8 tables inside so not sure what it's like when it gets crowded. They do offer patio seating if the weather is accommodating. We sat near the front as the shop had nice natural lighting. We were in the mood for pizza but it was fun to explore the entire menu...they have a lot of other offerings- salads, soups, pastas, calzones, sandwiches, appetizers and more. The pizza choice was difficult as they have many styles and specialties. We chose The Brooklyner 16" square pizza (16" diameter so quite large) as we all love charred cupping pepperoni. It comes with a vodka sauce base which I enjoy but not the traditional rossa pizzas my boys would prefer. The ingredients were excellent- tasty cheese, basil and of course the pepperoni. The crust was good where it wasn't softer and super greasy. The biggest downside was the pizza was quite oily/greasy. Having only ordered the pizza and fountain drinks we didn't get a chance to review other items. I'd like to dine here again and get some different entrees to update my review.

My son and I visited opening weekend. The slices are humongous! We both enjoyed our pizzas. I ordered the sausage and ricotta. My son sticks to pepperoni but I look forward to trying other options and maybe ordering a full pizza. We also ordered tiramisu and cheesecake. I like the outdoor dining option. We just ordered carryout this time. It's reasonably priced for what you get. The staff was polite and welcoming.

Found a new pizza near by the house and had to try it out! I placed an order for 12" pizza (half pepperoni/half Canadian bacon) with 10 order hot buffalo wings to go. The host told me it would take about 30 minutes. I showed up about 15 minutes later to pay my bill and wait the remaining minutes. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting a little longer than that. Maybe 45/50 minutes? The staff seemed to have a back up of to go orders which slowed down service a bit. The staff did their best to keep up. Given the short staff in the restaurant, I didn't mind at all. When my order was finally ready, the staff were generous and provided a compensation, which I didn't expect but greatly appreciated. Got home and my husband and I enjoyed every last bite of our meal. The half and half thin crust was great! I would've like a crisper edge but over all great flavor of the pepperoni and Canadian bacon. The wings were also good. Despite the busy time, I'd come back to try the ravioli and more pizza.

Large arugula salad $13 and a 12" pie for $22.

Ordered to go. IMO not worth $40. Would have rather spent that somewhere else but I wanted to give this place a try claiming it's a NY pizzeria. No sir....not for me. Crust was soft and not thin enough actually it was chewy...I'll stop there. The arugula salad pictured was a "large" for $13. Pretty sure it was 4 oz worth. Next time I'll try something else.

    Kids pizza cut in half

Saw this place after our visit to Hooligans coffee so decided to stop by and check it out. The place is small inside. Not much seating inside but they also have outdoor seating which is also kinda limited but more space. It was cold outside so we sat inside. Service was great. A lady greeted us and told us about their grand opening special they had going on. They serve you with their focaccia which was pretty good! My kids didn't care for the oil dip because of all the spices it had a bit of a kick but my husband and I enjoyed it. My husband ordered a slice of their pepperoni pizza and my daughter also got a kids pizza. Their slices are pretty big but thin. My husband was good with just one and my daughter didn't even finish her other half. So the amount was plenty. I ordered the short rib ravioli. It was really flavorful just a tad bit on the salty side. My son ordered his chicken Alfredo fettuccine and when I tried his chicken it was a bit on the dry side but he enjoyed it. At the last of his pasta he did notice a piece of hair which was unpleasant and we did mention it to our server. She did give us an option to comp the dish or remake it but since my son practically ate most of it and didn't realize until after we asked to comp it. I understands things like that happen but I question if the people in the back making food are wearing hairnets at all while making the food?? Overall it was okay minus the hair in the food.

Happy to see that we're getting some more food options in the area! This is a small restaurant with a friendly staff. The food is good. I got the soup and sandwich, and the Tomato Pesto soup was so good. Perfect for dipping bread into! The chicken sandwich was decent but the chicken needs improvement. It was thin, a little dry, and it would've been nice if it was one piece instead of sliced. Overall had a good experience and plan to come again!

I was swindled by this place because I had read it was owned by a fellow EM neighbor and I love supporting local.. only to find out, $100, and an hour wait later, that it's a chain. We tried a regular pep for the kids, then 2 specialty pizzas. The jalapeño/pep one and the fig, prosciutto. We also tried their garlic knots. None of it was good. I'm also confused as to where the fig jam was.. not worth the money. I also ordered the pizza around 4pm, requesting the 6pm time slot. I do this often so I can ensure I don't have a 3 hour window- esp on Friday nights. I went in at 6pm and it wasn't ready until 6:50pm. The pizza was dry, their marinara sauce tasted like nothing.. I almost took a covid test thinking something was wrong with my taste buds. The kids liked the pep but they're 7 & 8.. none of the adults liked anything.

Some of the friendly staff at any restaurant we have been to lately! Erica was helpful, polite and so kind. The pizza truly tastes like NY/NJ pizza! Sauce has a little sweetness, crispy crust and the right amount of t of toppings. Wings had a good, flavor but not just know they are not a crisp wing. Well lit, clean and plenty of outdoor seating. We will be back and will tell others to give it a try.

And then imagine finding out that said location is INSIDE an incredible brewery. Baby... when I tell you I almost ascended. Hello? Excuse me? Did the pizza and beer gods personally hear my dramatic little prayers? Did they not only bless us with this heavenly combo, but ALSO decide to rotate different pizza specials every single week just to keep me emotionally unstable? Because THEY. DID. I genuinely cannot stop talking about this place. At this point my friends are one more pizza rant away from blocking my number, but I refuse to apologize. Every single time I go, I convince myself this is my favorite pizza... and then next week they drop another masterpiece and suddenly I'm questioning everything I thought I knew about myself. What makes this place so ridiculously good is that they are fearless. They're out here using sauces as bases that other pizza places would clutch their pearls over. Ingredients that sound chaotic on paper somehow turn into the most beautiful, life-altering bite you've ever had. It's giving culinary drag performance. Bold. Unexpected. A little dramatic. Perfect execution. And the brewery vibe? Elite. The energy is fun, relaxed, a little loud in the best way, and honestly the perfect setting to destroy an entire pizza while pretending you'll "just have one slice." Lies. All lies. The beer pairings somehow make every flavor pop even more, which feels scientifically unfair. Also can we normalize restaurants understanding that pizza should be FUN? Because this place gets it. They're creative without being pretentious, experimental without losing quality, and somehow every pie still feels comforting and familiar while also making you gasp like you just heard fresh gossip. At this point I don't even ask what the special is anymore. I just trust them blindly like a toxic relationship, except this one actually delivers happiness. 10/10. Life-changing. Emotionally supportive pizza.

If you're in downtown Mesa and you're looking to grab a bite to eat and maybe have a drink or two,…read moreyou should consider swinging by Goat and Ram This spot has all the small batch brewery vibes, but is also a very popular pizza parlor. Located on the main drag of downtown Mesa you can eat inside or on the patio. There aren't servers, instead, you order at the front desk. The menu has a variety of options, mostly pizza (both classics and signature pies). There is also a bar area where you can grab a pint or two of local brews The interior was electric with people enjoying pizza, locations, watching the Olympics, and just unwinding for the day. We ordered a salad and a couple of pizzas. The salad came out first, and the pizzas weren't far behind Being a self-proclaimed pizza snob, the pizza was fine. It wasn't overly flavorful, and it didn't blow me away, but it also didn't disappoint. The salad was LOADED with toppings, and I was somewhat impressed there. Unfortunately, polling the group, the beer was slightly lackluster. But again, this spot is a fun vibe and is great if you want to hang out for a bit and enjoy a brewery/pizza parlor type atmosphere Some tips: When you're done with your drinks and meal consider walking down the Main Street and stopping by one of their many bars, museums, and other eateries There isn't a lot of parking off the main drag, but we were fortunate enough to find parking on a few different occasions Cheers!
