Absolutely, tastes like gray! First the menu is doing too much, for instance, the manhattan had both bourbon and rye plus a cold foam? WHY?! I ordered the filet; was I given a filet? Now as a Chef and butcher, I have never seen a stringy filet. Which makes me think this may be printed meat. (For context, in grocery stores, they are required to tell you printed meat is being sold, however restaurants are not.) my husband ordered the steak frites.It was an unseasoned skirt steak with nearly chopped parsley, tomatoes, and side of mayonnaise. I was skeptical when I saw where this new RusTeak location is on a map, because it's pretty much a stealth business park, hidden in trees, off a side road, and RusTeak is in the back. And yet, just a week or so after opening it was packed at lunchtime, so they're doing something right. A lot of things, actually. First, the room is great. High ceilinged, trendy, with a great bar separate from the dining areas. The bar also opens to the outside via a counter, so lots of seating possibilities. The place just looks cooler than most Orlando restaurants. The cocktail menu is a great place to start exploring. I enjoyed my Rum and iced coffee concoction very much. There is also a pretty extensive and reasonably priced wine list. The menu is a single page, perhaps because they are still in a soft opening, but there is a nice variety. I loved my 55th Street sandwich, which was essentially a Reuben made with cole slaw. The smoked pastrami was wonderfully meaty and abundant. The half wedge salad that accompanied it was a bit odd. It was Romaine rather than iceberg, which is fine, but there was no dressing, just cheese crumbles and a drizzle of balsamic. The mushroom brie bisque was wonderfully rich and flavorful. As I said, they were busy, and there weren't a lot of servers, but they did a good job of keeping up, although it was never really clear who our server was, and I think they still have some communication issues to work out amongst them. But all in all this is a promising start, and just the kind of restaurant we need in this part of town. read more

This restaurant was aesthetically pleasing to me. Such a nice chill & fun atmosphere. Me and my friend stopped by on Saturday where they had a live musician. They have a huge selection of wine & liquor! I can't remember the exact name of the cocktails we ordered as everything on the menu had a fun spectacular name but the purple signature cocktail l was our fav! For food we ordered lobster tacos with a side of mash potatoes & Traditional cheese burger with sweet potato fries. The lobster tacos were amazing & so were the mashed potatoes. I've had better American cheese burgers, I feel the meat was lacking flavor maybe a pinch more of salt and pepper would've solved the issue. We made a reservation for our daughter's birthday. The waiter was anything but attentive and suuupppeerrrrrr slow. On the reservation it asked if we were celebrating anything special and we indicated it was our daughter's birthday. Nothing was ever said or anything. The food is always great, but service seems lacking unless we sit at the bar. My son spilled an entire $11 beer all over my husband and instead of just replacing it, when we got our bill we were charged for the replacement beer. The hostess girls were in their own little world and out of three of them standing there when we left, none of them said anything like have a nice night. Little gestures go a long way and I'd hate for the service of this great restaurant ruin repeat customers. For two kids and two adults our bill was $190. At that price, I expect great service and food. This visit has really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I went to Rusteak thinking that Ru"Steak" would be a steak house with a high quality steak. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the New York strip, which was the most expensive steak on the menu, celebrating my anniversary, and it was the most flavorless chewy tough hockey puck I've ever been served at a restaurant. And I wasn't alone, I looked around and saw many other diners sending their steaks back due to the poor quality. Because of that the vibes were off and everyone was just trying to get out of there. Plenty of parking. Has bar and tables. Some outdoor tables. They allow dogs. They recently updated their menu and the drink menu. Love their seasonal offerings. I always ask the waiter what drink to order. Happy hour is 4-7pm 25% off drinks and apps. It used to feel more busy in summer. Love the cauliflower bites. - I think it's deep fried, they are filling. Theres allot of seafood on the menu. The burgers look amazing. We got the shrimp skewer app : not as hot or crispy as we wanted. The black and blue crostins are a fun bite. I've been meaning to write this the past few weeks. Came in and sat at the bar. Had called ahead to see what the fresh fish was and the hostess said snapper. Ordered the fish sandwich and confirmed with the bartender it was snapper. After awhile... two fish sandwiches come out that immediately did not look like snapper. Thick, grey, RUBBERY... Asked the bartender and she states it is mutton snapper. OK - if done correctly, that would be ok. I take a bite and literally have to put in my napkin. At the same time, my husband unlids the bun and takes his knife to it and it won't even slice (like a terrible piece of meat). We inform the bartender who was actually cool about it and says - yeah, fish should not look like that. The manager comes over, takes them back to the kitchen, comes back and only talks to the bartender. She hands us two menus and says - well, would you like to order something else. (order something but you will still be PAYING for it). We opted to pay for our drinks and just leave. Manager comes back again and loudly says to a server behind us - hey, 86 the snapper we are THROWING it all out it's no good. The fish is now halibut. The manager NEVER spoke to us until we were leaving he gives us a head nod and says "sorry about the fish". No explanation. No offer to provide a substitute. I'm truly done with this Rusteak. This is literally the second in a row bad experience between sub par food and sub par service. The time before I came with a group of 6 girlfriends and everyone had "mixed" reviews with the majority 4/6 not loving their food. I'm done with this hit or miss experience. Happy hour is really a great deal so roll up before 7pm. My tacos may have had too much in them (I ate some meat out of the taco first) but I enjoyed every bite I took and left nothing on my plate. read more

Eekk. I was sad when Rus Teak by us closed down. Decide to give this one a shot. Definitely love the interior way more than the old one. Nice and modern. The arch lighting is a nice touch. Other than that It's the same great food. The part we missed most about Rus Teak was the cocktails! That strawberry JinJam LOL. Always a sweet treat. You could never taste the alcohol. Tommy and I were amazed again tonight on how accommodating RusTeak is for vegan requests. We stopped to just have their Kung Pao Cauliflower and a glass of wine by since we weren't that hungry. Glad we decided to try a few other items. Our server Chris, was wonderful on passing on our ideas to Head Chef CJ. I originally thought I wanted to try a vegan risotto, but Chris shared Chef CJ was working on a new vegan appetizer, ceviche. Glad I wanted to see how this was since I loved traditional ceviche before I became vegan. It was delicious. With a base of tostones, which I adore, and was cooked crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, it had a ceviche topping of marinated tofu, red & green peppers, onions, and avocados. I visited Rusteak for a dinner date. Our server was friendly and attentive, and she gave us recommendations. The food didn't quite deliver for me. We got the pretzel rolls which were good, but there wasn't enough cheese in my opinion. I got the filet later. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium-well, which was pretty disappointing for a $45 dish. The mashed potatoes weren't really flavorful or particularly creamy. Desastrous: food poisoning, very long wait very subpar food We ate at Rusteak last night. We were seated within minutes when we were first told there would be a 30 minute wait and were put on a wait list, good thing we did not walk out....or so we think....it would have been better for us. We waited upward of 45 minutes between our order and the food delivery and tgat is after we called the waiter seeveral times a and then he started avoiding eye contact with us....so the manager appeared to tell us that our order had been out 27 minutes,(no, no over 45 minutes!!!!) and that was beyond the internal 25 minutes in house limit so dud we want drinks on him. My husband took a glass of merlit and our food was brought in: welllllllllll. My keto keto!!! Was very subpar! The salmon was burned on the outside (had to remove all the bitter burnt exterior) and was overcooked. The cauliflower casserole was dry, room temperature and had NO SALT at all. The 2 little pieces of brow bacon are not even worth my comments. Only decent thing on ate were the asparagus! My husband burger was ok but his fries were also room temperautre!!!temperature!!!! We left without taking a dessert. During the night my husband had to go back and forth to the toilet with food poisoning....I will spare you the details!!! This is the 2nd time this happens. We had stopped going to Rusteak after that first food poisoning incident when they were still on Maguire Rd. Well it seems like they are still dealing with poor hygiene or food chain preservation in their kitchen. We will never return to RUSTEAK!!!! read more

I absolutely adored the interior of this place; it exuded a super cool ambiance with a touch of upscale charm. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the catch of the day BLT, which was incredibly delicious. The early bird drink was not only good but pleasantly strong, which was definitely a bonus. The staff were exceptionally friendly but the service was slow and the food took a bit longer than expected to arrive. I think they may have been short staffed though. I wasn't a big fan of the 500 Days of Summer drink. I love Moscow mules but the nectarine kind of ruined it in my opinion. We also had the pretzel rolls appetizer which was delicious. We did not have a reservation, but were able to get a table outside for our group. We were sat by the hostess and waited about 10 minutes until we started to try to flag down any server to at least get some water. You could see some of the employees making eye contact, but would not stop by. We did eventually go to the hostess stand to ask if someone could at least bring us some water. We did get a server to come over to the table and he was fantastic, knowledgeable, and super friendly (I put his name on a note and I am still searching for it). He completely turned around our initial experience and made for a great night for dinner, drinks and hanging out with friends. I was not hungry that night so had some hot tea while spending time with they others while they had their food and beverages. This is their new location and since we sat outside I didn't get a good chance to see the interior, but the outside tables were nice and the weather was perfect that night. It is a little harder to find this location, but same good food and drinks that they had at the last location. read more

I had always been wanting to go here for a few years, liked the menu and finally went to the new location in Ocoee. The space seems very nice, great for a date night, patio dining as well. Walked in and people were eating full meals with children in the waiting area which seemed odd. The hostess was not there and there was an employee who wasn't welcoming and had such a sour face. We thought maybe she was going to ask us anything but just shrugged her shoulders and gestured that someone is over there to come and check us in. The bar is right in front so we waited. She came and asked if we had reservations and we did. The door to go outside gets stuck so she forced it open, very dirty looking door, and sat us in front of it on the patio. After a few minutes our server came and offered drinks, they don't have modelo or corona but that's okay. We ordered 4 apps. He brought plates and as a server, please, don't put your fingers on the top plate and put them down. It's incredibly dirty and should always have a napkin between your fingers and the plate. Apps came and crab cakes were crispy on the outside and it comes right off of the crab and it definitely should not do that, the edamame was very good, the jam jar tasted good, the pretzels, too hard on the outside but still edible. Next ordered 2 filets, a side salad, double mashed potatoes, 2 wedge salads one with chicken and one with shrimp. Side salad came and my wedge with shrimp and two sides of mashed potatoes that look like oatmeal or grits. The mashed potatoes didn't make any sense why they came out without the filet. Then the rest came out. As a sever, please stop reaching over someone's food, just come around to the other side of the table! The filets looked thick and overcooked on the outside. My husband ordered medium well and it came out medium rare. Our server was missing and we had to ask a few times for refills. My husband sent the steak back and a manager brought it back out after a few moments. Same steak which was fine but it looks more burnt on the outside and he had to ask for another side of mashed potatoes. No steak sauce in the entire restaurant. They had run out so we asked if they could possibly make a sauce to dip our charred filet in, He brought out a red wine reduction type anjus sauce which was really not good. My shrimp wedge was flavorful and the shrimp were large. The chicken wedge looked okay as well. Manager never checked back or even waited to see if it was okay, didn't apologize or even offer dessert. We asked for a refill from the person who brought out my husband his mashed potatoes, for a refill of iced tea and he said he will get our server. He came after stating it took awhile because he had to brew more tea. No offer of an after dinner drink or dessert at all. Incredibly disappointing to say the least! Also forget about clearing plates as you go because that never happened until we literally handed them off. Also, the door is right in front of us so the staff constantly struggles with opening the door with full hands! The door was beyond filthy from the plates and drinks being spilled on it because they struggle opening it. I did pay the 237.00 bill for our party of 4 and still tipped because it's the right thing to do but wow, how incredibly disappointing. I know they don't care and really don't expect them to, but hire better people to give diners a great experience because fancy plates and ambience aren't going to be enough if people feel cheated in this economy. Stopped by the newly reopened and new location of Rusteak last night. Such a fun and funky spot! Trendy and modern with pops of fun. Beautiful location, decor. Several outside seating options. Larger bar when you walk in with indoor seating to the right. Loved the vibe of the new location. We ordered the catch of the day BLT with bistro fries and burger with house salad with vinaigrette. Both were delicious! House salad was surprisingly stacked with toppings including edamame, tomatoes, cucumber and cranberries. Bacon on both sandwiches was crispy. Mahi was the fresh catch and was mild with great flavor. The burger was slightly dry and well done, server didn't ask how we wanted that prepared. Server was very friendly and stopped frequently to see how things were going. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely add it back to our list of go-to restaurants. Ordered three entrees to go. Italian press, steak frites, and a wedge salad. What a disaster. Told it would be 25-30 mins. Show up around 30 mins. Tell them I have a to go order and the three hostesses had no idea a to go order was even placed. Then they say they found it and food wasn't ready. No timeline. So I'm standing waiting, 10 minutes goes by, I decide to sit in their lounge. 25 mins have gone by and no one has updated me. No one said sorry about the wait. No one offered me even a water while I wait. Food finally comes out and it sits at the front. I walk up and ask if it's mine and sure enough it was. If I hadn't, probably would have sat there. Well presumably since the food just came out everything should be fresh right? Wrong. Get home (0.35 miles from restaurant) and the fries with the Italian press were soggy. The sandwich was soggy and cold. The wedge salad was made on romaine not a wedge and did not have blue cheese dressing but balsamic. While it says it on the menu, that's not what a wedge salad traditionally is. The steak frites also came slightly undercooked and the fries that were given were potato wedges, not frites. The long wait was baffling since they only had 4-5 tables. The customer service was terrible. The food, disappointing. read more

Drinks were fantastic (unique twists on drinks like an old fashioned). Food was excellent and the ambience inside is really quite nice. Teeny tiny things that wouldn't stop me from going back but worth mentioning: Our waiter was a little on the side of too much conversation. He told us about his Somali training and his previous jobs. He seemed to digress as our social cues became more clear. We had a reservation for outside under the patio and we were sat outside HALF under patio and half exposed to the sky (but there were empty tables under the patio with fans that would have been more pleasant.) Excellent experience! Sat at the bar during their happy hour. I had a gin cocktail and hubby had a type of old fashioned. Both drinks were super unique (in a good way) full of fresh flavor!
